I don't understand expert village, they don't know how to download their videos. They have no sequence. Instead of downloading a segment parts 1, 2 and 3, they just throw them on there and you can never get a cooking session in order. The problem is that they always come up in the recipe searches. They need to delete their videos or do it right.
anytime I have to use my hands in combining ingredients I always use throw a way plastic gloves... much easier and a lot more sanitary, especially when serving finished goodies to others.... : )
All Pie crust I have ever made takes at least 4 tab of liquid so I start out with that much first...then add more if needed...my best crust calls for 1egg, 1tab vinegar along with little water, half oleo. half crisco and flour , salt, little sugar.. its very good!!!
You need ice water because you do not want the butter or crisco or lard to melt. You want them to stay in small pieces..that is what makes the dough flaky.
what if you use whole wheat flour, do you have to change the ingredient measurings at all?....................

i hear u can sub butter for oil (vegetable, olive oil,etc). Can i do that? I dont have butter at home & im tryin to make a "lighter" pie

You need ice water because you do not want the butter or crisco or lard to melt. You want them to stay in small pieces..that is what makes the dough flaky.
