The true name is not "Churún Merú" or "Kerepakupai Merú", the real name is "KEREPAKUPAI VENÁ". "Angel Falls" was not discovered by Jimmy Angel, the natives indians knows about it for centuries and venezuelan explorers discover it in the first years of the 20th century. Jimmy Angel was only the first man who landed a flying machine over the fall's top, that's all...he did not discover nothing.

ssshallam Se llama Shuru meru para los nativos, pero fue descubierto para al mundo cuando Jimmy Angel poso sobre el con su avioneta y las misma quedo allí por muchísimo anos... Ningún hombre no nativo había ascendido al Roraima y gracias a Jimmy Angel los venezolanos no indígenas nos enteramos que existía esta belleza !! eso no se llama ni santo angel ni angel falls, eso se llama shurum meru asi que respeto pues, no por que unmaldito greengo de la civilizacion lo vio le cambia el nombre deben llamarlo asi, los indijenas lo llaman shurum meru y es mas de ellos que nuestro.

@ssshallam, El verdadero nombre no es "Churún Merú", ni siquiera "Kerepakupai Merú"; su verdadero nombre es "KEREPAKUPAI VENÁ". El "Salto Ángel" no fue descubierto por Jimmy Angel, es obvio que los indígenas nativos lo conocían desde siglos atrás y exploradores venezolanos reportaron su existencia desde los primeros años del siglo 20. Jimmy Angel fue solo el primer hombre en sobrevolarlo y en posar una máquina voladora sobre su cima, con esto llamó la atención del mundo. Él no descubrió nada.
