I've watched a lot of his battles, and I noticed, Daigo never uses Ryu's Sempu Kayuka; and Zangief is one of the best characters if you know how to use him

i think this vid is a good example of how broken geif is. now i'm not putting down the other player he is good, nor am i making excuses for daigo he lost... but i mean seriously people. zangief has high damage out put, high defense and high priority. how is that fair. i hope capcom fixes this in ssf4. either nerf his defense or lower the priority to at least medium so he can't cancel an ultra like it's nothing... geez, one comb + one ultra from geif and it's over...T_T...

I mean geif is near the top of the tier list for a reason. anytime you face a gief player (sum1 maining geif) you better be real fucking good with your character or you have already lost... unless you got sagat...then you don't to no more than a couple combos...lol...

Ryu makes Gief easy as fuck. Ryu's fireballs and SRK make Gief pretty easy to deal with.

I've played good giefs as well that know what they're doing. As long as you zone properly and play it safe, you got it. Of course, that doesn't mean I win consistently. If I fuck up, then it's usually downhill from there, but otherwise it isn't ridiculously hard to space yourself from Gief.

im not saying its hard to space urself from gief, but it is fairly difficult to space urself from gief and do a signifigant amount of damage so that ur not at a life disadvantage. look up aquasilk vs damdai, u was using sagat (giefs counterpick) and the match still was extremely close

Naw, I know what you mean. Hadouken's do shitty damage when they hit, and most of the time they get blocked. Once mishap and it's usually downhill from there.

Hmmm, wheel kick using only the tip of Abel's foot. Also, pretty sure lp tornado stuffs most if not all of gief's options if they're done at the same time.

I used to main abel for a good 2 months, but then I went generic and now I use ryu. But yeah, gief is a hella tough matchup for Abel, won't lie about that.

@Tinnguyen123 fair enough but its easier to win with the guy playing with zangief than daigo with ryu because they can do the same amount of hits on each other but zangief does more damage so he will reach the end of your life sooner...if that makes any sense. And its not like he takes a lot of damage like akuma.
