He has the best musicians on stage with him, including Irish instruments and strings... awesome concert! Well, all of his music is awesome as far as we're concerned! Incredible musician and a true troubadour!

Does anybody here know what knopfler plays/does on those tracks of this amazing album (Screenplaying) where there is no guitar present (there in one which is just strings/orchestra and is hauntingly beautiful, but no guitars of any kind)... Does he "conduct" as well?

everytime, i am listening this song, i'd love to be in a cottage in the middle of nowhere, at the winter, sitting in front of the fire place in the middle of the night and watching snow falling from the sky with the person you love most. When i manage to do that, i'll become the happiest man in the world....try to imagine...:)

@drMINDdamage I love the "Butt" monkey segments. So & So is good BUT... If Clapton is your favorite, just come out and say "Clapton is best/my favorite", omitting MK is good BUT. Anything that comes after the word "but" seems to me like any phrasing before the word "but" can be thrown out, or is just a sophistry statement.

Great tune.....as is all the music from Cal. The video seems inappropriate to me and definitely a tad immature and 'twee'. Cal is anything but an immature and twee film. It's not the easiest film to watch if you've had any experiance of 'the troubles'!

I was ver very young and remember that this tune would always come on after the 1pm news, in Portugal (somewhere between 80's and 90's), while the TV showed the reports, stats and graphs of Lisbon's stockmarket! Ridiculous I know. I always hated economics, but always waited for the news to end to listen to this beautiful beautiful music! Didn't rest until I found out who Mark Knopfler was. And what a journey it has been since. Hail great musicians and their even greater musics!
