just watched super 8 and i do have mixed feelings about this movie. I thought that the main characters played thier role, its a pity gaylen didnt answer TJ main question. The first scene was a bit weird, sure the mother died and everything but they didnt tell you how it happened, so i thought this would tie in to the movie plot, which it did with the 2 fathers but they never tell you how, so i was very angry about that. train scene-me laughing at how over the top it was. my fav part-credits :)
It was a fair bit disjointed, and the scenes with the monster could certainly be shot from different angles to improve them. Was much better then every summer blockbuster in the last few years.
One more thing, people are beginning to demand too damn much for their freaking measly 10$ these days. I'm not even saying this as if I'm from the last generation, I'm 16! I'm just saying, these films are made with 100 million + $, and you don't want to cough up 10$ just to see it? just watched super 8 and i do have mixed feelings about this movie. I thought that the main characters played thier role, its a pity gaylen didnt answer TJ main question. The first scene was a bit weird, sure the mother died and everything but they didnt tell you how it happened, so i thought this would tie in to the movie plot, which it did with the 2 fathers but they never tell you how, so i was very angry about that. train scene-me laughing at how over the top it was. my fav part-credits :)

I just watched it, I was entertained.
It was a fair bit disjointed, and the scenes with the monster could certainly be shot from different angles to improve them. Was much better then every summer blockbuster in the last few years.

One more thing, people are beginning to demand too damn much for their freaking measly 10$ these days. I'm not even saying this as if I'm from the last generation, I'm 16! I'm just saying, these films are made with 100 million + $, and you don't want to cough up 10$ just to see it? Hell, if E.T. never happened and it JUST came out today, revamped with the newest cgi and camera quality, i guarantee it wouldn't do well, because quite honestly, everyone would be thinking *CLICHE*

You know, the Gaylen guy DID have his mind made up from the start about this movie, because hell, he started his hateful review in the goddamn theater before the movie ended and his full opinion was completed! What if in the middle of the film his opinion changed but his review so far preached hatred? Oh well, lets continue with the hate. Furthermore, I've seen Super 8, and I can honestly say I enjoyed it.

BTW the story of Super 8 is that it was an idea from Spielberg back right around before they made E.T. and Close Encounters... Super 8 was the original idea, but it got split into these 2 separate ideas. That's why these 3 movies have so much in common. It wasn't the best movie EVER... but it was very good... obviously it stumbles in some places, and reminds us of those other films, but we must remember THIS was the original idea. And from the other comments you guys are playing this for views
