to the guy below me yes there was some contact but in a late game situation like this you have to let them play. We have all seen hundreds of times when players try to make last minute shots and try to force a foul from the other team and where sometimes it actually looks like they were fouled but it was a no call.. and this one was way off from that.. he simply out jumped him

Yes... When a guy is under the hoop and has rebound positioning and another player clearly jumps into his back, its going to get called. I have watched it 5 times and while I can see where there "might" be a no call, I can also see that the other player was pushed forward by the contact and negated his chances at a rebound. So I am going to say that this was the right call, although very close to being a no call.

It makes it easier to understand Bobby Knight's outrage at officials dictating the outcome of games. All Conferences need to do a better job of getting officials for their games. It is always shame to spend an hour or two watching a game, only to have some dope of an official decide the outcome because of a bad call.

Why the controversy? Jefferson was in an established position to rebound the ball, his arms up ready to rebound and was mowed over by the ASU center crashing the boards. Good Call! I am not a USC fan. I was at the game. Nothing was worse than Stanford and Cal losing to UCLA on two gimme calls.

ASU missed its last 10 shots of the game (according to the announcers). Hard to complain about the call when you don't score in more than 5 minutes. Sucks for ASU but they needed to help themselves more in this one.

agreed that the fact that ASU didnt score for a while doesnt help them but that doesnt mean that cant complain about a call. No matter how many shots they made or missed that was a game deciding call so in my eyes they could complain about whatever the hell they want.
