Let's assume Atlantis existed. Perhaps it was not a mono-cultural society. You can wikipedia the mayan calendar to see just how much of a hoax 12 21 2012 is. The issue I have with the whole "2012" thing is that the calendar doesn't predict anything! It merely ends! The Aztecs prophecied that Quetzelcoatl would return on the exact date that Cortes' ship landed in present day Mexico. The Mayan calendar doesn't say "in 2012 there will be floods, fires, explosions, etc." The calendar simply ends there.

Well first of all the Mayans never predicted the end of the world. We don't know why their long-count calendar really ends on that date. This "end of the world" stuff was dreamed up by modern man to sell books/DVD's, so blame us, not the Mayans when it doesn't come true. The basque people lived off the coast of the supposed location of Atlantis, which if it were big enough may have allowed ocean crossing. as the sea levels have rose over the last 24,000 years obviously there would have been some other civilations near the sea at some place in the world what went under the sea, the atlantians probably did exist but only probably had simple tools & simple picture writings - they didn't have electricity & planes like some people make out.

This is obviously a christian right wing media network funded documentary. I have seen many many other descriptions of the same subject featuring commonalities between the two cultures such as metal-smithing of staples holding the blocks together in places that could only be done with mobile foundries. Tijajuanaco (sp?) is 17,000 years old and it has architecture way more advanced than egypt. Watch a michael cremo documentary and open your eyes.

Thus the Atlanteans didn't give Egyptians one kind of hieroglyph and another to the Maya. Why? Because survival required more from them in the temperate zones which required them to adapt, but, and perhaps more importantly, those who lived in the temperate zone were able to subjugate their environment more readily--i.e. man was more dominant in a temperate zone than in a tropical zone.

Perhaps there were several cultures which arose on their own, converged into a multicultural state but still retained mono-ethnic and mono-cultural communities, some of which came to be the Egyptians, Mayans, Inca, Indians, Greeks etc.

I meant they ran out of room to chisel on the stone. The Aztecs used glyphs - hieroglyphs and petroglyphs to record their calendar. If the surface you are writing on is 10 feet by 10 feet, eventually you're going to run out of room to chisel and your calendar will have to end.

You can wikipedia the mayan calendar to see just how much of a hoax 12 21 2012 is. The issue I have with the whole "2012" thing is that the calendar doesn't predict anything! It merely ends! The Aztecs prophecied that Quetzelcoatl would return on the exact date that Cortes' ship landed in present day Mexico. The Mayan calendar doesn't say "in 2012 there will be floods, fires, explosions, etc." The calendar simply ends there.

Well first of all the Mayans never predicted the end of the world. We don't know why their long-count calendar really ends on that date. This "end of the world" stuff was dreamed up by modern man to sell books/DVD's, so blame us, not the Mayans when it doesn't come true. They did predict the return of their (pale skinned) god, Quezocoatl, and it was on that exact day that Cortes arrived and wiped them out. Cortes decided whether they lived or died. To them, he basically had god-like power.

what if aliens tried to reproduce with humans geneticaly different all over the world and only showed them the abomination that were the hybrids, and the poor humans only tried to draw those creatures and get rid of their bodies by trapping them under piramids. now that's a good comic book and I came up with it in seconds.

Despite being a huge skeptic on any of this, i don't think that the find of those tags, which apparantly are the earliest egyptian writing are actually anywhere near what they say they are.
Sumerians used cuneform, wedge like writing, I highly doubt as one civilisation arose from the next that they suddenly evolved their writing again.
What they found was probably just a form of uneducated egyptian builders short hand.

Exactly. Or that the ancient egyptian record keepers weren't the artists whose job it was to record history. These guys might as well say my 6 year old son's crayon drawing of a dog on my fridge is evidence of how impressionist art came to be. They also miss the revelation that the best egyptian pyramids are the OLDEST ones, not the newest, and that one egyptian pyramid looks "Stepped" like the maya's. They just gloss right over that one.

How do archeologists explain pyramids from Egypt and south America, having sides that face all cardinal directions, this disputes the fact they ONLY built pyramids because of concerns on structural reliability. This similarity maybe the only evidence of a single place both civilizations originated from like atlantis.

If you look at someone who discredits Sitchin you will see the Sumerians didn't have maps of our solar system.
The single cylinder seal he sources, has at the centre the sumerian depiction of a star, which is entirely different to the one they used as our sun. As they didn't even know then that stars are suns.

@britishwerewolf There is a place in northern Guatemala where the native language is basque-like, which is linguistically unusual. The basque people lived off the coast of the supposed location of Atlantis, which if it were big enough may have allowed ocean crossing. I have no idea why the idea of Atlantis is particularly upsetting, unless it is because it would disprove Genesis quite abruptly. Eden was in Mesopatamia, after all, so early civs are from there exclusively.

as the sea levels have rose over the last 24,000 years obviously there would have been some other civilations near the sea at some place in the world what went under the sea, the atlantians probably did exist but only probably had simple tools & simple picture writings - they didn't have electricity & planes like some people make out.

the logical conclusion to conveying ideas is through pictures, not everyone is gonna understand random lines, but pictures are far more recognizable, this is why ancient writing is so similar, it is not fair to say it all came from a single soucre, unless of course your a retarded person trying to entertain yourself.
