I guess I just dont get disco - this is NOT as good as the original which came out while I was in college--sorry, but I can't fault you for posting this. Its about 50 less cool than the original.
@bongpuffer you were in college? damn, i was in the military. this one is cool too, i'm not sure about the 50%; maybe you were a little hasty? this one is cool, well it brought to mind the savoy brown and golden earing concert i went to way back in 1970! i was in san bernardino norton a.f.b. when this was out. yah, and i listened to 'sweet'
@bongpuffer you know, i just went back and listened to the original, and i think you're right, at first i thought you were a little hasty, and the 50% was a little extreme. but you know what? this is one of those songs that just should not be messed with in any way. so, you're right. and the reason i'm here, is because someone turned me on to "aldo nova" and the song 'fantasy' you must go hear that one too!!
@StoneFoxDemon The album cover was ...apparently painted by the front man (Paul ?) ...and was hung in The Tate Gallery for a while, although I'm not sure if it was guilty of any crimes..
i've listened to this song since it first came out. cool as hell. right now, tonight, is the first time i've heard the extended version. it's like listening to it for the first time.
it's over 30 years since the song came out. how the hell did i miss this! it's great!
Great Song, I used to have the 45, When I was a Disco DJ, this was one of the songs I would play as a warm up just before I play Disco. I had a promotional copy before the stores or radio had it . When I first played it as a warm up, the people thought I had started playing Disco, filled the dance floor. The song was a big hit.
this song and stangle hold the 2 killer tunes in my opinion to drive too. Once i get my AAR Cuda as im midlife as far as im concerned but can afford better luxuries, it be even better to hit the road in the new Cuda even tho my first car my 1967 barracuda was the first i teared up edmonton alberta streets with this song on the cruise sound programt. :)
I remember these they looked like 33 1/3 record but you played them at 45 RPM for the fast disco beat Metallica did the same thing with some of their early "Speed Metal" stuff
I am 39 and i remember this song at the al ages disco and the roller skating. any ways this song still has the capability to rock the house for the youngings!!!!!!! but of course they would ruin it by puting it as an rnb tune or gangsta tune.....
