  • I gotta get this.

  • @LucifersDisciple6 Yup! It's pretty good.

  • Wow, I bought it for 19,99 $ just today. I guess it was a super deal !

  • @SchoolofSurvival2B If Canadian Tire wasn't out of stock at the time i could have got it for $25 I think it all balances out from country to country. Our wages are very high here. So are our prices :o)

  • looks to be a good little saw you have there. thnx for letting us know about it

  • @southeastbushcraft You're welcome my friend :o) Thanks for checkin' it :o) Hope it helps in your decision. There are so many out there.

  • Don't complain bout the price, here in Denmark the price is 75,70$ from our cheapest walk in store from what i have seen so far.

Thou thanks for the review, it was very good.

  • @pcgamesftw1 For sure :o) I wasn't complaining about the price, but was surprised that our Canadian Tire store did have it for half the price...hehe! Oh well, Not too worried about it.

  • you know wat does that faster....a chainsaw....jk....nice saw im gonna buy it

  • @daybydaysurvival Hehe! Yeah! Chain saws work too ;o)

  • the "fine blade' is a bone saw. the aggressive blade is for wood.

  • @briargoatkilla Actually it said right on the package that the fine blade is for harder wood and Game!!!That's why I put that in text :o)

  • This Econo Challenge participant will be traveling with the Gerber Gator this year. However, I am a gram wienie. So I am leaving the extra blade and cool sheath at home.

  • @EconoChallenge Haha1 So you're a gram weenie now? The man with the heaviest pack in the group? ;o) you really don't need the extra blade anyway !

  • the Gerber Gator Folding Saw is $19 online, comes with 2 types of blades.. = a LOT of saw for the money :D

  • @TheMystery7314 Once ya pay for shipping it doesn't make it any cheaper than our local Canadian tire store for $25 :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos well $25 ain't that bad :) as this is way over Wal-Mart quality I'd say

  • I just saw both at Walmart here in Toronto. World Famous looked decent, light weight, about 10 bucks, in the camping section.

The Gerber is in the tools section, bit heavier, didn't check the price.

  • @TeamLibertyExpress Yeah the World Famous saw has been holding up very good! Great little saw for the price :o)

  • Good review. Thank you

  • @AbdMalil1 Thank you :o)

  • I think if you don't need a fine blade, the cheaper one is as good. But, how much are the replacement blades? If they go for 5 bucks a pop then long term the gerber is cheaper

  • @johnmonk66 For sure. The replacement blades are around 5-6 bucks.

  • you can now get the gerber saw for like 15 bucks on ebay

  • That's cool! But how much for shipping? Something to consider! Don't forget, I live wayupnorth :o)

  • well most auctions had free shipping for the usa but if your in canada i dought it would be a lot.. maybe 10 bucks max. either way theyre still running pretty cheap. just a quick fact for anyone interested in this saw.

  • Well, we can never get things shipped here for $10 from USA! And if I could I can buy it at Canadian Tire right now for $25 which would be the same amount with out having to wait a week or two. For us sometimes it's better to pay a little more locally then to order online. Especially when the price comes out nearly the same!

  • well heck, the gerber comes with an extra blade! theres your price difference! naturally it should cost much more, plus i'd bet the gerber uses better steel as well. nice review. thanks.

  • Thanks :o) Actually I did see later that I could have bought it for $25 at Canadian Tire but I didn't know they had them there...hehe! Oh well! It's no use crying over spilled milk...hehe No big deal! I found the World Famous saw to be just as good in the long run and alot lighter packing. I checked the price again and it was only $11 :o)

  • I have the Gerber Gator saw. I like it. It was like $29.99 at my local hunting store (Gander Mountain). The Bahco Laplander is virtually unavailable. The Gerber Gator is$16.50 + $6.08 shipping from Amazon.

  • Hehe, yeah...I found it a while later at Canadian Tire for $25.

  • Nice saw! I have a wood handled Fiskars I got from Home Depot for about $15-. Locks open and closed, no sheath, so you have to wrap a rubber band around it that was glomed from asparagus or broccoli! ; )

  • Thanks man :o) They both work well! I'd check out Home Depot if I had one...hehe! I have more than enough saws already though...hehe!

  • craftsman makes a folding saw.

it looks good for 10 dollers

  • That's good to know...Thanks :o)

  • I use the Sierra Saw by Coghlan. It has a 7 tempered steel blade that cuts very well. For about $20 Canadian its a good little saw. One major negative is the blade will bend and sometimes warp. I have replaced it four times in the past 15 years due to a bent or broken blade. One minor negative is the blade does not lock closed. You have to buy the sheath separately to store it safely. So which one is the better deal?

  • I'm not sure what to think of anything made or sold by Coghlan to be honest. Almost sounds like the World famous would be a better saw for the money. I haven't had any problem with that one at all. The jury is still out on the gerber Although it appears to be pretty good for now. You could get that alot cheaper than me too. I paid too much at the local sports shop. It was the only place I could find one at the time. Later I saw it in Canadian Tire for $25 man...haha...good deal :o)

  • Looks nice actually:) If your'e going to buy a new one leater on I would recomend Fiskars Sliding saw.. I just love it:)

Love that you compare the cheaper one with the gerber:) 5/5

  • Thanks...do you have a vid on the fiskars?

  • No I actually don't.. Mabye I'll just do a short vid here at home.. But I think I'll wait untill friday when I have my batterycharger again and when I'm in the woods:)

  • Looking forward to that buddy :o)

  • 1st class vid !!!

  • Thankyou very much. I appreciate that :o)

  • Do you have any bowing problems in the walmart saw? How much does that weigh?

  • No bowing problems. I'm not sure on the weight. I don't have a scale to weigh the light gear mainly cause I usually don't worry about weight...if it's light, I know it's light!...haha!.Ilike it because it's held up for for quite a while now and is lighter than the gerber...but the quality isn"t as high as the gerber :o)

  • I looked up a folding pruning saw the US walmart stocks online and it was 8 inches with a wood style handle and a steel blade. The shipping weight was 5.6 ounces so it's probably less than that.

  • Rite on...are you getting one?

  • I'll have to check the store next time I go. I have and old walmart saw, but it doesn't fold, is much longer and heavier and has buckling tendencies if you aren't careful.

  • Cool vid.....great saw...got one :) 5/5

  • Thanks buddy :o)

  • ***** Very Nice ****

    ... especially your "black&white-intro" ... perfectly "old school" made ! ;o) I really appreciate that !

I´ve got a Herbertz folding saw in use - maybe i can show you next time.

    Hold on buddy ...

  • Thanks again buddy!

Yes, show your saw. I would like to see it. Where do you get it?

  • Great review. That must be a new model. It doesn't look like the one I was looking at. That one locked in both positions. Yeah, sometimes the cheap stuff is as good, if not better. Thanks for the vid.

  • Your very welcome my friend:o) I faved a vid from quietbearr I believe. It must be the older version. You push thebutton on the side, and apparently it wouldn't stay locked if it wasn't kept tight. The world famous doesn't look as strong, but it's been holding up good for me since spring. We'll see how it hols up on the long haul :o)
