@JaxFlScottsTreeLawn I believe that it is better to encourage the new root growth into the soil that will eventually be the plant's new home. If you make a false environment for the plant the roots will resist the poorer conditions and take longer to establish. Should you have reason to believe that the soil contains nematodes then it is best to treat the problem.
