The iPhone clearly loaded the sites around 2 seconds faster in the last 2 tests. But Opera Mini 5 does look like a good browser for the smartphone market. Not that us iphone users will need to use it, seems we have Safari, but the BB folks will need it. =)
The beauty of opera mini is that it works quickly even when you get a low signal. Edge network 2 bars still loads surprisingly quickly. That is one of the biggest appeals of the browser.
Opera would kill in that category. Honestly opera 4 lacked the features of other smart phone browsers and on android the interface was clunky. The appeal of the browser for me was that everything loaded up fairly quickly no matter how poor my signal was.
you see 5530 with the standard browser and with Opera mini there are different times and different browsers but the same CPU so its also a thing of "software engineering"
An important point to make regarding the last test between iPhone and Opera Mini, is that whilst the total load time is similar, iPhone presents the page much faster and you can start navigating straight away whilst the rest is loading. Interesting video though.
You can't really see much off the little box that the screen initially covers though. Opera's method works really well when you don't have a good signal.
I have Opera Mini 5 on my E52!!

Safari isn't very good on the iPhone. I find it funny how my $100 phone has a better browsing experience than iPhones. :)

Maybe a second at most. It was still loading stuff. And honestly. Opera mini will run on my $50 prepaid phone at full speed. Try that with safari.

What we also need to see is how these browsers compare over 3G or EDGE.
