Anne is played by Patty Duke here....who played Helen in the 1962 version....so she played both parts!!!

Hello, I think it'll be great if you read the book "The Miracle Worker." Helen Keller is deaf, blind, and mute after 19months of her birth. So before she met and learned from Annie Sullivan (the other girl you were talking about) she is like a untamed animal, uneducated and wild. The conflicts or fights you see in the clip are the time before Helen is educated. She is mad and not used to things like politeness or respect so she is behaving like that to Annie Sullivan, her teacher. Hope I helped.

Well, a common reason many children are violent, have tempertantrums and act out when they are small is a failure to communicate - they don't have the words to express what they're feeling. Considering that was Helen's LIFE, I'm not surprised she lost it occasionally.

I mean, if you're really, really pissed off - would it satisfy your urge to rant and scream to simply sign a quiet "I'm angry" in someone's palm..? ;)
