Hmmm, good stuff,I failed to obtain the clock and ash parchments when I played it, so ta for that tip ;). Any chance you could u take a look at a bizzare little adventure I played as a nipper called Denis through the drinking glass some time please? ps, nice atmosphere created 4 ur game Evildeadcellar.
lol,yes Denis was v tough. I borrowed it from a mate who had a c-90 with a few others on. re. ff books, they were boss weren't they? I still have a few somewhere. Was never keen on the future ones like space assasin but loved warlock, talisman, forest, citadel et al. The illustrations were superb-(well caverns was a bit chunky) Was gutted when deathtrap dungeon came out for ps1 and it was nothing like:( Think i stopped collecting around crypt of the sorcerer
Good God! That's a hell of a collection. Forest of Doom a speccy game u say?! Well, I often thought at the time that they would lend themselves perfectly to text adventures but I obviously missed that one. Incidentally, I Bet the latest FF release price is more that the £1.75 we used to pay...
I vaguely remember lone wolf books, but the only other non-FF book that I remember was one with a gimmick! U befriended a talking magic ruby which had the power to give u sight thru a sheet of red mist that had fallen around the world u lived in. The "ruby" was a square of red plastic which u held over the book's illustrations and u could then obtain codes and secrets etc. It was nowhere nearly as tightly written as the FF tho.Unless I dreamt that it existed, and am talking broken biscuits:)
It was ff sized and the square was detached. about 2x3 inches, thickness same as laminate. Thinking hard, it (may) have been tied in with a breakfast cereal, where u had to send off for it with money and few coupons, but it was definitely no pamphlet, it was certainly 3/4 FF thickness. I still see the lad upon occasion, but his memory is shedded, he still thinks he cud kick my arse at hypersports :)
that is- still see the lad (who lent me the book as a kid)- jus realised, I missed a sentence out-uh!

This is the best Speccy Adventure game since Conman the Barbaric in my humble opinion.
You was close on the blood mirror thing. I stole the idea from strangely enough Evildead film.He put his hand into the mirror.
Another great adventure game u might want to review was Daemon.....
Cheers Spinny.

Did you mention drink. Now you're talking my language. Speccy and alcohol...a classic combination.
