This is not an abandoned boxcar. The car was sold to the owner of that building, Neumann Oil in the 90's. They used it for storage and own it. The company has moved and is in the process of selling the property, so I would expect this boxcar to be cut up on site.
This is indeed an old Boxcar!!! It has Journal Bearing Trucks, which haven't been used in a long time, also notice the Boxcar was derailed...probably why the Railroad never bothered to retrieve it. The track used to cross the Road and led into another Industry. Seaboard Coast Line Railroad ceased to exist in the early 1980s after the CSX Merger.
With Seaboard Coast Line being a " fallen flag ", wouldn't a railroad museum in the area be interested in displaying the car? A train buff who lives in the country & has the space could obtain the car & build a model railroad shelf layout inside of it!
someone donate it to the Florida Gulf Coast Railroad Museum!

@TrainGuy18 Good Idea!! If they move very slowly I think they may make it to the main line 1/4 mile away

@Millenniumforce nah they would have to truck it out. those trucks aren't good by CSX standards

Milleniumforce, I am sure the owner of the industry on the spur where the car is spotted would be in favor of having the boxcar find a good home!

That should be preserved in a museum! It's in excellent shame, only with a bit of graffiti and rust!
