  • Wow no shit...VH meaning its all good:) :)

  • Great verison! Where is that blk an white photo of bikie right at the start from?

  • Van Halen is for old schoolers born before about 1978-1980. I love em. All the negative comments are from the 80's-on crowd.

  • ahhh, the mighty van halen, as they were know in the day... nothing can match it!

  • ..all the haters...*fart noise*....

  • Wish they would come over the pond to the UK..Saw them here in 1980 changed my life, awesome..nice posting cheers

  • I here fans are blaming Obama for the new album

  • @MerkinMuffly: it would be the first thing Obama's done right, lol!

  • @MerkinMuffly I hear you "here"....

hey. the new album is GREAT - which means Obama had nothing to do with it.

  • Not bad at all!!

  • NEW VERSION BLOWS THIS AWAY,,HAIL WOLF

  • Van Halen's back huh?Nice to see that we still have jobs for the old and senile! Dave reminds me of a 90 year old in front of a retirement home rambling about the good old days.

  • So the "new shit" is just "old shit"? another scam to suck in the millions for Dave and Alex to pay his debts....poor fans, stooged again.

  • @blite13 New shit or old shit. It still works. No scam here. The true fans will and do love it. Don't be so bitter.

  • @blite13 It's just shit, period.

  • Its like they never left us, it shows classic style never dies. Looking forward to seeing

    the guys downunder.

  • Now this song KICKS ASS This should have been released before Tattoo because that was weak this is classic VH

  • Did you notice this has the bridge from Mean Streets - interesting. Hadn't heard this demo before.

  • This may be the "bootleg" version, or the version from the demo produced by Gene Simmons, but it does appear on the "new" album. I am a VH fan, seen them several times, will buy the CD. But, much of it is reworked, rehashed, older material. That isn't a bad thing. Unless you have had it for decades already. Then, it kinda sucks. But, DAVE IS BACK. And that ain't half-bad.

  • YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS VAN HALEN IS BACK!!!!

  • Only one problem: What in the HELL is Dave doing dressed in those corn-ball overalls? It looks like he just got off a street crew for public works!

  • Mean street

  • David, please don't fuck this up. Welcome back boys......

  • if you play this backwards, you'll hear sammy hagars jaw hitting the deck repeatedly!!! lol!!!

  • id this audio from cafe wha?

  • van halen is back givem give them boot,s to assssssssses

  • Dude this is mean street...WTF....jsut some diff words....

  • @gsoltis29 actually this song pre dates mean street.... check out VH's 77 warner demo "firestarter" and their gene simmons produced demo from way back in 76!!! practically their whole new albums on their!!~! just diff lyrics, like you say....

  • @terrormonkey1 I must admit I was very confused by this.....I did some reading over the weekend and did find out about what is going on with this. Thanks for the tip - I have heard some of that demo years ago. I just did not realize this was from that. I hate the net sometimes....you can never believe anything you see :)

  • Best Ive heard since the Goldenwest Ballroom Classic VH

  • sammys gonna be standing outside van halens bus with a bottle of teq in one hand and his dick in the other sayin "let me in guys" hahahaha

  • good song, just classic VH.

  • omg this is garbage! someone needs to tell these guys that the 80's is over and this music cant even be qualified as that. jesus. and to the sammy hagar haters.....THIS SONG PROVES HE WAS RIGHT! lol at least he and Michael Anthony can still sell records lmao

  • @cmoulder3157 van halen will sell more records when this is released in one week than chickenshit have sold in all of thier albums combined

  • @cmoulder3157

    whos the hater??

go and pluck some hair of of spammys and mikeys ass and floss your teeth

  • @cmoulder3157 first of all.... this song pre dates the eighties dickless, by a few years.. secondly.. IT KICKS SERIOUS ASS!! and who the fuck says great music is over???!!! YOU?!? u really think anyone gives a monkey fart what u think? we will see who laughs last numb nuts... real music aint quite dead just yet!! here we go again motherfuckers!!! YEEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!

  • Heard it once. It isn't great..maybe better as a studio version. Its definitely better than Tattoo. That song sucked

  • a shitty pop band.

  • @TrashBlaster SHUT THE FUCK UP! this band has forgotten more about REAL music then a dickless piece of shit like you could learn in a thousand lifetimes....

  • Wow. All Van Halen fans are retarded.

  • @shawnfichtner1 u got nothin to say and ur sayin it too fuckin loud....

  • Love both Chickenfoot and Van Halen. Love both DLR and Sammy. Love Van Hagar and Van Halen. With respect to all involved the old VH music holds up better for me. By the same token I think Sammy's voice has survived better. Own the latest Chickenfoot and looking forward to this new Van Halen music as well. People just need to chill and enjoy what they enjoy. Last I knew ALL Van Halen music was fun party music not some thrash fist fight bull crap.

  • @SuperSrooney I totally agree.. Couldn't say it any better. I'm also hoping we get a chance to see how well wolfie is delevoping as a musican. Watching these videos coming from Cafe Wha. I gotta say, this kid is pretty damn good. He's a hell of drummer as well.

  • @SuperSrooney Touche Super!! Totally in agreement. ;-)

  • @SuperSrooney Let's face it, who wouldn't want to see Van Halen and Chickenfoot on tour together. Think about them trying to out-do each other. What a show that would be for the fans!

  • @robertanthony975 You do realize this recording is over 30 years old, don't you? This is not the same version they played at the Cafe Wha show. The new version doesn't have the "Mean Street" breakdown in it.

  • Yes....a rocket from the past....✈ I'm with you on that one...

  • this is the original singer for van halen sorry chicken foot !

  • yeh right on daves back !

  • Is that Roth or is it Luigi from Mario Bros? Roth is a DOUCHE

  • @LONGBALL3005 I have a personal message from David Lee Roth...."WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?"

  • @gaddylh SAMMY HAGAR'S BODYGUARD

  • a song is not actually new until it is released on an albumn

  • Van Halen laughs at sammy's chickenshit !!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Folks, this is misleading. What you're hearing here is not a recent recording. This is from an old Van Halen bootleg from the 70's. It's obvious since Michael Anthony can be heard singing background vocals.

  • @TedwardsTube yeah thats true, but their whole new album is gonna be mostly re-working of their old 70's demos which were never put out, just with new lyrics in some cases...

  • Great song. The original guitar tone from the demo was so much better though. But damn happy to have them back together.

  • Luv it! Its got a 70s groovy vibe with a hard rocking fire to it.

  • @xiaou2 yeah, thats because this is a recording from the 70's when there was this thing called vinyl and not everything made the cut.

  • even though it's live, and despite the little "meanstreat" riff, it's still has an old school VH sound circa VH II or lll

    which is cool

  • @freedomfun1 bwahaha! it IS an old recording dude... "VHIII" my ass!! lol!

  • ATTN @MRVHWOLF slash, jimmy page, richie blackmore, JIMI HENDRIX, and joe satriani couldn't hold eddie van halen's guitar pick, he is to guitar what a heartbeat is to the human body (MOST IMPORTANT)

can't function without it ... YOUR TONE DEAF DUDE

    nough said!

  • Not really fair to compare Page, Blackmore, or Hendrix to Eddie as, without those three guitar players, Eddie's style may have never emerged. It's the same thing I said to @MRVHWOLF about Satch and Vai; they're technically superior players to Eddie, but, without him, their styles would be drastically different. Artists, in general, should be compared to their peers, not the people they influenced down the road, as those people will almost always find a way to improve upon them.

  • @horrorview dont forget clapton dude... eddie was apparently a huge clapton disciple... you can hear the speeded up blues runs in the first and second albums (not the tappy stuff but the pentatonics....)

  • Ummm.. This is NOT VH live from the other night. It is a demo from '77 or '78. Don't believe me? check the live vids from last week - The solo section is different and this one is identical to "Mean Street". What is this BS anyway?!!

  • I liked it better the first time, when it was called hot for teacher.

  • This is a demo tape from 1976.

  • This song sucks. Eddie's guitar work is always good, but this sounds very dated. DLR voice has never been strong, here's a example. A lot of these riffs were used in other songs.

  • @oldfilmless LOL! u know fuck all... this IS a dated recording numb nuts.. somebody posted it wrong... DLR's voice is no where near as strong as mr Hagars... its just alot less GAY! hahahahahahahaha! VH forever!!!

  • VH COUNTRY VH

    from beautiful Pasadena, Calif.

  • THEIR BACK BABBBBBYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SKEMaster15 u know it dude... evn if DLR just come out and is sick on the stage and eddie just farts into his amp, it'll still be ten time more melodic and soulfull then the vacuous, dreary, fake "r and b" image driven bullshit the poor kids got these days!!!

  • Trippy they used the part from Mean Street.

  • Van Halen has always dug into previous demos to make new songs. Remember "House of Pain" on 1984 was 8 years old at that point. Remember in 1991 when they did "Top of the World" with a recycled riff from "Jump" 7 years earlier.... so the argument they can't write together blah blah blah is bullsh!t.. I'll be all over the US watching this tour..

  • @KTVBOSTON you know it dude... was anyone their in 19th century germany saying "that beethoven's used that phrase and theme from the another symthony!! what a charlatan!!!" hell no!! its just another sign of true genius... it takes time baby! and the good time are back!!! yeah!

  • Well he is my outlook on this........they still can't get a long to rite new shit so they have to pull shit out from the past to make a album......and oh by the way just remember how bad VH3 was oh thats right no one bought it....lol and chickenfoot is a way better band so you eddie van halen fans can suck my ass !!!!!!!!

  • @silveremmie And who are you? The newly appointed mayor of the city FAILENHARD?

  • lay off the crack boy

  • @miller4life1 CHICKENLIPS or CHICKENSHIT or whatever it's called, SUCKS! Nobody ever has or ever will get the sound Van Halen gets.....Spammy can get the best players he can find and it will still just sound like polished party rock......Ed and Al ARE the difference, and i'm so glad Dave is back in...go to hell with all of your shit talk Sammy!! SUCK OUR COLLECTIVE ASSES "miller4life"!!

  • @netofgems I don't think Chickenfoot or Van Halen sucks...you're just frustrated.

  • @miller4life1 "chickenfoot are better than Van Halen" are u a string theorist, cuz a got no fuckin clue what alternate universe your dumb ass sprang from, but i wish you would just make another quantum leap asap! the only reason michael anthony is in chickenfuck is because (wait for it!!) he was the bassist in VH! no band has touched the orig VH since 78. FACT! WHO GIVE A FUCK WHOS ON BASS! wud be nice to have his high backing voice but i'l wipe my tears on my new VH album feb 7th!

  • Its an old track from the original demo's.....still class though....

  • This is awesome. Main riff sounds kind of like I'm the one.

  • This is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just heard "tattoo" too, and I'm sold -- this band is gonna conquer the world with this... It's excellent.

  • EVH's practice tapes at age 14 are better than the latest Chickenfoot.

Buh-bye Spammy Hagar - your book and 3 year campaign of hate against EVH has failed. Welcome to the world of obscurity!

  • @MrVHWolf Chickenfoot are a comedy band.....like Tenacious D...dogshit..

  • @Jonk5150 Actually they are more like Steel Panther, only not nearly as talented.

  • @MrVHWolf Glad to see I'm not the only one who hates Chickenfoot just for Sammy Hagar.. Because Joe Satriani is amazing

  • @MrVHWolf Well when they fired Roth, Roth found a better guitar player known as Steve Vai and when the fired Sammy, Sammy found a better guitar player known as Satch(Joe Satriani) both of who blow Eddie away on guitar hands down.

    Take it to a vote.

  • @fishinman2009 SOOORRY

  • @fishinman2009 Vai and Satch are both technically superior guitar players, no doubt, but Eddie obviously paved the way for their respective styles, thus, historically, he's the one who'll be remembered for his contribution to music. No disrespect, of course. As a guitarist, myself, with over 30 years of playing time under his rapidly expanding belt, I know how good those two guys are! Trust me; I've tried to play their stuff! LOL

  • @fishinman2009 Im voting, Im in! Vai is the most talented, most stunning guitarist that has ever lived. He can play better licks with one hand than any guitarist with two. I LOVE his playing. But the question is "who is better". What defines that? Influence? Album sales? Pop culture reference? If that is the case, Eddie is the clear winner hands down. Vai as good as he is has never shocked people like Ed did in '78 on the first album. He changed guitar. Long live the King!

  • @wendelmania Very well said my friend, right how do you compare? I really dont think that you can say who is the best. Vai is amazing but if you ask people who Steve Vai is alot of people have never heard his name let alone heard him play. Now if you ask people who Edward Vanhalen is most people have heard him play and those who Haven't I'll bet have still heard of him. Who is the best is merely based on opinion such as taste, style, upbringing and even being prejudice can play a role in judgement

  • @wendelmania Conclusion from first statement(Ran out of type room)

But yeah man you got it Eddie did blow people away when he first came out and nobody had ever heard anybody like him. The man is a legend such as Neil Peart from Rush, totally blew everybody away with his speed and precision when 2112 came out, nobody played like him and nobody heard anybody like him but he as well paved the way for musicians as well.

  • @wendelmania well said dude...

  • @fishinman2009 also, Satch is very talented, fast and all that jazz but he hasen't done a single thing on the guitar that hasen't been done before. I love his playing too; G3 tours always get me out. Very articulate and so on, but Eddie Van Halen catagory? Not even close.

  • @fishinman2009 sorry dude, i loved dave, billy, steve and greg as a band (and i know im in the minority there back in the day!) but a few things. 1:you forgot jason becker after vai (who is awesome but when u mention vai, most guys who arent musicians say "who?" ) 2: satriani is amazing and apart from kirk hammet, even the people he taught to play the guitar are legends in their own right. but hes just not EVH.. its in the phrasing. (my opinion) 3: EVH is the best living guitarist

  • @MrVHWolf you are an idiot vh was with mike better than 100 with Woopie ,,euhh wolfie, His son is just a fag imposed by fag Eddie .. period ,.... hagar era is way better than any DLR anytime after 1984 ..... stop sucking up to Eddie suck ass ...and grow the FUCK UP.. idiot.

  • @ricoagogo 5150 was good but everything else Van Hagar did was pale in comparison to the roth era... thats not even opinion man.... its a FACT!!!

  • @MrVHWolf Im a fan of groups. Before you open mouth you should look at the online polls. The Foot is kicking their ass! The funny thing is they sound more like VH with Michael Anthony singing background.

  • @TOMSGROOVES no band has kicked VH's ass since 1978 when they blew sabbath off stage everynight on tour... NO BAND!! END OF! you take a member of a band out of a band here and a band there and form these super groups.. but VH are as close to the orig line up as they have been since the mid eighties.. unless john bonham suddenly rises from his grave "altered beast" style and led zep go on tour, VH are the best band in the world once again AND WHO GIVE A FUCK WHOS ON BASS?! REALLY?!

  • @terrormonkey1 Im disappointed with the whole thing.

  • @MrVHWolf Sammy was a huge star before he joined Van Halen. He still is. it's ok to like both Van Halens. I even liked some of the tracks on VHIII

  • @MrVHWolf Did you really do the same comment on the other She's the Woman page? Wow. Sammy laughing at you. I know. We're doing shots right now while Ed wishes he could drink. :hands bottle of Jack to Mikey:

  • @steveminn have you ever visited the planet earth?!?!?

  • @MrVHWolf

    You are completely insane.

  • Cool I like the old school style from the early days

    this rocks

  • Is this actually from Cafe Wha? Or is this an old live recording from back in the day?

  • @stonerh Oh nevermind, I just got the Mean Street bit.

  • @stonerh back in the day... this will be on the new album, but prob with different lyrics...

  • OH HELLZ YEAH!!!! I've ALWAYS loved this song!!!!

  • This is on there new album Alice cooper played it live on the radio saying it was new

  • Not new but its gonna sound killer with a real production on a official cd release! By the way Wolfgang killed on bass during this song at Cafe Wha? He has a real nice sounding punch to his bass.

  • @mesarock2vh I bet this was better

  • @mesarock2vh dude! he shares chromosomes with his old man!! he may not have mic anthony's vocals but he'll probably be ten time the bassist!! people forget that MA joined the band from a little group called "Snake" (nice name btw... i can get more taste out my cock...) and that is almost certainly where he would have stayed if it wasnt for the van halen bother and dave roth needing a new bass player after Mark Stone got less serious about the band. (poor.... poor guy can u imagine?)

  • @terrormonkey1 Mike was the lottery winner in my opinion, just a decent player who got picked for the job. I think far to much is made about his high screech vocals but hey now he can screech along with Shammy!

  • @terrormonkey1 after the DLR-Wolfie-Van Halen record fails, there is a new reunion coming...yeah you know, wait for it, wait for it: Eddie, Alex, Mike (stone) and Gary Cherone! Yeah!!!

  • @shanner23 (sound of wind wistling past.... a tumbleweed rolls by......)

  • This isn't new... Its old unreleased. Unless Michael Anthony was in the audience singing background vocals!
