  • If the NIV was good enough for Paul, it's good enough for me. Moses should have known better than to use Hebrew.

  • @RichardLuciano01 You might want to add sarcasm tags in case you get fundy atheists thumbs upping your comment.

  • Bill Maher's Religulous..how come the comments are turned off JP Holding.....on this video apparently you comfortable as you state in the above video at 7:26 taking on skeptics...if this were true then why is comments turned off ..looks like Maher has made a point...your just another talker with no realistic backing . its obvious that his style of interviewing is because you wouldn't be able to stand up to him at least he is mouth and action unlike you

  • @daphoenixto Whatever that had to do with anything. I wrote a full refutation of Maher's crap on my site...go see vid here on why ratings are disabled...there is no 7:26 in this vid, duh...get off drugs and off Maher the fool too...he thinks germs don't cause disease.

  • Norman Geisler is a fundie athiest?

  • @YodatheJedi12 ROFL...no, the names in this series are all puns on evangelists, apologists, etc. -- with no intent to indicate any other likeness.

  • JPH: You crushed their whole narrative by looking at the Hebrew.

  • @UTubekookdetector Paul wrote in English -- good enough for them!

  • I like the voice of Norman Guzzler. Could you make the speaker a permanent member of your voice acting troop?

  • @LittleSn00py He is indeed that. He'll have a small part in the upcoming Geisler 2 vid as well.

  • there's also this article: answering-islam(.)net(/)Shamoun(/)ot_and_rape(.)htm

  • It is very unfortunate that the NIV, despite its most recent and much needed revision, still chose to use the term "rape" in verse 28. However, more than just a simple "seduction", I believe this is in reference to premarital sex. It's almost like it's repeating Exodus 22:16.

  • @Dante666 Yes, I take that for granted, that sex was involved too.

  • @Dante666 Oh yes -- I was going to note the Ex. 22:16 parallel too, but forgot to put it in the vid.

  • What translation of the Bible are the fundy atheists using, because the version I use implies non-forced, immoral intimacy rather than the stronger rape? Besides they should know better because in other passages the Biblical laws clearly state that forced intimacy (i.e. rape) receives the death penalty. (O_o) So much for context in any language, let alone ancient Hebrew.

  • @TheDrDogood Can't say...they don't even quote a version in the Facebook graphic. They may just take "lay hold" in the KJV as violently as they can force it to be (pun not intended).

  • @tektontv

I think they use the NIV for this one because it uses the word "rape". They go with whichever translations makes their case as you know, and the KJV doesn't help them much in this case.

  • @ukchristian28 I wasn't aware the NIV used "rape". How goofy.

  • @tektontv Perhaps they are trying to avoid the connotation that premarital sex is acceptable for unmarried couples as long as they get married eventually.

  • @tektontv Considering it is a paraphrase and not a literal translation, I could believe it.

  • So is rape mentioned as a punishable offense anywhere ion the bible?

  • @Coquipirate Yes, in Deut. 22:25.Death is the indicated penalty for the rapist.
