this is too much. I had no idea that these guys did anything other than the Snoopy Songs, first one Dec 1966 and then another one a month or so later. I prefer Gene Pitney version but this is kind of cool
Great version of a very cool song. The singer's voice is perfect for this song. Very close to Gene Pitney -- one of the all time best singers of 60s pop. The Royal Guardsmen were very talented but underappreciated! (And yes, the photo is the Left Banke.)
Yes, Left Banke were best known for the original version of "Walk Away Renee" and had a few other hits as well. Some members eventually became part of Stories who had a hit with "Brother Louie."
Very awesome! Two thumbs up

The most unappreciated group. They are a lot better than just "Snoopy and the Red Baron

@toidhh22 You could nearly get away with saying it was Gene Pitney. It is very good.

Great version, almost as good as Gene Pitney. Nice to hear a serious sone from the Royal Guardsmen

I hate to be a bit of a wet blanket, but that is not a picture of the Royal Guardsmen, that's the Left Banke. And "Valance" is spelled wrong.
