Patti is more "old school," but Christina has said that she learned to sing by listening to Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, and Whitney Houston. It's why she has more of a "soulful" sound. In terms of technique, they both have their pluses and minuses. Patti is nasally. Christina sings from the back of her throat. They can each sing diff. styles of music/change up their sound.

I don't get it why always comparing christina with patti la belle, they're very different, Patti can belt really high notes, but christina has a really strong voice and a different tone, so why compare different things.
