Why is this wrinkled sick old fool still on tv? He hasn't been funny in years, his no-talent effiminate band leader is still doing that same old stale Bill Murray Vegas thing from SNL. Letterman drills our President every night with his lame humor. Wake up America, one man (Bush) couldn't have caused all of our economic and world problems. The blame can be spread around..Barney Frank, Phil Graham, Pelosi, Cheney, Kennedy...they're all to blame. Letterman is an idiot and he's extremely biased.

it's a play on "black friday" the day after thanksgiving shopping sale.... the joke is it's suppose to be an original idea. the joke is reinforced by his sidekick when he asks if he can use the phrase. not everything has to have a racist connotation. and jokes aren't funny if you've got to explain it out like this.
