Man... After watching these two fight, I've come to the realization that it is futile to fight Futile.

im just saying but i haven't really been involved with brawl that much but have been again recently and im just wondering when did wario become so popular?

and also what special moves have they found in brawl

like melee had wavedashing and lcancelling and shit so what do they have in brawl

yeah i really have not been brawl that much cause ive been playing too much cod4 and gta4

but im back on the wii so yeah

u must've been livin under a rock. its common knowledge for ppl who dont even play brawl that there arnt any wavedashes or L canceling in the game. the most technical thing in the game now wud probly be the sliding upsmash that many snakes do and futile's wario does sometimes

this is exactly why i stopped using sheik as a backup main... he can combo, but cant kill AT ALL... playing a DI'ing wario is especially hell.. zelda completely outshines sheik now :-/

sheik isnt really meant for killing, sheik is mainly for racking up damage (ftilt, utilt, side smash) and then chasing them off the stage (fair, nair, bair) and then edgeguarding (vanish, chain). But yes, sheik got worse and zelda got better.

Uh, look at Round 1... But great playing by both players. Impressive Sheik with some nice combos. Should have tried an upsmash at 2:00.

Watch the match. Sheik gimped him. Sheik has one of the best edgeguards in the game, but her KO options are some of the worst. I'm not defending Gimpy; I'm merely saying that he didn't get outright "owned" by Futile in this set. He put up a very good fight despite his obvious character disadvantage.

At least it was different though, and not "Well Gimpy only lost this match he was clearly trying very hard in because he doesn't take brawl seriously, but when he wins he's just better".

Even went back and rewatched Match 1.

Stock 1 - Saying "Gimpy expertly gimped Futile" is like saying "Gimpy's opponent expertly gimped Gimpy the time he accidently warlock-punched while falling". Futile panic'd and did a single up-B - didn't even try to use the bike.

Stock 2 - Futile got beat, and with a damage advantage no less.

stock 3 - Gimpy didnt "gimp futile", he gimped the fart (as any DK/Wario player has come to loathe), and unfortunately Futile had to find out while falling.

Like I said, Gimpy's a great player (that's obvious), and his sheik is quite amazing, showing he adapted in a very short time. However, for you and everyone who says "uh, he 3-stocked Futile in R1", you're giving way too much credit to the aggressor's "skeelz" and not nearly enough towards two incredibly epic blunders on Futile's part.

Would you say I got "an amazing one-hit kill" on Gimpy if I threw a tire at him, knocked him off, and he flamed on accident trying to recover?

i'm not 100% sure, but he either used the momentum physics while running off the edge to boost himself forward and vanish back (marios cape and dks headbutt can do the same thing) or he used the little jump that upb gives you to move forward and then vnished back, i think its the first one, but i'm not sure

Why does everybody think that he mains someone else when he plays someone new once in a while? People can experiment with characters you know. Anyways Futile's Wario is a beast lol. And Shiek really could use some KO power in this game other then U-Smash.

bowser isn't in brawl, there is a horrible immitation who's peak playstyle involves standing around and jabbing vs most characters. he is horrible borring and stupid.

just use zelda for upsmash KO so that during the star KO animation you can change back to sheik and have fun with it instead :P

please kernel, its clearly not discouragement. hes a melee main of one of the generally accepted worse characters, you dont do that expecting to win. i would guess its closer to boredom though thats not quite it either. it seems like a game where camping is the most effective strategy to win, albeit boring for both parties involved, would make a player who is not all about winning (gimpy) dislike the game. gaming is about having fun, why play the game if its not fun?
