Since we're on the path of recommendations for her, listen to the Seekers' version of "What Have They Done To The Rain?". I have to listen more than once to that gem.
If You think this is Good, Check out "Walk With Me". It's Totally Haunting & leaves you Shivering for the rest of the day.
I've tried looking for another voice like Judith's in the hope that this is a certain Style of Singing. But there's no other Voice like it. She Really is the only person on the Planet that can reduce a person to Tears with a single performance.
Judith is wonderful but so was Karen Carpenter on tracks like " This Masquerade " and Shirley Bassey gas a different style but sensational voixe and presence.
Try Annie Haslam of the 1970's English Group=Renaissance on Songs like "Ashes Are Burning " and "Mother Russia " for another beautiful delivery.
@Isleofskye Thanks for that! The carpenters I'd heard of & they are not really my type tbh. But Renaissance is right up my street with songs like those you mentioned! Bloody hell! Amazing material. It's such a shame we always have to go back to the 60s & 70's for good music in a way though. All the female singers now are about as talented as a politician's hair stylist! They only know how to scream at the top of their voice. Awful.
She's not very well known, but check out 'Carrie Tree'. Thanks.

After 40+ years of knowing my favourite Seekers running order of songs along comes this one and knocks them into a cocked hat. Curse you, Proculled! But very many thanks too, of course! It's a masterpiece!
Hi Proculled.. have to agree with everybody else.. thanks for posting and keeping the music of the seekers alive.. I only have one CD Future road... been looking for their earlier CD's but most places either Sold Out! or don't stock it? I will keep looking tho
There were many good folk singers at this time in history. There was much wrong in the world to sing about. But few singers had the voice of Judith Durham.Take care ADonovan43
What a beautiful song! I've not heard this song performed before, but what a song and another great performance from Judith. Her voice truly has a matchless quality.
I enjoy watching the Seekers videos and hearing again the great music they sang in the sixties. A truly unique sound that has remained fresh and vibrant.
Does the Olive Tree appear on any of their albums?
The "background" flute is somewhat overbearing on this video, distracting slight from Judith's solo, but Judith's powerful, enchanting voice carries this song to new heights. Thanks Proculled. Once again, you've given us a priceless video!
Judith is 25 years old when she recorded this. I have heard that a person is at their peak at that age and it certainly shows in her performance. Perfect.
It's difficult to measure perfection in any terms..... but would this be her best performance? Anything she sings is a revelation but I doubt I have heard her in better voice than this. Is anybody in posession of 'Nobody Knows The Trouble I've Seen' by the Seekers ? ...and can post? best wishes to everyone and thank you Proculled.....Kel.
one of the most perfect songs to have been written by the great Tom Springfield.Judith has such a sweet and pure voice it is difficult to imagine anyone else doing it justice.
Judith Durham of the famed group The Seekers from the 1960's. Probably the finest female vocalist to ever visit my audio senses. Just bought her Diamond night DVD, and it is a real treat
you've just discovered Judith Durham of the 1960's era Australian folk group The Seekers. The sweetest voice of the folk era-nobody is even close. She's in her own league. Watch her video clips on you tube-
Lovely! I love olives, the color olive green, olive trees and doves. Beautiful imagery in this. What wonderful days when I was a kid and you could find music like this. I love ALL music, but this is something rare.
I never got to see a picture of Judith before summer of 1971 when I came over some single records. Before that I could only hear them on the radio,we had no record player.
It certainly is superb, Judith is truly amazing - this was released as her first solo single in the UK and had an orchestral backing, the boys were not involved in this at all. The single reached no 33 in the charts and was then pulled because of the poor quality of the recording, it was then re-released, but by pulling it, EMI shot the sales in the foot. It would have charted far higher if there hadn;t been the sound problems.
Judith's voice is amazing...Such power and emotion... It's clarity and pureness is truly exceptional...She has been blessed with a unique gift...It's a real privilege to hear her sing.
Olive Tree is a beautiful song and Judith sings it with such emotion. It is great to see this show again. I saw it when it was originaly on the telly at home in England. I prefer the versions like her 2003 concert where the arrangement is less busy, but this is A1. Judith is the best and most versatile there is !!
It doesn't say much for today's society when millions have watched Amy Winehouse drunk on stage on a U-Tube video and only a fraction of that number will ever watch this fabulous live performance. Amy W. is not even fit to be the the soles of Judith's shoes
Another gem from the '68 farewell concert...Judith's singing as always is so beautiful...She sings with such emotion and feeling, yet so it's effortless and unforced...It takes a very special ability to be able to do that, and only Judith can...Her voice is unique amongst her female contempories...She has no equal!
A gift.

Judith is a Jewish name. Call me crazy, but I have for some mysterious reason the strong feeling that she is a reincarnation of Mary of Magdalene.
