Great song, they've been amazingly prolific since 2007, then again they always have been, very few dips, I think most of their albums are highly underated on the whole, Send Away the Tigers is overshadowed for Manics fans a little by Journal For Plague Lovers, which is understandable but a shame as there are some great anthems on it, great live tracks too

"Send away the tigers" Is a phrase Tony Hancock used to use.........the tigers were his cravings for booze.

Believe it or not patrick jones acually came to my school a few years ago! He was helping year 11s with poetry i think... unfortunatly i was in a different year and didnt see the class... so didnt meet him.. i was so disspointed :(.. but a great guy..

In this video it suprises me that he uses a women/striper in comparison to the song.. id thought hed use an acholism like the song title suggests .. Anyway great video

The style of dancing in the video is burlesque. Burlesque is about the freedom of expression of the female form and is about the tease rather than taking the clothes off.

The video is about a struggle of someone who is unhappy with their life,

and the way they escape the feeling is with dance, when dancing the person feel free and happy, but ultimatly has to return to the unhappy life.

So in a sense the symbolisim can be seen as the same as being an alcoholic
