@janet1983ohio Janet, I was a Kidney Donor... I gave a kidney to my best friend. He was on dailysis for 3 years before agreeing to let me be tested. Don't give up hope & know that a world of people are praying for you to get your needed surgeries.

@ANewHopeIll God Bless You for thinking about donating your kidney. I own a small business teaching firefighter & spend most of my time training in classroom settings. I took 2 weeks off from that job and had to take 90 days off from the fire department. Depending on what you do for a living your doctor will recomend how long you should be off. I really didn't have any trouble getting back in the swing of things & don't regret donating a kidney.

Mike, I am 51yo and am getting a kidney from my brother on Jan 26th I have had glomerular nephritis for 12 yrs and in Oct my body had enough and I have beenon dialysis for 2 1/2 months I started with a perm cath infected after 3 months-vas cath 3 weeks- a/v graft left upper arm all in 2 months your post op progress looks promising I can only hope to get the same results

Thanks for the great video. I'm in the process of receiving a new kidney soon. I'm currently undergoing hemodialysis. I'm going to receive a live donor's kidney from my boss. I'm excited, frightened, worried. I just hope all goes well. It would make a great Christmas present to receive it in time of the holidays. Hope you're doing much better and thanks for the inspiration and hope.

Thank you for this wonderfull video,,,i have been dialysis for almost 3 years,,i am not on the list becauce i have no insurance,,i have been living in usa for 8 years,,,is anybody outthere can help me to find insurance so i can put my self atleast on list?? thank for everything

I'm sorry to hear that you're not being covered by insurance for your Kidney Transplant. I don't know how to advise you on this matter other than to see what your dialysis provider can do for you.

I want to let everyone know that my donation of a Kidney was really a non-event. If I had a third Kidney I would donate it too. I'm also still listed as an Organ Donor once I pass away. I've made sure that my family knows this as well.

There wasn't any cost to me as the donor... Stephen's insurance paid for all of my expenses...
