I hope Alexandre Desplat knows what he has gotten himself into with composing Harry Potter 7 part 1. This is one of the last Harry Potter movies, and alot rests on him now. I really hope he can pull it off.

Desplat made an awesome job on this movie (obviously not as good as in Benjamin Button) but there's a rumor that he's hired to compused the music on the Twilight Saga's New Moon....i hope he makes a great job...!!!

The movie ends after the Tartar fight outside Bolvangar, but in the first book, Lyra and her friends continue to Lord Asriel at his mansion where he does his research.

When they get there, Lord Asriel sacrifices Roger to earn enough Dust-energy to open the dimensional rift, he then jumps through to look for the Authority, Lyra jumps through and ends in Citagazze - where she meets Will in book 2.

I really hope books 2 and 3 will be filmed.

LOL I was lost when i started to read the 2nd and the 3rd book. I decided to skip the 1st because i saw the movie but when I understood that Roger died, i was like : Uh... what's happened?? XD

Damn, they MUST make an extended dvd version. Tha quality of the movie will rise greatly if they include interesting material to fill the gaps of the awfully rushed theatrical version.
