And instead didn't Ike decide to champion crooked unions and suburban sprawl via the Highways program, and didn't he build more military bases then any other president? Didn't he encourage the cold war? I do love this speach though:)

Eisenhower once said, with regards to the Military-Industrial-Complex's power, "God help this country when someone sits at this desk who doesn't know as much about the military as I do."
Mike Gravel DOES, and will dismantle its horrible force. As he's said, it "not only controls our economy lock stock and barrel, but it controls our culture."
A leader is one who, notwithstanding opposing forces, sets a clear path mandated by a just cause. Gravel has offered a plan to reverse the violent spiral America has been on for almost 50 years. This video sets it out in abundant clarity. We do have a choice in this election cycle. We can have more of the same. Or we can emerge from this long national nightmare and take the path illumined by Mike's message. I vote for Gravel's message!
Mike says that's the only way to arrive at fundamental change. He says we give away our power on election day. Rather, the people need to be included through a federal initiative process. All the other wannabees TALK about change. Gravel's come up with a plan to provide genuine reform! Help out the candidate with a backbone by spreading the word to friends and family and by contributing what you can: $ or talent and enthusiastic support!
America is the biggest lie ever told. All these jackass people who say they love their founding fathers(Ron Paul supporters)are idiots. This country was founded on the backs of slaves and the blood of Native Americans. There is nothing to be proud of. We have never been free, freedom of speech is new, just look at music or TV 30 yrs ago, no cuss words or anything sexual. We need a new country, by the people
slavery ended a 140 yrs ago the only slaves are those who let themselves be imprisoned. those founding fathers you harp gave the ability of freedom for everyone. they could have started a kingdom but they did not they also knew that things were not going to change overnight but those that could made sure there was a framework for people to be free. so don't judge a book by its cover.how many people do you see watching a britney video on u-tube. lots that the problem
America "The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave" one of the greatest lies ever told. I am oftentimes ashamed to be an American. America is the land of the wicked.

The irony is great.
What Ike was most afraid of was having the presidency occupied by someone who didnt understand the military as well as he did.

Eisenhower's message is as relevant today as ever. I wish more people would heed his warning.

We have never had a candidate who lifted the corporate veil in the style of Sen. Gravel.
Mike is an Amazing Person with great courage.
You are going to win, Rocky! Peace.
