  • I was like 6 when this dropped but i still remember

  • All I see when listening to this song is the part of Love and Basketball where they film Q playing ball in high school.

  • I Fight Dragons Got Me Here.

  • real rapping........

  • A man who loves women is a man who I can relate to.

  • Great intelligent jam.

  • @jigafox You sir...unfortunately have irreversible brain damage....

  • just played 'my beat 4 ever' by stet,ll's 'that's a lie/my rhyme ain't done',so i said if i going to take it back lets do it right.from moe dee onward to 'do what u like' by digital underground lol old school in the house FREESSHHHH

  • THIS GUY WAS TRULY THE TREND SETTER, GO BABY

  • I was a hardcore metal head until the day I saw Kool Moe Dee on Rap City. I cut my hair, ditched the concert t-shirt and haven't looked back since. He's a legend.

  • lupe is more lyrical

  • @ImDuhhBest lupe would be who he is if it werent for kool moe dee.

Kool moe dee, along with others, ushered in Lyricism as opposed to simple doctor suess rhymes.

AND he was the first battle rapper!

  • I love the song, but the music video was absolutely amazing dope.

  • Notice the horns also used in information society 'HACK 1"

  • Kool Moe Dee owned LL in da day!! Listen to the flow!! Jus' sayin'.

  • this was his lyrical peak and im glad i was around to hear it flawless!!!!

  • OMG this is way to fresh i love it haha.

  • moe dee is MASTER. DID LUDA GET HIS NAME FROM HIM?

  • James Brown, Super Bad...can't go wrong with a sample that strong!

  • when is this song from?

  • @CheytacTrinity

i believe in 89' Also part of a soundtrack to a movie that came out in 90 with Forrest Whitaker

  • Love&Basketball

  • da awkard situation wen an unemployed person hears this song

  • KOOL MOE DEE! WHERE ARE YOU!!?!? DANG YOU COULD SHOW THESE KIDS SOMETHING! DANG!

  • THIS BEAT IS STILL SICK AS HELL......THE HORNS...LETS NOT EVEN GET INTO THE LYRICS WOW!

  • Kool Moe Dee . . . you must come back and bring the others who have paved the way and basically created a GENRE of music for us to enjoy. Come home Mohandas . . . come home. We need you NOW more than ever. Bring back the days when rap was new . . . and good . . . understandable . . . and uncorrupted by the last 15 years of rap. There are many who would support you, myself included. Ya gotta come back.

  • I GOT CHILLSSS

  • SUPERHARD lol WORD!!!!!!!! Classic cut

  • /watch?v=bcR7MVl6_ho

WATCH THESE TWO 16 YEAR OLDS GO HARD ON KOOL MOE DEE!!

  • I'll have a martini - shaken' not stirred.

  • Now THIS is REAL rap/hip hop. Can't nobody today mess with Kool mo dee

  • @ajo1124 nas? Rakim??

  • @prophecy505

Not even Rakim or Nas. All those two did was imitate Mohandes style. However well they imitated that style . . . they still imitated it plain and simple. Let's not forget Rakim and don't get me wrong lord knows i love eric b and rakim they showed up on the scene in 86-87 while mohandes has been in the game going back to the days of Rappers Delight and even just a couple of years BEFORE that song came out.

  • @awakeatnight1 wen kmd made a list of his greatest rappers hw placed rakim ahead of him

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang

yeah i remember vaguely about a very specific list of criteria on the back of an LP long time ago. I think it was the How Ya Like Me Now album. i remember his name and lot of other rappers rated on a 1 to 10 system. I only remember this really because he rated LL a 6 and i remember Beastie Boys in a song sayin' he had rated them a 10 for some reason. Do you know off hand what all the criteria rating system was?

  • @awakeatnight1 its in his book ther is a god on the mic. i cant ememba da criteria

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang

Well, criteria notwithstanding Mohandes is still Rakim's elder in the rap game, as well is Blow, Melle Mel etc. etc. I remember readin' Mohandes sayin' that he had great respect for "Melle Mel. So much so he wouldn't go against him in a rap. Now that's sayin' somethin' since they both came up in the rap game together. The fact that Mohandes rated someone higher than him just shows me he doesn't have an inflated ego like most other rappers. Anyone else say things like that?

  • @awakeatnight1 But deep down moe dee knows he is the best rapper of all time . His lyric's are the proof, not to mention his superior vocabulary.

  • @koolmoe1971

can't argue with you there my man. lyrics and vocabulary "hard rhyme" expert is absolutely proof he is the best. while others did indeed come SO close . . . for me Mohandes was just a little bit better. Even if Blow was the the first rapper to get a record deal or Run DMC was the first to bring rap/hip-hop mainstream or Ice-t/N.W.A., scholly d bein' the first to bring gangsta in the genre. Mohandes was still . . . just a little better than the best. To me anyway.

  • @awakeatnight1 i thought dat nas imitated tragedy khadafis style more

  • i go to work, like a doctor!!!. lol. Im ole school with it!! Cool MOe Dee!

  • but why can't I add tha dam song to my playlist. I love kool moe but that's some bull shit. I can't even groove to my cut because of this bull shit, you can add tha song but it won't play in the f'ing playlist

  • I really Miss this kind of Rap! '' old skool''! Jay Z, and the rest of the '' Rappers'' , aint got shit on Kool ! He is under rated!!!

  • thumbs up if love and basketball brought you here!!!

  • The Best!! This still bangs HARD!!!

  • one of the best ever...no doubt about it

  • 1:52=RZA, GZA, Inspectah Deck,and Raekwon

  • @hogarchy lololololololol why specificly those 4

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang they seem like the most ninja like to me.

  • @hogarchy realy raekwons a bit fat dont u think

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang ur a little chubby yourself

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang that's why he'd use toad style.

  • @hogarchy lol. u mustve seen da video 4 house of flyin daggers. gud song

  • I knew this word for word, back then the lyrics for all the songs came with the *gasp* cassette.

  • i truly miss hip hop what the hell happen

  • Big Up Kool Moe Dee. Harlem's Finest MC.

  • @mackdanny170 wat bout big l

  • Such a classic, when Rappers actually knew how to rhyme, and make songs that do not use sex, curses, or violence to back it up... 90% of todays artists could not hold his mic cord...

  • I love the beat, music today is all synths and wack bass. This is real kicking bass and originality!

  • 22 People don't go to work.

  • Back when men was men... and women was afraid.

  • @ninefourtyfive (Afraid of what she wonders.......)

  • @ninefourtyfive

    LMAO

  • this dude was straight dope

  • Awesome rhymes, the video is a lil cheezy, ninjas, evil scientist, robot, terrible action sequence? xD But still good nonetheless.

  • @Krisando its suppose to be taking the piss from shit like james bond ect... if the video was all serious it would be boring, this is the best rap video ever

  • wow u can understand every word!

  • 21 ppl didn't go to work

  • @ThaGovnav2izbac they did not go to work or they dont have jobs

  • Moe Dee is probaly the most under rated lyracist of all time! Jay Z can't touch him with a 10 ft pole

  • @jwh1999 LL KILLED HIM THO WHEN THEY BATTLED

  • @prophecy505 And thats all LL was good for, battle rappin! Moe Dee was way more of a lyrical MC that batlle stuff over shadowed LL's career that's why he not even among the top 10 of all time

  • @prophecy505 lmao!

  • @drkthms7 lol wat???

  • @jwh1999 he could, if he would be in a 10ft range...

  • This reAl music

  • I forgot how skilled these rap artist were back in the days.

  • ah, beutiful.

  • What a lyricist. KMD FTW

  • There is no substitute for RAW talent. Moe Dee was a very intelligent emcee this classic everytime you hear this it is like when the song first came out. CLASSIC!

  • they-spoke with the best MCs ever for a new classic hiphop book thats out, callled-

    [(.,;HOW,.;;-TO,;--RAP;.})

    inccredible read.,got-it in-stores.,&;Amazon too

  • (sigh) Guess I better get back TO WORK!

  • Moe Dee Brought It!

  • I miss this old shit! Nothing match it. (I'm almost 50 yrs old).

Been listnin' to rap since mid '80's

Raised sister, nieces on this stuff. Can't go wrong with the old school!

  • @Pazuzuking -feel ya brah i'm 44 and it pisses me off that moe dee only has 314,000 views on a classic cut, while clown ass nigga's like gucci mane, lil b.,souljah boy, waka flocka,t-pain, & others have millions of views on straight bullshit. it's the same way with today's r&b versus the 70's,80's 90's r&b. today's music is a bunch of no singing,auto-tuned out, shitty ass beats,pre-school lyrics with no substance. fake ass thugs who are missing that genetic gene for love, passion, heart, & respect.

  • @str8outtatexas1 Thank you for telling it like it is! I couldn't agree more! This shit today is GARBAGE!

  • @str8outtatexas1 PREACH IT!!!

  • @str8outtatexas1 btw I'm 23, not all young'uns are clueless. i love old school hip hop, old school r&b, soul, blues and jazz.

  • ll my dogg first rapper i ever really liked but on the real dis da only emcee that gave him a run 4 his money and 2 keep it real cause the black tony montana is real hi-hop kool moe won

  • why can't we have this stuff back on the radio. Ke$ha and Lady Gaga don't compare to this. seriously thumbs up if you agree.

  • Damm I miss this style of rap... intelligent flowing rapping with..SUBSTANCE!!

  • he does occupation

  • Lyrically ridiculous!!!!!! I mean great!!!!!!

  • O_o

  • To this day the man can flow just as good now as he did back then. Kool Moe Dee will always be a force to be reckoned with so i would recommend to all new school rappers keep their distance to avoid embarassment!

  • Classic yo. Peace.

  • Rock this song every few weeks. KMD is one of the most lyrically gifted rappers of all time. And he managed to get a college degree in Communication back in the day. I hope he comes through with his new album..

  • i play this song when i walk into high school everyday and i feel like a badass when i walk through the doors

  • I have listened to very little rap (ok, pretty much none), but when I heard this today, it became the standard by which I now hold all other rap songs.

  • I first heard this from the Bernie Mac Show, haha! I had to look it up

  • @acoolchick i first heard it on love & basket ball then bernie mac show

    :p

  • Old rap is really knocking on something. I might stop listening to current rap and go backwards to this

  • this is so good

  • What does a robot have to do with James Bond? lol Still, amazing song..Moe was one the first rappers with pure fire.

  • OOooohhh I loved this song back in the day! Saw him in concert years ago. I STILL stood by him in the beef with LL Cool J. I still like to think Kool Moe Dee won. What's the lowest part of LL's legacy? Deepest, Bluest, my hat is like a shark's fin!

  • True pimp. Makes out with a girl in the vid. Not having em 1/2 naked grinding on a car like nowadays.

  • Did anyone else wonder what that was at 0:51 ?

  • Yo Kool Moe Dee is all you need to know. This cat was rappin since hip hop started. Late 70's early eighties. C'mon son, nobody today is effin wit Moe Dee! You know how hard it is to be an innovator in a brand new art form? Obviously todays cats who think that their rhyming can't even grab the mic after a lyrical assault as such! Wack rappers go get a job!

  • this kid used metaphors as good as BDK. classic - legend. Vid is kinda crap

  • reminds me of "Love & Basketball" when Q was playing high school basketball!

  • This is the song that Grambling's Marching band always plays.

  • Kool, wake up and check the clock!! #swaggaWednesday

  • 16 suckers

  • Man, I remember the Jackson State University band used to tear this up! All we needed to hear were the horns and the stands went wild! Good one KoolMoe!!!!

  • No one could touch this man!! TheGOAT?? Possibly one of the best that EVER did it! I am old skool!

  • omg i been sleepin on kool moe for minute!! it that old school classic!!

  • this is the only rap i can handle, its cool, smart and he's a classy guy-unlike some of this talentless goofs out there that all sound alike

  • This guy was really good. Haven't listened in a while but this is what it was all about. Cool, sharp, talented really creative.

  • This song should be an MMA theme song or something.

  • @kane2113 your fucked lOL

  • A classis Mo Dee, Deep Profound, Fast, Jet, Super Sonic

Sounds blasting through the senses, one of the best raps ever

Created genius. For Ever and For Ever Amen.

  • THIS is rapping, not droning on about shit as some people think it is.

  • There isn't a single popular hiphop artist alive today that can even come close to writing lyrics like this. Nowadays it's all write a quick paragraph with words any 3rd grader would know, add lots of studio magic, release, make money. Bring back old school skills!!!

  • @MrCreamyT2 Hell yea! I agree 100%!

  • This was the cut. James Brown is god. Love those ski glasses.

  • This was the cut. James Brown is god.

  • @Blkserpent1 James Brown The Greatest of all time.

  • this song is better than when he dissed ll back in the day

  • I love this song!

  • what a fkn bunch of 12 year old girls that dislike this video...

  • Don't ask me to thumbs up your comment, I will just thumbs it down.

  • esse cara é o maximo um dos melhores rep do mundo ...vc é de mais mano..

  • Same thing Manny I haven't heard this song for 20 years but all the lyrics came back a proper rapper

  • that was COOOOL!

  • Kool Moe Dee shades classic

  • Real Hip-hop

  • The first verse just popped into my head out of nowhere. This was my favorite joint back then, song and video. Who's getting radio play and rapping like this these days? No one!

  • Kool Mo Dee goes to work!

  • I'm 47 and white

I actually liked rap back then.

  • This guy has a ton of authority behind his voice.

His voice alone could probably kick your ass.

  • It starts to suck after 4:38

  • @MastaBlakk667 Well played.

  • @MastaBlakk667 actually thats where the video ends and you replay the song over again so it doesnt really suck that much

  • You can have pretty much the entire hip-hop "Top 10", and give us another Kool Moe Dee album.....

  • This was my theme song to let everybody know when I am getting the day started to go to school!

  • Totally tubular to the max!

    xoxo

    The Clarences

  • gotta love it!

  • yeeeaaaa

  • 1 of the greatest conceptual ideas 4 a hip hop video ever ... a black OO7? ill ...

  • This is one of the best things ever created. I there are close to 700 words in this track.....

So rappers can't capture Moe Dee's rapture

    After I got ya

    I have to slap ya

    Senseless with

    Endless rhymes don't pretned this

    Is anything short of stupendous

  • KOOL MOE DEE WAS THE MAN........WHOO.....HE WAS HOT.......WITH THE BLACK JAMES BOND MUSIC......LOL
