  • i watched this when i was 13 and it scared the the crap out of me, i had to walk home from my friends house across an old field... i ran in pitch black terrified over that land...... i giggle to myself now when i think about it, great film tho very scary at time

  • 1:23-1:30, cute little things aren't they?

  • THE DEADLY SPAWN! WHAT DO YOU DO! ... er uhmn, i become the narrator. i live forever. fucking nightmare inducing stupid shitcrap 80's movie. DAMN YOU!

  • You have no idea how hard it is to type when you don't have any arms and about 300 teeth.

  • This movie is classic! I remember watching this with my Brother back in the day. They sure don't make 'em like this anymore. Unless you count SLITHER that is.

  • let's drop them in China;all they can eat Chinese food.

  • 0:56 Jurassic Park???

  • @jedra17 Haha totally. Spielberg definitely ripped off 'Deadly Spawn' with that arm gag.

  • This is the only movie that I've come close to barfing on.

    It's SOOOOOOO bloody!

If "SAW" and other more recent things are MORE bloody than this? Glad I haven't seen those yet...

  • classic horror film seen this two years ago on megavideo website and a few more times on megavideo!

  • thumbs up if came here because of Deadly Premenition!

  • Fantastic thanks!! i rented this a couple of times when it came out when i was 8 or 9???, the flesh/face ripping scene at the start now looks just plain crap, but at the time it nearly made my sister spew and a friend of mine had nightmares (he was supposed to be the local tough guy too, he he).

  • What is that thing?! O_o

  • @rubinoos1 the deadly spawn...

  • I love that: what the beeb was that :D (1:16)

  • Oh this is awesome, the original tralier before they changed the name. Thanks!

  • i like trailers that say or show the the movie title like 3 or more times, looks like a good movie, recommended for a splatter/horror fan such as myself?

  • clever campy fun and pretty scary as well as hiliarous seen the entire film on a bootlegged website the monster reminded me of audrey 2 from little shop of horrors movie from 1986!

  • And the morale of this tale, boys and girls? Yeah, thats right - NEVER tangle with creatures with more teeth than the entire Osmond family! o_O

  • Nice Movie.

I think I will buy it on DVD, it was really funny to watch^^

  • My parents let me rent this when I was 7 yrs old; back in 85. What was I thinking? what were my parents thinking?

  • @radrcer just a movie :p

  • I have this on videocassette (Applause Video) and it rocks! Super gory with a fantastic creature.

  • In the end a Godzilla size Alien Spawn came out of the ground next to the house.

Hell....I never saw that one coming.

  • Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. Think I'll pass.

  • I need to watch this

  • one of the most underrated, little seen low budget b-horror/sci fi movies from the early 80s. buckets of blood and gore too!

  • Spielberg stole that shot where a person is carefully creeping around to avoid the threat of a dangerous creature, and then the hand of their friend falls on their shoulder from behind, spooking them temporarily but then lulling them into false security, before doing a double spook after it is realized that the hand is not really part of their living friend anymore! The exact same shot is in Jurassic Park with Laura Dern replacing the woman.

  • @VariedInterest haha and its supposed to be samuel l. jacksons arm! haha

  • Definately

  • The "Land Shark!" He'll knock on your door saying "Candygram". The awesome three headed alien megadeath landshark.

  • Those are, indeed, very acomplished effects for such a modestly budgeted film as this. They must've gotten a vey talented effects artist to work pretty cheaply.

The scene where they attack the old ladies brunch is priceless !!

The good looking girl, who sayes "What the fuck was THAT ?!!!", gets her head chewd off and then regurgitated out by the big monster,.. as I recollect.

  • Man, that brings back memories.

  • WHAT THE ****** WAS THAT?

  • This film got a lot of exposure in Cinemagic magazine back in the day. Now 26 years later, I'm finally seeing live clips!

  • What is that last scene showing that dark castle? Is that Dark Shadows or the movie House of Dark Shadows? Seems like it.

  • Simply awesome ! One of the best low-budget early 80's horror flicks along with Evil Dead and Basketcase ! Hands down ! Impressive effects for the time as well.

Thanks for posting this up ;) Much appreciated !

  • Well... The effects are NOT impressive for it's time-- ALIEN came out a year earlier, and THE THING the same year. They ARE impressive for the budget, though.

  • The effects are INCREDIBLY impressive given the budget. XD Are you kiddin' me? People had to drop out of the picture because they couldn't afford the bus fare to Jersey!

For being made over the course of a few YEARS in one house by a mere handful of people, I think it's marvelous.

  • For a budjet of only 25,000

    the special effects are amazing

  • No argument from me on that score.

  • One of the best monster movies.

  • impressive creature effects, scary looking film reminds me of alien!

  • this is a really good movie

  • od666666 really, how much was the dvd because amazon wanted 15 dollars for it!

  • i got mine on ebay for about 13 bucks shipping and all. I think its worth it..But, I like cheesy 80s horror. I dont know what your into. I got videos up for some other movies i like..So you can kinda see my taste.

  • thanks od666666 i like 80's horror films too!

  • od66666 thanks and can you believe that they are remaking flight of the navigator!

  • That is lame man..Thats the first i heard of that. Flight of the Navigator is great left as it is!

  • i know i found out on imdb website they have more inof and i agree with you od666666!

  • is this a video nasty??

  • I doubt it. Are you nasty? Please say...YES! I love nasty and rough babes.

  • @Vampyr789 The Deadly Spawn was never on the official video nasties list, but the video label it was on in the UK at that time (Vipco) did release a lot of nasties: Zombie Flesh Eaters, Driller Killer, The Bogey Man, Deathtrap, etc.

  • good trailer, the monster looks well crafted at least it is a better monster than it the terror beyond space that monster was a ripoff of the thing from a another world!

  • i can doed these with my hands xD

  • Haha, rape at 1:38?

  • Well spotted! A+++ Hahahaha!

  • You wish!

  • @liamMaru yeah!!!!!that was so hoorrrnnnnn...HAHAHAHA!!!(gotha!!!!!)sooo fuunnyyy!

  • HOHOHOHO TOP COMMENTS, SO TIMELY AND OBSERVANT

BIFF PERSPECTIVE, CHEAPEST SHOTS, PASSAGE OF TIME = 0

  • I love this Film, too. Ich had it on VHS-Cassette and now on DVD... today I had written to the Director on the deady Spawn-Website^^ My english is very bad, it were better I say all in german: Ich liebe diesen Film auch. ich hatte ihn auf VHS und nun auf DVD. Habe heute dem Regisseur eine Email auf der "Deadly Spawn"-Webseite geschrieben^^

  • One the subject of a lower buget horror, can any of yous answer me this?

Is there a difference between a Grindhouse projection and a B-Movie?

  • A grindhouse is an American term for a theater that mainly showed exploitation films. It is named after the defunct burlesque theatres, on 42nd Street, New York, where 'bump n' grind' dancing and striptease used to be on the bill.

Grindhouse films characteristically contain large amounts of sex, violence or bizarre subject matter.

  • agreed sideshowcarny!

  • @notaninvaildname

B-Movies try to do the best with what they have.

Grindhouse movies just try to cram in as much sex and violence as they possibly can.

  • Magistral!

  • Best movie ever!!!! lol

  • 1:18 "What the (bleep) was that?"

Was the trailer really deleted? Weird.

  • tremors is a deadly spawn rip off

  • When are the producers going to go down on the audience.

    Now appearing!!

WE WIll GIVE BLOW JOB'S TO ALL SCREENING MEMBERS.

    the greatest movie everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl

  • This film is classic. Low budget horror at its best.

  • ok bmovie

  • HA! I remember this movie coming in one of the BIG VHS boxes at my local video rental place! So entertaining for such a low budget movie!

  • wow, Jurassic Park copied that arm scene from the Deadly Spawn apparently

  • interesting trailer looks like a 50's b movie.

  • Hmmm - some dark humour just skims over people's heads doesn't it?

  • someone needs braces...

  • probably on its video-nasty list.

  • No it wasn't - it's blatantly a black comedy anyway :)

  • i heard that this movie was banned in london

  • i love this movie have it on dvd. graet

  • This is one of the most brilliant unsung horror films of all time. I can't believe I used to watch this all the time as a kid. Haha, wow.

  • Lol, this is a pretty good poverty row gore flick, with some amusing makeups, and a really obnoxious kid as the lead character, recommended for genre fans.

  • Heh! Loved this movie. For a low budget schlock movie it had some good critter and gore effects.

  • Ripped? Yes...!!!

  • So Jurassic Park's classic "Oh,thank heavens it's you"/severed arm gag was ripped off from this?

  • i love this movie. especialy the twist ending.
