It pains me so much to see people fight Eggman. The boost wisps you get after comboing his machine? Yeah, use those to boost into Eggman, saving time, effort, and money.

As for your video description, I'm pretty sure no-one ever did say Sonic was the fastest thing ever, even in the cartoons, just the fastest living thing.

Though, it is debatable wether Sonic's supposed to be running at full speed when he has his boost on, In Sonic colours DS, Omega implied Sonic's top speed is significantly greater than the speed of sound, so he may keep it down to mach1 to not tire too quickly, he keeps up that speed for long enough, after all.

@MissMysterics Yeah, true. People just took it to mean, "There is absolutely nothing capable of outrunning Sonic, and Sonic is at the absolute limit of how fast something like him can go." So you have people going into a rage when they see something like Metal Sonic outrunning Sonic at his fastest, or even devices that allow Sonic to travel even faster.

It was at its worst when people kept asking why Sonic is in a car in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. He's playing by the rules, pure and simple.

@Overhazard But he's the fastest thing alive by natural means, because Metal Sonic and Motobugs are robots, Shadow uses uses those shoes, etc.

@Lukethehedgehog1 The Japanese slogan for Sonic is "The World's Fastest Hedgehog." That implies there are things that aren't hedgehogs that travel faster than him. I believe in the DS version of Sonic Colors, there's mention of the Cyan Laser being even faster than Sonic--they merely can only travel in straight lines when going at top speed.

@vultwaz I'm not sure what their idea of a space elevator is, but it's a real concept. A very tall tower attaches to something in orbit around the Earth, and a machine travels up the tower to reach that something. You can look it up on Wikipedia. They have a lot of information about space elevators.

I really like how smoothly the music transitions to orchestral "Reach to the Stars" when you pick up the fifth Wisp.

And I really don't like "Reach For The Stars" as a song, but that version is excellent.

This level really pissed me off because there were NO checkpoints, and the enemies were fairly unforgiving. Hardest level in the game.

In fact, sonic really IS the "fastest thing alive". Metal Sonic and the Motobugs are machines, so theoretically speaking, he hasn't lost his title!

@gamemaster0422 It actually is NOT true, as there have been living things that have outsped him, most notably Shadow the Hedgehog. Blaze could likely outrun Sonic too if she wore sneakers instead of high heels. Dr. Eggman, surprisingly, can match running speeds with Sonic.

@Overhazard Shadow has air sneakers though, so he doesn't count. Also, I know that Eggman has outrun sonic but... it doesn't seem that realistic so I'll have to count that out (Yes, I'm talkign about realism in a universe where a blue anthromorphic hedgehog gathers magical stones to glow gold and fly in order to fight a person who is fused with a rotten egg and makes robots powered by animals) for personal reasons.

Blase, though, I have no argument for so you might have me there.

@gamemaster0422 All right, how about the Cyan Lasers? As a laser, they travel far faster than Sonic can run.

Eggman kept up with Sonic at running speed in Sonic 2, by the way. It happened again in Sonic Riders.

@Overhazard We've only seen the laser part, however, when Sonic is borrowing their power. If you want to say that they can use it themselves, could you please provide a little proof? If so, I"ll back off on that.

Also, in Sonic Riders, Sonic couldn't run fast at all so it doesn't really count. Also, I was more thinking of Sonic 3 instead of that. And like I said earlier, for personal reasons, I preffer not to count htat since I don't htink a man like Eggman could realistically do that.

As for it turning into a laser, one does this in Aquarium Park in the DS version of Sonic Colors.

Great job on Terminal Velocity and Defeating Eggman now all you have to do is make a mad dash off that crazy place but i have 2 questions were you saving your boost energy or you didnt know you could ram him with the sonic boost at the start and what do you think of the music in this game?
