As I was saying before I got cut off, adjusted to today's population All You Need is Love had 1.2 billion people watching it (in reality, 450 million people tuned in at once). Paul McCartney had an enormous range, and John George and Ringo were also good singers. Here, There, and Everywhere, from Revolver, has been called the greatest sing ever. So shut up.
@Kamyu03 Listen, the Beatles had the most impact on music. They created pop with their early songs, such as she loves you. They created heavy metal, which I believe the who are known for, with helter skelter. Freddie Mercury and Brian May have both cited the Beatles as their inspiration. The Beatles song Yesterday is the most covered song in history, and their live broadcast of All You Need is Love is the most simultaneously watched program in history (1.2 billion people, adjusted to today's po
@HornsbyHavoc Wrong, they didn't create metal, not close. They had impact mostly on the media and culture cause of their time, their ''long'' hair was a huge scandal back then. Brian's inspiration was The Who, and Freddie's Elvis, very little of The Beatles in Queen, even Zepp has more in that. 2nd most covered song is besame mucho, so...
Even if all those thing would have been true, it just doesn't make better their music than what it's. And their instrumentalism was far from Who's or Queen's.
@msanm5 1979? lol xD. Boy you're funny, sure you're not an american?. And do I HAVE TO EXPLAIN YOU THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE UK AND ENGLAND?, again, sure you're not an american?
Only the ''big majority'' of musicians in America, in Europe, South America, Japan and perhaps even on South Africa, nop, sorry. I don't care what some ignorant rock american, or old 60s subjective/biased musician says, they're wrong.
@msanm5 1970, duh. If americans are religious and illiterates north irland is fill with alcoholics, same ignorance.
The big majority of american's illiterates and pathetic chauvinists don't agree with me, i'd always know that son. I've lived there, know that there's barely anyone who appreciates classical or jazz, or who could deserve my intellectual respect. And all fall in the same religion and musical taste cause of their parents, they couldn't know how dumb they are. So dumb countries, pff.
@msanm5 Nop, it's pretty clear how cornered you are, with all your fallacys, funny you'd said something about crying. Don't make a big deal out of it.
The majority of the american people don't agree with me, indeed. Why do you keep repeating the same stuff, well, it's pretty obvious why. And popularity doesn't mean higher quality, another fallacy. And less popularity in America. The facts and reality remains the same, Beaatles are not the number 1.
@msanm5 No i don't, i just point out the meaninglessness of your so called arguments. MJ is best selling soloist as well, just around 150 millions below the Beatles. Another meaningless and insignificant argument that proves you're wrong.
On the only thing that you are right, is that they are considered no.1 in America, i've been showing you that and how poor are your ''arguments''.
@msanm5 Yes but i'm smarter and know more about music that you do. So i guess you must be a huge Justin Bieber fan being how important it's to sell lots of records in your opinion :).
As i told you, i never argued the fact that beatles are no.1... in America.
And that people are dumb and ignorant... in America. That doesn't change reality, and way less the facts, it's just... America.
@msanm5 Of course, your opinion and the opinion of... Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Akon, Usher it's... meaningless, cause you know nothing about actually good and great music. Those are the facts, i accept'em, they're dumb, they're american, fact checked.
@Kamyu03 I see. you´re going to keep crying about it.
Once again, your opinion wont change anything. Beatles win almost every poll you see. They´re praise by musicians like Brian May, who is not american by the way.
@msanm5 Not being ignorant and a poor american who believes the beatles were the best, well i yes for people like that, actually being smart and having musical taste and knowledge is something rare.
Fail. Certainly the most popular band, but mostly hyped only in America, and they top only american lists (and what a lists). Just that, that doesn't speaks very well of the beatles, even tough they were one of the best bands of all time, but not the best by chance, there were few betters. That they are on the books of american highschool it's meaningless, it's nothing new they were the most popular band in America, and also that american education is 3rd worldy.
@msanm5 It's nothing but just your oppinion what you just said. The Beatles were innovative at their time, influential... on certain aspects of the industry, and pop culture (in USA mainly), i mean they were a scandal because of their ''long hairs''. That says a lot. When it comes to musical influence, there are other artists as influential as they, and even more. When it comes to rock music, The Beatles's influence simply can't stand against The Who's.
@msanm5 ''You just dont know what you´re talking about.'' Indeed, what americans believe it's meaningless, because of their illiteracy and popularity of the beatles with their dads so they believe'em, it's the same with dumb religions. Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Queen, David Bowie, U2, are just a few artist that claimed they were influenced by the Who. And what a few names.
And that fallacy of 'there are proves', that's what some MJ fanboys also claim about his influence: just plainignorance.
@Kamyu03 What you believe is meaningless, because you dont understand it and also you wont change anything.
Beatles are the most critically acclaimed band.
Ozzy Osbourne, Brian May(Queen), Kurt Cobain, Charles Manson and many others have Beatles as their favorite.
Even Pete Townshed said he was a ´´huge monumental fan of the Beatles´´...and that the song ´´Eleanor Rigby´´...´´was a great musical forward and influence for him´´.
@msanm5 That just proves their popularity, and you got some wrong facts, Brian May's inspiration and favorite band was The Who, not The Beatles. They might be the most critically acclaimed band in America, only in America. Nothing new. And by folks like Ozzy Osbourne and others from that generation.
What America thinks it's good it's meaningless. It can also be proven with arguments, and more objective points of view. It'd like saying Jazz is superior to other forms of pop music. The Who>Beatles
Brian May:´´No one can beat the Beatles, we´re total realists´´. ´´I´m the biggest Beatle fan on earth, I always vote for them´´. Also his favorite song is a Lennon song.
I will repeat it to you again, you can have your own opinion. But the majority of critics and musicians dont agree with you.
@msanm5 No, and Brian is from Ozzy's generation. They'd go for some Elvis Presley. Freddie's favorite artist were Led Zeppelin, Presley and Hendrix. There is little to none of beatles in Queen, you know nothing of queen so don't expose yourself talking about what you know nothing about.
Again your american childish oppinion doesn't change anything, and way less the facts. What you keep repeating only applies to America, therefore it's insignificant. Everybody knows that.
@msanm5 No, because talking about USA THEY'D PUT MICHAEL JACKSON AS THE GREATEST ARTIST OF ALL TIME, just behind the beatles, as they did in 2010 LMAO!. The thing with americans it's not only their illiteracy and little fond of classical and jazz, but that they just repeat what their parents told'em, it's like religion. It's like why they are all christians, it's as dum as christianity, their ranking and oppinions.
Other Brian favorites were the Everly brothers and Buddy holly.
The majority of critics and musicians in England say Beatles are the best. Remember Beatles broke up in England and then into USA. Beatles were international musicians.
Anyway, I told you...those lists are better than your chidlish opinion.
I dont care who comes second, the only thing that matters is that Beatles are at 1. They deserve it.
@msanm5 No, now you just are contradicting yourself and lying. English musicians maybe if they are from that 60s generation, but on the other hand it's false. Only in America, as everybody knows. Btw never read a self-respected non-american ranking that had the Beatles in the first place.
My opinion is superior to yours an most of americans. Since i listen to classical and jazz, and actually KNOW why these are the superior forms of music. You, who'd never listen to Beethoven's 3rd, pff.
hey idiot. the beatles are the highest selling artist of all time. you cant argue that. plus thriller sold 120,000,000 copies. i really despise people who think they are right when they are really just wrong and dont know shit
Also, to all those MJ fans out there, remember this: The Beatles were MJ's heroes and he looked up to them and was also greatly influenced by them. Just remember that the next time you start insulting The Beatles for no reason and keep going off on some tangent that MJ reigns supreme.
Wow, so much arguing over some stupid little thing. It doesn't matter who the greatest rock artist of all time was. Just be thankful that all these amazing, talented people decided to share their gifts with the world and be thankful that we can actually be around to enjoy them. One last thing, to the people who are bringing race into this argument, I'm sorry, but you must be very stupid to think that race plays any part in it at all.
They are my 2nd favorite band, but even I can't argue with them at #1. I simply cannot think of a better and more influential band. Love Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers? Elton John? Elliott Smith? MANY others....who would they be without the Beatles?
it still amazes me how there they only band in history to change the whole face of the earth with there music god must had made it faith for the most talented 4 musicians to come together and change everything no matter who you are or how old everyone has at least heard one beatle song in there life time
Beatles are also number1 on Rolling Stone magazine list.I mean, where are they not number 1?Theyre simply unrivaled. Not ranking TheBeatles at number1 is to admit that ure not musically educated.By far,the greatest of all time. The second place, whoever it might be(probably The Rolling Stones),is light years behind The Beatles. They beat the others in any aspect you want:critical acclaim, importance(influence, impact, relevance),achievements (success commercial and in the charts),popularity. You name it
they dont have to be your favorite, but you should always admit that they have the most in album sales and a bigger impact on music and culture than anyone. they are in american history books for highschools and colleges for christ sakes. thats why they ARE the best. not always everyones favorite. but always the best
@ragingbull2001 Actually the eagles hold the highest sales for an album (eagles greatest hits volume 1) and pink floyd holds the records for an album consecutively on the charts (Dark side of the moon for 741 weeks) while i think the beatles are the best...i don't know about #1 in rock n roll
Trying to compare anything or anyone to The Beatles is making yourself look like a clown. It's just laughable. It's practicallly unanimous nowadays to consider themselves the best ever. They top every damn list I see. From the Rolling Stones magazine to VH1. The second greatest music act ever, whoever it may be, is light-years away from The Beatles, just to have an idea of how huge those guys are.
WOW THE BEATLES INFLUENCED EVERYBODY ? ? ? LOL WHAT ? ? ?
Oh wow i just love how they influenced BACH , MOZART , BEETHOVEN , SHUBERT , CHOPIN , MENDELSSOHN , AND HUNDREDS OF OTHER CLASSICAL MUSIC GIANTS OVER THE LAST 300 YEARS ! ! !
Well of course i'am being a smart ass vh1 is a damn joke and full of shit but this is only my opinion of course and every body has the right to their own opinion , but of course the beatles are very very overrated ! ! !
@ScullyboyDX oh i'am sorry , this list is about rock n roll oh ! ! ! ok i'am sorry then i would say elvis presley at number one ! ! !
i thought this list was greatest music artists of all time or the 20th century ! ! !
the beatles are very close to number one on a greatest rock n roll artist list , but on a greatest music artist of all time list the beatles would not even be in the top 100 ! ! ! or 200 ! ! !
@MrLedzeppelinfan33 Thats just immature biased rating. The Beatles had a new number one hit every three and a half months. Noone else can say that.Stop being "cool" by not liking the Beatles, Almost every artist after them was influenced by them.
@bluegrassreb1 what i was saying was artists who have had the most influence on music history , not rock n roll only ! ! !
rock n roll has only been around since 1955 ! ! !
in 2010 vh1 made a list called the 100 greatest artists of all time , the beatles were number one , that is fine if that list represents music history from 1963 - 2012 , but what is wrong is the all time part ! ! !
@bluegrassreb1 maybe this is the wrong video for me posting comments like these , after all it does the 100 greatest artists of rock n roll , not 100 greatest music artists of all time ! ! !
@MrLedzeppelinfan33 i am sorry for my abbrasive talk. i agree with u almost 100%. The show was artist of R-N-R. But i love so much music outside of rock. The 2010 episode also has The Beatles at #1. But it would be cool to somehow have "Top artist of ALL time". But too many genres...PEACE
Anyone who disagrees with The Beatles being the greatest of all time is just a fool and doesn't really deserve much attention. They are the only band that indeed chaged the world and that's not exaggerating at all. By far, the greatest of all time without a shadow of doubt. Sorry, but you just don't have good knowledge in music if you think otherwise, simple as that.
NOW ALL OF YOU STUPID ASS MUTHU-FUCKAS,CAN GO SUCK YOUR MOMMA'S SHRIBBLED UP COCK & EAT YOUR DADDY'S YEAST-INFECTED,BLOODY,DISCHARGING PUSSY!!! Now shut up bitchesssssss!!
The dirty ass Beatles wanted to pay Motown 1/12 cents, while Motown wanted at least 3cents,they settled for 2 cents, but this negotiation was done, although the Beatles & their label,& Manager had already recorded, packcaged & had pallets full of the songs ready for the trucks 2 distribute! I might be a little off on the amount negotiated, but I think I'm pretty close to it. Anywayz,I don't ever want 2 hear or read, how gifted, innocent & revolutionary the overrated Beatles were or are! SW is GOD!
if MTV did'nt support Michael Jackson's (Thriller) album! That would have meant that,MTV would'nt have been able to play any artist signed to CBS/Sony/Columbia(Men At Work,Culture Club, etc.)! As 4 the Beatle fans who say that,Michael Jackson buying & owning the Beatles music was shrude or even low-down,let me tell you what the Beatles did. They recorded, packaged & was ready 2 distribute a lot of Motown classics while they were in negotiations with Motown over covering Motown songs!
But the main thrust of the fight came from Rick James! Once they found out that,Rick & Prince did'nt like each other, they started playing Prince Videos, never played any of Rick's! Rick James still sold over 75mil,without any help from racist Viacom,MTV/VH-1. Rick James albums were selling millions, while Prince was still a cult figure! Rick James concerts in the 80s,out grossed everybodies, except the Stones! Sony/CBS threatened MTV with pulling their entire roster of artist off the playlist
@mrinnervisionz you are oficially an idiot, stevie wonder better than beethoven???By the way Mccartney is by a billion better than stevie wonder, vocally mccartney could be the best screamer and the most romantic soft ballader at the same time, stevie wonder is ok but dont compare him with names is like the beatles. For me Mccartney is stil underrated he should be second after the beatles
@MyDreamside get a life, McCartney is overrated as a singer, i mean he wasn't much of a vocalist like Mercury, Presley and Jackson, he was a good singer but it wasn't something really great like the others that i mentioned. the beatles were better with each other but McCartney had a good solo career, and as for being a musician... i would give him credit for that, he was definitely good at it.
@jame1993abc He has the clearest vocals, He never Double Tracked, NothingGreat? Listen to McCartney or Chaos and creationin the backyard. He was an unbelievably great lyricist. He is underrated and many of his songs are often credited to mistakenly to John.
@jame1993abc First of all, I never said he was better then MJ. MJ is a great vocalist. Overall, Paul McCartney was a better musician. MJ will always be remembered as objectively one of the greatest enterteiners second only to Freddie Mercury. But undoubtedly Paul McCartney overall was always a better musician.
If it was'nt for Rick James calling Viacom/MTV the racist, which they were & still ARE,MJ & Prince would'nt have been on MTV as soon as they were! Rick James & MTV engaged in an all out war against each other. While Stevie was busy getting the Dr. King holiday,& other artist were unable,or unwilling 2 take on MTV for their racist views,Rick was the only 1 out there challenging them! Herbie Hancock made his (Rock It) video with robots,so it could be played on MTV,Grace Jones joined Rick!
All you Beatle fanactics, put their work up against Stevie Wonder's,song against song, album against album, there you will get your champion of music,SW hands down!! By the way Stevie Wonder has more grammies than any other artist/band or group,(26 Grammies) and counting! The Beatles were really good, but Earth,Wind & Fire, was much better. Michael Jackson has the biggest selling ALBUMS, in the history of the music biz! FYI. Rick James is responsible for black artist videos, being played on MTV!
@msanm5 Dude I hope you are not saying that, I don't know my music?! I know music, comics & dogs, & some sports! If you read what I have posted, then it should be obvious to you or anybody else, that I know what in the hell i'm talking about.
@mrinnervisionz But you didn't explain why the beatles were musically crap. Most of what you said was I DONT WANNA HEAR THIS AND THAT MUTHA FUCKS CAN GO SUCK MOTHER SHIT FUCK DUCK.
Seriously dude, just stop. The Beatles were great and were lyrical geniuses. Even critics who don't like the Beatles have admitted that the Beatles are musical geniuses.
@MunisAwesome ..First of all I never said they were crap. Go back and read all the comments that I posted. I said they were overated and their popularity was driven by a very successful hype machine. I stand by everything I posted. Bye
@mrinnervisionz Ï used that world as a put together of all your comments on the beatles such as "overrated Beatles". As in you didn't explain why they were dirty ass or overrated. I mean one of your comments was just dedicated to swearing and insulting musicians. Hype Machine? It took them years to become famous, Listen to their albums after 1965. The Double meanings, the lyrical structure, the flow between the tunes and the lyrics. I stand by everything I posted. Bye
I'm about 2 play the race card here, cause it's realz! Stevie Wonder's 1st #1 song in the UK was (I Just Called To Say I Love You),which I believe is bullshit, because how do You sale over 150mil records & that is your 1st #1 song?! Everything else was #2,3,4,top 5 or 10. White people, especially the Brits, did'nt want Stevie Wonder to out sale, produce, play the damn Beatles. The Beatles were a fantastic hype & image fenom, white girls screaming & chasing them! SW is the true GOD of Music!!
On Michael Jackson's (Off The Wall) album, which sold 8million,both McCartney(Girlfriend) & Stevie(I Can't Help It) gave MJ a song each for the album. You tell me which songs is the more beautiful, deep,& just all around better song. Stevie Wonder is the #1 greatest artist in all of music, the Beethoven,Mozart of our time! Michael Jackson's album(Blood On The Dance Floor, still sold 11mil worldwide,& least commercial album(Invincible) sold 4mil. Stevie's album sales are past 150mil!
Kurzweil Music Systems said that Stevie Wonder asked if it was possible to make an electronic keyboard,/synth that re-produced authentic sounding instruments, particuliarlly acoustic & grand pianos,organs,strings,drums/percussion. Kurzweil also said that weighted keys on electronic synths came from the mind of Stevie Wonder, thus was born the (Kurzweil 250)! Go 2 their web site & read the goddamn article if U don't believe me! The Beatles wrote simplistic ass songs that sold gazillions.
Stevie Wonder is the greatest singer/songwriter,producer,arranger,multi-instrumentalist,civil & human rights advocate, humanitarian in music ever! Lennon & McCartney can't fuck with Stevie Wonder & never could lyrically, musically or producing! Stevie Wonder can play almost any instrument,he revolutionized the keybass technique. MJ spent 2yrs watching & learning as SW wrote, arranged & produced & played his Songs In The Key Of Life album. Stevie Wonder is the GOD of ALL music!
The Beatles are overrated & have always been! They are followed closely by the Stones,Dylan & Nirvana. In Earth,Wind & Fire's heyday, they would kick all of these group/band asses lrycally, vocally & musically. Maurice White's production skillz are right up there with Quincy Jones & Stevie Wonder. Michael Jackson is the greatest stage performer & entertainer that ever lived,he also revolutionized music videos. NOBODY has ever sold 106million copies of 1 album, but MJ! Bad25mil,Dangerous20mil.
@lamusicapd Um, no. Van Halen was paid 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS for ONE CONCERT at the Us Festival in 1983. It was a record at the time. No way McCartney has topped that. And their last tour grossed almost 100 million dollars. And just because the Beatles came first does not make them better. The Ford Model T came before the Ford Mustang, you think the Model T is better just because it's influential? Every single member of Van Halen outclasses the Beatles on their respective instrument. Fact.
I remember getting stoned and listening to Abbey Road one night back in 2003. It blew my mind and I immediately bought all of their albums within the next couple weeks! No band has ever captivated me in the same lasting way that The Beatles did.
Van Halen should be number 1. Were the Beatles the most influential? Absolutely. But that doesn't make them the greastest ROCK band of all time. Eddie Van Halen is the greatest guitar player ever, and David Lee Roth is the greatest frontman of all time. Look up "Van Halen Unchained 1981 live" in the searchbar. No one comes close to them.
Soo glad michael Jackson isn't number one because he was no. 1 on the greatest music tragedies which have should've been John Lennon and dimebag Darrell the guitarist from pantera who was shot on stage wasn't even on that list. But anyways the beatles will always be the best ever period and everyone who came after them was influenced by them. So the beatles are the greatest
Any list that has rappers on it is an absolute crock of shit .As soon as I saw Notorious B i G along with the other rappers I realized that the list is a joke. Also Alicia Keys being on the list and the Eagles not made me vomit. Oh my god I'm going to throw up again because I just saw Justin Timberlake on the list too.Are those that voted for this list deaf ? Michael jackson ahead of Bob Marley Prince and Earth wind and fire are other things that make me want to vomit
Yet you think everyone who says anything about blacks you presume they are racist! Maybe if you stop being the person that whites stereotypes as the "typical" black, maybe they would leave you alone, but noooo.... You just run your mouth like some sort of Nazi. Just live your life man! And get off the fucking computer!
I am sick of Lashid4u. He is in I think every vh1 I've watched and always whined about black struggle! We get it! We had to do a whole lesson of black struggle. We know how bad you got it. For over 500 years! You don't know how good you have it now Lashid. Blacks never got it good till the 1900s. The president of USA is an African American.
@azmichael34 You're sick of Lashid because Lashid's hitting your ass w/ the truth. Wow, we'ze got 1 black pressudent outta 44, white folk be so kind! *tap dancing*
Better writer: I'll give it to the Beatles, but MJ's songs were simple, but universal, and REACHED HEARTS more (i.e., "Man in the Mirror" [he co-wrote] and "Heal the World")
Final question:
Ask someone in Tibet who is Paul McCartney ..and then ask who is Michael Jackson ...CASE CLOSED!
@godzillo96 Although I may not have been alive w/ the Beatles were at their peak, you STILL can not fool me with that one. The Beatles were more of a sensation, changing Western music, however, MJ was WAY MORE sensationAL, and not just to Western (primarily British & white American) audiences. Not to mention, the many doors he opened for black artists, being the first to be played on MTV, etc. And whose career lasted longer? Who was entertaining from the womb? MJ entertained ALL HIS LIFE!
@Lashid4u Ever heard of the British Invasion? America wouldn't even allow British music to be played on their radios. The Beatles had to overcome that, which by doing so opened the door for many British artists. And if you ask me, that was much harder than trying to make it as an American black man. The Beatles also sold more albums in places like Argentina, Japan, and Brazil than Michael Jackson. So find some better arguments.
@daedsiluap1 But what's sadder is that black artists had already lived in this country, yet, could not get airplay (even 'til this day, black artists have to deal w/ that). Michael had to open doors (IN THE 80s, when you wouldn't have expected such discrimination) for minority artists on MTV, while Brit artists were played who copied black music, such as Duran Duran.
@daedsiluap1 The Beatles could be themselves, while black artists had to TOTALLY crossover (like Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke AND Michael Jackson) to get any sort of airplay. HOW DARE YOU even try to compare the struggle of the British artist w/ the struggle of the African American artists! The same thing is going on today - Black artists have to put techno music and autotune in every damn song to keep from sounding too "soulful", while an Amy Whinehouse can play "soul sista" all she wants.
@daedsiluap1 And I doubt your claim that the Beatles sold more albums in those countries than Michael - I believe that's TOTAL bullshit, right there ...and MJ kicked ass as a SOLO artist, WAY more talented as an entertainer. Just about ALL forms of American music derive from blacks (from rock, to country, to the blues), yet, SO MANY blacks died broke and w/o any credit (ELVIS, NOT Little Richard, Chuck Berry, or Ike Turner, is the "king"). And you speak of the British struggle?
@daedsiluap1 ..and it aint just about album sales. In that case, Souljah Boy's a better rapper than Rakim. Who has REACHED more people through their music, universally? I'm sorry, but songs such as "We Are the World", "Man in the Mirror", and "Heal the World" can reach the heart faster than "Revolution." The Beatles' songs spoke, primarily, to a specific generation, unlike MJ's songs, which reaches different ages, races, cultures AND generations. I'm people in Japan will know Michael before Paul
@Lashid4u I really wish you spent the time to learn about the Beatles before you went about bashing them. The Beatles "being themselves" included fighting, slicked back hair, speed, and leather jackets and pants. Tell me, does that sound anything like the Beatles you see? They had to "TOTALLY crossover." And you're twisting my words. I'm not hating African American artists or saying that they didn't have it hard, but no Brits had ever made it in America before. Blacks had been since the 1920s.
@daedsiluap1 What's sad is that such bias from the majority cause you to bash artists that you, actually, like. But I haven't bashed the Beatles. My point is that Michael Jackson should have been voted as #1,and I backed this up by comparing TALENT (much of it is natural) and universal appeal (UNIVERSAL). Yes, the Beatles were groundbreaking, but so was MJ ..and it's sad, because I don't really think people REALLY see his genius as an artist - think he's just another singing & dancing "figure".
@daedsiluap1 ..and you speak of the Brittish "struggle" ...Ike Turner made the first, official rock & roll song, "Rocket 88", and he helped artists such as BB King get discovered..Elvis revealed to him that he would watch him perform, and study him, yet, he was not listed. I don't even think Lil' Richard was in the top 50, and he, and Chuck Berry were the TRUE KINGS! Yet, I saw MANY British artists listed, and in the top 10, as well, although Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson weren't listed AT ALL!
@Dramactica How the fuck the race card get in the deck in the first muh-fuggin' place? I don't think we put it there, if we don't hold the deck ...so, if you don't want the shit played, then don't deal it ..otherwise, I'm gonna play that shit, and I'm gonna play it well (that's why that's all the fuck you can respond with)
@Lashid4u Yes, I know that blacks created rock and roll and that Bill Haley and Elvis stole credit, but what does that have to do with anything?! You're also accusing me of being a sheep when I'm willing to bet that you didn't have these feelings until after MJ died and the media was telling you how amazing he was. And how is he more talented? MJ died off. Paul's albums are still going platinum.
@daedsiluap1 Yeah, of course, we ALL KNOW that Michael isn't selling anymore, although none of Paul's albums STILL have surpassed Thriller in sales..lol ..And the only reason that they have sold more, is because whites will do shit like buy 10 and 20 albums of the same shit to keep them on top, making that superiority statement, NOT because more people love their music, DEFINITELY not universally - maybe in the Western world, where whites are the majority ..What the fuck would you expect?
@MyGodzilla99 Before you diss black music, you should know that just about ALL American music derives from Afro-American music (including country & house ) you would have no rock-n-roll if not for the rhythm & blues (R&B) artists such as Ruby Brown, Big Mama Thornton (who made the ORIGINAL Hound Dog - NOT Elvis), Bo Diddly, Ike Turner ....And rap derives from Jamaican toasting, pro-black poets of the 60s, and is traced back to West African Griots. So, fuck you, and anyone who thinks like you
i was laughing so hard the other day when i was listening to the radio, and they were doing a whole our of just Beatles music, and the DJ said John, Paul, George, but forgot Ringo's name
@jalice408 The name of that song is called "Revolution." It was released as a single on the B-Side to "Hey Jude" in 1968. It can be found on Past Masters, Vol. 2 or The Beatles '67-'70.
Song, not sing. Sorry

Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 1970.
I know the difference, kid. The only thing that matters is that it´s not an american magazine, like I told you.
Like I said, you can think whatever you want, just know that the big majority don´t agree with you.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 1970, duh. If americans are religious and illiterates north irland is fill with alcoholics, same ignorance.
The big majority of american's illiterates and pathetic chauvinists don't agree with me, i'd always know that son. I've lived there, know that there's barely anyone who appreciates classical or jazz, or who could deserve my intellectual respect. And all fall in the same religion and musical taste cause of their parents, they couldn't know how dumb they are. So dumb countries, pff.
Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 You can always cry.
But remember that the majority of people dont agree with you.
You complaining wont change anything. Beatles are considereed 1.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 Nop, it's pretty clear how cornered you are, with all your fallacys, funny you'd said something about crying. Don't make a big deal out of it.
The majority of the american people don't agree with me, indeed. Why do you keep repeating the same stuff, well, it's pretty obvious why. And popularity doesn't mean higher quality, another fallacy. And less popularity in America. The facts and reality remains the same, Beaatles are not the number 1.
Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 Why do I keep repeating the same stuff?
Because you keep crying and complaining about how americans don´t understand you or music.
Beatles are considered 1 by the big majority of music sources. Also, Beatles are the best selling artist.
If this happened in the US, I don´t care. The thing is that they are considered 1.
If you don´t agree, keep crying about it.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 No i don't, i just point out the meaninglessness of your so called arguments. MJ is best selling soloist as well, just around 150 millions below the Beatles. Another meaningless and insignificant argument that proves you're wrong.
On the only thing that you are right, is that they are considered no.1 in America, i've been showing you that and how poor are your ''arguments''.
Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 It is meaningless in your opinion.
Just how I think your opinion is meaningless.
Dont argue facts. You wont change anything.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 Yes but i'm smarter and know more about music that you do. So i guess you must be a huge Justin Bieber fan being how important it's to sell lots of records in your opinion :).
As i told you, i never argued the fact that beatles are no.1... in America.
And that people are dumb and ignorant... in America. That doesn't change reality, and way less the facts, it's just... America.
Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 You´re just a dumb kid. And you don´t even analyze what I´m telling you.
You keep complaining? once again, you can think what you want, but you won´t change anything.
Just how you think those music sources are meaningless, that´s what I think about your opinion.
Don´t argue facts.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 Of course, your opinion and the opinion of... Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Akon, Usher it's... meaningless, cause you know nothing about actually good and great music. Those are the facts, i accept'em, they're dumb, they're american, fact checked.
Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 I see. you´re going to keep crying about it.
Once again, your opinion wont change anything. Beatles win almost every poll you see. They´re praise by musicians like Brian May, who is not american by the way.
Dont argue facts.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 Yes, they win almost every poll in America. There is no arguing there.

Kamyu03 1 week ago
@Kamyu03 Beatles were the most influential and innovatived band.
If you like other bands better, it´s just your opinion.
msanm5 3 days ago
@msanm5 It's nothing but just your oppinion what you just said. The Beatles were innovative at their time, influential... on certain aspects of the industry, and pop culture (in USA mainly), i mean they were a scandal because of their ''long hairs''. That says a lot. When it comes to musical influence, there are other artists as influential as they, and even more. When it comes to rock music, The Beatles's influence simply can't stand against The Who's.
Just (mostly) American oppinions.
Kamyu03 2 days ago
@Kamyu03 Beatles influenced more than the Who.
Here´s what you dont understand...influence is not that easy to see, but its measurable until a certain point.
There are proves that Beatles were more influential than the WHO and all other rock bands.
You just dont know what you´re talking about.
msanm5 2 days ago
@msanm5 ''You just dont know what you´re talking about.'' Indeed, what americans believe it's meaningless, because of their illiteracy and popularity of the beatles with their dads so they believe'em, it's the same with dumb religions. Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Queen, David Bowie, U2, are just a few artist that claimed they were influenced by the Who. And what a few names.
And that fallacy of 'there are proves', that's what some MJ fanboys also claim about his influence: just plainignorance.
Kamyu03 2 days ago
@Kamyu03 What you believe is meaningless, because you dont understand it and also you wont change anything.
Beatles are the most critically acclaimed band.
Ozzy Osbourne, Brian May(Queen), Kurt Cobain, Charles Manson and many others have Beatles as their favorite.
Even Pete Townshed said he was a ´´huge monumental fan of the Beatles´´...and that the song ´´Eleanor Rigby´´...´´was a great musical forward and influence for him´´.
There are many more cases I can show you.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 That just proves their popularity, and you got some wrong facts, Brian May's inspiration and favorite band was The Who, not The Beatles. They might be the most critically acclaimed band in America, only in America. Nothing new. And by folks like Ozzy Osbourne and others from that generation.
What America thinks it's good it's meaningless. It can also be proven with arguments, and more objective points of view. It'd like saying Jazz is superior to other forms of pop music. The Who>Beatles
Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 Wrong.
You wont change anything, kid.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 No, and Brian is from Ozzy's generation. They'd go for some Elvis Presley. Freddie's favorite artist were Led Zeppelin, Presley and Hendrix. There is little to none of beatles in Queen, you know nothing of queen so don't expose yourself talking about what you know nothing about.
Again your american childish oppinion doesn't change anything, and way less the facts. What you keep repeating only applies to America, therefore it's insignificant. Everybody knows that.
Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 That´s what Brian May said, don´t argue facts.
Also, someone close the Mercury said that Beatle´s music was like ´´bible´´ to Mercury. Maybe I´ll search for the link.
I´m not american. Also, all those critics opinions, even if they are from USA, it´s more important that your chidlish opinion. So shut up.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 No, because talking about USA THEY'D PUT MICHAEL JACKSON AS THE GREATEST ARTIST OF ALL TIME, just behind the beatles, as they did in 2010 LMAO!. The thing with americans it's not only their illiteracy and little fond of classical and jazz, but that they just repeat what their parents told'em, it's like religion. It's like why they are all christians, it's as dum as christianity, their ranking and oppinions.
Other Brian favorites were the Everly brothers and Buddy holly.
Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 Not only americans.
They deserve it.
msanm5 1 day ago
@msanm5 No, now you just are contradicting yourself and lying. English musicians maybe if they are from that 60s generation, but on the other hand it's false. Only in America, as everybody knows. Btw never read a self-respected non-american ranking that had the Beatles in the first place.
My opinion is superior to yours an most of americans. Since i listen to classical and jazz, and actually KNOW why these are the superior forms of music. You, who'd never listen to Beethoven's 3rd, pff.
Kamyu03 1 day ago
@Kamyu03 Incorrect.
Beatles were voted ´´Best band´´ for 8 years in a row, until 1979 when they broke up. That magainze was called ´´Melody Maker´´...from UK.
I´m sure there are more, it´s just a matter of searching. But there you go, that´s one.
Your opinion is not the same as many critics not only from US, but the UK.
Your opinion is not the same as May´s and many many others top rock musicians.
The big majority says the same thing. But if you think yours is better, good. :)

No one comes close to them.
wimpyliberalbuster32 1 year ago

People act like the Beatles invented music. Sure, they were great and influential, but they weren't the end-all be-all of rock music.

Better Singer: Michael, by far
Better dancer: C'mon, son!
Better instrumenatlists: The Beatles
Better performer: Guess who?
Better writer: I'll give it to the Beatles, but MJ's songs were simple, but universal, and REACHED HEARTS more (i.e., "Man in the Mirror" [he co-wrote] and "Heal the World")
Final question:
Ask someone in Tibet who is Paul McCartney ..and then ask who is Michael Jackson ...CASE CLOSED!
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@Lashid4u But the Beatles were bigger in their time than MJ in his time
godzillo96 1 year ago
@godzillo96 Although I may not have been alive w/ the Beatles were at their peak, you STILL can not fool me with that one. The Beatles were more of a sensation, changing Western music, however, MJ was WAY MORE sensationAL, and not just to Western (primarily British & white American) audiences. Not to mention, the many doors he opened for black artists, being the first to be played on MTV, etc. And whose career lasted longer? Who was entertaining from the womb? MJ entertained ALL HIS LIFE!
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@Lashid4u Ever heard of the British Invasion? America wouldn't even allow British music to be played on their radios. The Beatles had to overcome that, which by doing so opened the door for many British artists. And if you ask me, that was much harder than trying to make it as an American black man. The Beatles also sold more albums in places like Argentina, Japan, and Brazil than Michael Jackson. So find some better arguments.
daedsiluap1 1 year ago
@daedsiluap1 But what's sadder is that black artists had already lived in this country, yet, could not get airplay (even 'til this day, black artists have to deal w/ that). Michael had to open doors (IN THE 80s, when you wouldn't have expected such discrimination) for minority artists on MTV, while Brit artists were played who copied black music, such as Duran Duran.
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@daedsiluap1 The Beatles could be themselves, while black artists had to TOTALLY crossover (like Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke AND Michael Jackson) to get any sort of airplay. HOW DARE YOU even try to compare the struggle of the British artist w/ the struggle of the African American artists! The same thing is going on today - Black artists have to put techno music and autotune in every damn song to keep from sounding too "soulful", while an Amy Whinehouse can play "soul sista" all she wants.
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@daedsiluap1 And I doubt your claim that the Beatles sold more albums in those countries than Michael - I believe that's TOTAL bullshit, right there ...and MJ kicked ass as a SOLO artist, WAY more talented as an entertainer. Just about ALL forms of American music derive from blacks (from rock, to country, to the blues), yet, SO MANY blacks died broke and w/o any credit (ELVIS, NOT Little Richard, Chuck Berry, or Ike Turner, is the "king"). And you speak of the British struggle?
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@daedsiluap1 ..and it aint just about album sales. In that case, Souljah Boy's a better rapper than Rakim. Who has REACHED more people through their music, universally? I'm sorry, but songs such as "We Are the World", "Man in the Mirror", and "Heal the World" can reach the heart faster than "Revolution." The Beatles' songs spoke, primarily, to a specific generation, unlike MJ's songs, which reaches different ages, races, cultures AND generations. I'm people in Japan will know Michael before Paul
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@Lashid4u I really wish you spent the time to learn about the Beatles before you went about bashing them. The Beatles "being themselves" included fighting, slicked back hair, speed, and leather jackets and pants. Tell me, does that sound anything like the Beatles you see? They had to "TOTALLY crossover." And you're twisting my words. I'm not hating African American artists or saying that they didn't have it hard, but no Brits had ever made it in America before. Blacks had been since the 1920s.
daedsiluap1 1 year ago
@daedsiluap1 What's sad is that such bias from the majority cause you to bash artists that you, actually, like. But I haven't bashed the Beatles. My point is that Michael Jackson should have been voted as #1,and I backed this up by comparing TALENT (much of it is natural) and universal appeal (UNIVERSAL). Yes, the Beatles were groundbreaking, but so was MJ ..and it's sad, because I don't really think people REALLY see his genius as an artist - think he's just another singing & dancing "figure".
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@Lashid4u I know what your problem is, you hate love.
goofygoobe92 1 year ago
@daedsiluap1 ..and you speak of the Brittish "struggle" ...Ike Turner made the first, official rock & roll song, "Rocket 88", and he helped artists such as BB King get discovered..Elvis revealed to him that he would watch him perform, and study him, yet, he was not listed. I don't even think Lil' Richard was in the top 50, and he, and Chuck Berry were the TRUE KINGS! Yet, I saw MANY British artists listed, and in the top 10, as well, although Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson weren't listed AT ALL!
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@Lashid4u
who cares. Beatles did change music. stop using the race card
Dramactica 1 year ago
@Dramactica How the fuck the race card get in the deck in the first muh-fuggin' place? I don't think we put it there, if we don't hold the deck ...so, if you don't want the shit played, then don't deal it ..otherwise, I'm gonna play that shit, and I'm gonna play it well (that's why that's all the fuck you can respond with)
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@Lashid4u Yes, I know that blacks created rock and roll and that Bill Haley and Elvis stole credit, but what does that have to do with anything?! You're also accusing me of being a sheep when I'm willing to bet that you didn't have these feelings until after MJ died and the media was telling you how amazing he was. And how is he more talented? MJ died off. Paul's albums are still going platinum.
daedsiluap1 1 year ago
@daedsiluap1 Yeah, of course, we ALL KNOW that Michael isn't selling anymore, although none of Paul's albums STILL have surpassed Thriller in sales..lol ..And the only reason that they have sold more, is because whites will do shit like buy 10 and 20 albums of the same shit to keep them on top, making that superiority statement, NOT because more people love their music, DEFINITELY not universally - maybe in the Western world, where whites are the majority ..What the fuck would you expect?
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@daedsiluap1 Paul's albums were "nothing great"
jame1993abc 3 months ago
@Lashid4u the only reason that black people weren't listed is because they are known for rapping and that R&B crap
MyGodzilla99 1 year ago
@MyGodzilla99 Before you diss black music, you should know that just about ALL American music derives from Afro-American music (including country & house ) you would have no rock-n-roll if not for the rhythm & blues (R&B) artists such as Ruby Brown, Big Mama Thornton (who made the ORIGINAL Hound Dog - NOT Elvis), Bo Diddly, Ike Turner ....And rap derives from Jamaican toasting, pro-black poets of the 60s, and is traced back to West African Griots. So, fuck you, and anyone who thinks like you
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@daedsiluap1 what albums? MJ is the 2nd best selling artist in brazil so i really don't know what your going on about...

@jalice408 The name of that song is called "Revolution." It was released as a single on the B-Side to "Hey Jude" in 1968. It can be found on Past Masters, Vol. 2 or The Beatles '67-'70.
