Many of the same satellites are used for weather forecasting. Its a lie to say 'we can't know when a tornado will hit'. Obama cut the Sats from the budget.

There have been major breakthroughs in Earthquake Precursor science. In contrast to what Obama has done, a judge in L'Aquila, Italy, has indicted all members of the Commission on Large Risks of the Italian government, for failing to warn the population of the city of L'Aquila about the impending earthquake of 4/6/09 which killed more than 300 people. They use the same technology as weather forecasters.

The real story of this disaster is the lie that we can't KNOW or FORECAST these disasters. Obama has repeated this lie multiple times, when the truth is that, if we "don't have the capacity to...know when a terrible storm will strike", or it's severity, &c., it's only because his administration has intentionally SHUT DOWN the capability to do so. He's axing the satelite capability. NOAA says if he axes the JPSS satelite, they're forecasting for this area of the US will drop 50% in accuracy.
