  • You look young and fresh. Um maybe if you would change your glasses for a new pair of optical glasses; modern, try rectangular shape, metal with acetate. Colour: gold brown.....depends on your eye colour

  • ugh, i can spend $10 for a 5 minute buzz cut at the local walmart. i would much rather this kind of service

  • best barber service ever, the Turks. bravo!

  • Holy shite complicated hair cut mate.

  • Why so serious?

  • you look like steve carell

  • were you born in april or may?

  • @AleichemSholem No I was not born in April or May

  • @ytpedronz

    When were you born?

  • Hello, Im from Izmir and would like to ask whereabouts this is? :)

  • @Mattichimaru He says where it is at :45

  • Don't want to sound shallow or anything but the barber is hot!

  • Stuff like this just blows me away. This is essentially an art form and commands as much practice and mastery as a master carpenter or the like might wield. Makes 10 dollar haircuts from Great Clips look pathetic.

  • Turkish barbers are great, whenever I visit Turkey I do my hair like 5/7 times there.

    It's lovely.

  • Way too short, both the haircut and beard trim. The beard trim makes you look as you are just starting to grow your beard and mustache. You look good before the haircut, why?

  • Jersey Shore hair dew at 5:57

  • Looks like Borat at 3:08. Very relaxing to watch

  • if they ever make a splinter cell conviction movie you'd be perfect for it !

  • ai am turkish barbar too perfecct turkish barbers

  • looks pretty finished at 2:25

  • You went from looking destitute to stylish in one hour. I love it!

  • The barber is sexy.

  • I think your haircut is amazing, please tell me what you told the barber in order to get your hair like that.

  • he really got the works... i would definitely tip well if my ears werent singed

  • @otty87 I have changed my glasses. See squidoo.com/turkishhaircut#module118364051 for my latest look.

  • First time I see someone shaving the top of the nose

  • Steve Carell !!!!!

  • @07gdo I see a little bit of Alfred Molina as well.

  • How did you come about being a CEO of a media production company? What sort of schooling did you take and/or other steps for such a career as I have long been interested in working in the field.

  • @Sc0r0 My path to CEO has been slightly unusual, but it helps to start or find a small company and grow it. When I was in high school, personal computers were just being introduced, so I took computing classes and art. Then further studies in computing and a wide range of jobs including roles in system administration, programming, sales and tech support and web design to become a generalist. Learn all you can.

  • Ah. The beauty of other countries, they appreciate their work, to them it's like art. That's one thing I HATE about the U.S. if men try to get something nice their labeled as homosexuals. People fail to release if you look good you feel good. Women aren't the only ones who like to have extraordinary good looking hair cuts, with magnificent attention to detail. It looks OH SO relaxing to watch. I can only imagine how it felt.

  • lmaooo haha they made you look like them geeky turks

  • @good2goski there is a similar turkish babershop with the same haircut "rituals" in montreal, if u live in montreal its on rue saint roch, called gold scissors

  • They should open a few shops in the US. They will have a lot of success.

  • You really do remind me of a quite older Steve Carrell.

  • Ten US dollars!!!!????!!!!??? what a deal

  • where do they get that fire-ball thing?? which they use to burn tiny hair of ears and other small areas of face?? ..

  • @NIGHTxDAD They dip cotton wool in methylated spirits

  • A woman, do they get the same treatment at a barber or is this strictly for men?

  • @Supermouse2002 yes they do but women dont have facial hair so the shaving is not "included" but eyebrow and upper lip threading plus a hair cut and a blow dry is about 20 liras so 15 usd ... it could go up to 60-70 liras depending , but the cheaper ones are as professional, maybe a difference in the product brands ... and the dry hair cut before or after the wet hair cut is pretty common in turkish hair cutting...

  • @oznurdeniz Well I would imagine a woman doesn't get a shave, it would be weird if she did ;-).

I was just wondering if women also got a head/face massage at a barber :-)

  • You're a very sweet man. I love eating kebab while watching your video. It's so relaxing.

  • My friend and I are arguing and we have been doing so since a very long time back, whether you look Turkish or not. I say you look Turkish, he doesn't. Do you by any chance have any Turkish ancestry in you?

  • @Danijael88 I do not have any recent Turkish ancestry. My known ancestors came from Germany, England and Ireland and settled in New Zealand about 140 years ago. I don't know where their ancestors came from.

  • who woulda thunk a freaking haircut needed a play by play

  • that was great, real pampering hehehe im a woman and i wanna turkish haircut lol :)))...good video, thanks for posting :)

  • good video, nice hair cut :) i like the fire thing.. is different :)

  • Wow! That was quite a transformation. Great work they did and it made you look more refreshed.

  • @otty87 Yeah; I think he should try contact lenses.

  • better with the beard trimmed.

    and the face is great.

  • You look very similar to Steve Carell from "little miss sunshine"!

  • wtf are you joking? wtf....

  • 1st class service.

  • you looking good after that cut my friend

  • This place is VERY detailed.

  • looks like steve carell

  • great video.

  • you looks like ten years more Young!

  • He appears a bit grumpy

  • Damn, reminds me of Steven Carrell.

  • dont mess with the zohan

  • Holy crappola! You look like Evan Almighty.. sneakitout is spot on!

  • he does lol

  • u look like you have no emotion, but u do when u talk

  • Comment removed

  • It's Evan Almighty!

  • the guy could be a golf or cricket commentator

    he sounds like one hehehe

  • lol

    he has a relaxed voice

  • I shall hold you to that ukta, Im going to Turkey in August and i will have my stop watch ready. haha

  • well if you do not look like a castaway like this guy, 10 minutes tops, you will not need eyebrow or hair fixing every day.

  • Comment removed

  • haha ,I think you do not like it because it makes you as a barber look bad. Locals can not affords, seriously ? Turkey's barber culture is much more different, it is a part of daily life, much more used than western societies, people walk into barbers just to get shaved before work. Small shops like these have predefined price list decided by the "Council of Barbers" (Yes there really is a Council for that) and pretty reasonable.

  • oh by the way, if you become a regular, you get much better service than this guy had. You got for shave but they also fix your hair, clear the broken ones, clean up your neck etc. for free, Barber chat is somewhat tradition, they always talk and always have the freshest jokes around. You ask those guys who will win the election you get the most accurate results. They do it to get people regular, they understand what kind of talk you may want by just looking at you a second.

  • He's commenting it like a golf game... :D

  • WAS THIS DONE AROUND 1990??

  • Can you get this in the USA?

  • I've heard tell of a few Turkish barbers in places like Chicago&NewYork. I suppose the best thing to do is surf on over to the search engine of your choice.

  • nop

  • that was a great expression he had the WHOLE time... only his eyebrows changed during the flame lol

  • It always amazes me the ammount of time they take to make you look good. And they always get the job done. Perfect.

  • he looks like 15 years younger

  • they used that FLAME trim on my buddy...he was drunk and went up like a roman candle

  • Smiling a little wouldn't harm you

    :)

  • @10timesfuck what kind of an asshole smiles while getting a haircut?

  • wow you look twenty pounds lighter by the end of this video....that beard really filled you out...

  • He looks like Nanni Moretti, an italian actor and director...LOL

  • bu ne lan götüngen

  • lol 3:08 Frank Zappa

  • totally

  • at certain angles u look like steve carell lol wow i would love to get a hair cut in turkey

  • I just kept expecting the guy to say: "Greetings, Mr. Bond."

    (I have the sound off)

  • yup you'r right about the fire for the soft hair and I agree it is addictive this video and others I watched, maybe us man like to be pampered just as much as women like it.

  • 0:16 martin adams

  • Make sure to stare at the camera plenty, huh?

Nah, but seriously, I wouldn't mind a haircut like that.

  • You look like Steve Carrell.

  • oh sweet you get tea while you wait....that is so worth the 1st hour....i wish they offered soothing beverages at barbers in the States....but i can dream right lol

  • good vid bro

  • It must me very relaxing ! You should be smiling ! :)

  • Good job! Graet video and the haircut makes you look a lot younger.

  • did you go to turkey or you went to a turkish barbershop?

  • I have lived in Turkey since 2003. The barbershop in the video is near my office. I went there the other day and they gave me another great shave and haircut without me even having to say how I wanted it.

  • well they did a good job

  • Hi Im looking for a new barbers, I live in the UK/North London near Palmers Green if anyone knows a good Turkish barbers like this one in the area can you let me know much appreciated ^)^

  • Nice! i love the style in which you presented this video. Wish i was in turkey! btw, i can't help but think that you kinda look like Steve Carrell

  • he does actually and also kinda looks like Frank Zappa about 3 mins in

  • This is the second time I have watched this video clip and find it incredebly relaxing. Good job on the video, please keep posting.

  • Don't forget the incredibly dull & boring commentry.

  • hes face when they were burning the hairs was soo funny. turks r the best at this. men get pampered more than women.

  • Great vid, great commentary 5/5

  • The haircut is nice, but I think you look quite handsome with a full beard!

  • lol pedronz.. this is my barber shop:) halil:) right in front of the baris grossmarket:)

  • Don't tell anyone where it is. Let's keep it our secret. I don't want everybody to crowd into Halil's shop and make the queue to get too long.

  • unfortunately it is too late.. because i found this video from google earth:) you have already tagged it..

  • Are there any places that give haircuts like there in America/Canada?

  • look twice as young

  • I dunno why, but I have been drawn to these foreign haircut videos as of late. I want to visit India or Turkey just to get a haircut and a shave. I've never heard or seen anything like this here in the states.

Both India and Turkey seem to have an "all-inclusive" approach to cutting hair. Turkey seems to offer a much higher quality service. But India isn't without its own charm.

  • yo i feel exactly the same. i love the ear torch and then i love the threading and the head massage. i wish they could combine both countries techniques. i wonder if any other countries have exclusive styles. going to another country for a hair cut...i just might do it...and of course sight see as well.

  • also the price of such a haircut is so cheap here.. about 12 dollars.. hair and beard:)

  • when im in turkey i do it for like 3 dollars lol :P 12 dollars is ripoff in my eyez O_o while there are much cheaper ones

  • 12 dollars is the "tip included" price:)

  • I liked the cut, right before the beard trim. You looked like some sort of Russian Czar.

  • Is it me or did the guy's face look twice as thin after that beard came off?! hehe,

    nice cut though ! :)

  • My gosh, why didn't they bathe you too? I've never seen a more involved hair cut. What was with the fire? Does this open up the pores?

  • Turkish baths are also an interesting cultural experience. I might make a video of a Turkish bath/massage if I get the courage.

The fire burns the hairs in the ears and on the face.

  • Ouch! And it actually works? It burns them right off?

I'm surprised that it hasn't carried over into more Western countries. I guess the whole flame issue is an insurance problem. I'd still probably let someone do it to me though. It can't be as bad as some of my horrible shaving experiences. lol.

  • In the UK they do the flame thing at turkish barbers

  • y the ausie accent

  • I am from New Zealand so my accent sounds similar to Australian.

  • so what u doing in turkey

  • I am the CEO of a media production company

  • Wow. Cool how they take care of all those little problems like nose hairs, eyebrows, etc., that we often neglect. Great video with excellent narration.

  • You look like you could kill someone. but nice vid

  • Nice I wished they did that here.

  • Not trying being mean what so ever,

but has anyone ever told you, you look like steve carrell?

  • No - you're the first. It's probably the haircut. I wonder who cuts Steve's hair?

  • He does!

I was thinking the same thing. I don't see it as an insult; Steve is a good-looking guy.

  • Thanks. Tonight I saw a video of Steve with a beard (an early promo for Over the Hedge). It makes him look even more like me.

  • lol

Have you ever worked for a paper company in Scranton, by any chance? ; )

  • They cheap as hell, I could have a haircut twice a month for that !

  • theres a place where u can get a turkish haircut around mine (england liverpool) want to get it done deperately! think i wil grow my beard for it as well!!

  • I've been to turkey 3 times and have gotten haircuts all the time ! it's extremely skillfully done, it's way better than my homecountry denmark

  • watch?v=IU4s3DzsjBU

  • I really enjoyed watching that especially that bit with the flames, they could make millions in South Asia

  • ive worked with turkish barbers along with others and the best ive seen where polish, alot easier to work with too!

  • DUDE! you looked much better before that barbar visit!

  • Like I say in the video - the previous haircut was still a Turkish haircut. Good haircuts are like wine and cheese - they take a while to mature and become their best.

  • how many US dollars? i couldnt make out what u were saying

  • 10 USD

  • enjoyable...I like you with shorterhair.

  • Is it difficult to tell your Turkish barber how to cut your hair? I could imagine them cutting it way too short if they misunderstand.

  • There is currently a Turkish TV advert for a bank which features two men getting a haircut and talking about the 0% interest rate. They end with zero hair.

  • Now...THAT I would love to see!!

  • hmm I would go without the remains of the beard, but otherwise cool.

  • Apologies to everyone who watched the first version of this video. The Turkish courts have banned YouTube again and the proxy server I used to get around the ban and upload the video failed.

  • why do they ban youtube ?

  • In answer to your question, Turkey deems YouTube offensive as it insults their main religion (Muslim) with anti-Muslim comments being shown on the website.

  • just fyi, the religion is called islam.

  • Thanks for the info, bfmv0000 & please pardon my ignorance. ;)
