Spazbo4 is quite a good player what with Contra Hard Corps and all these games ! I did complete this game on the SNES emulator but sadly I save stated, knowing this was a LJN game which means it it usually not meaned to be played. Yet I might get back at it and play it legit, this is one off the few LJN games that is actually good, even really fun if I may say it. Be playing the GENESIS one, usually I always choose it over the SNES.
@BluBoulzor well usually when i did games for longplays i used savestates, although i played this game so much on my genesis i had the game memorized if i only played as venom whenever possible, i also did the snes version for this channel (but the audio is messed up due to the emulator) and i did all levels spiderman and i beat carnage without savestates or i dont thing i got hurt either, it was awesome
Everytime I hear that Carnage song on the Sega.... I laughed so hard (ps the reason it sounds so crappy compared to the SNES has to do with SNES using a sony sound chip and Sega a Yamaha- musicians will tell you BIG DIFFERENCE)

man i remember this game . the way it was shown, this game had a very dark and somewhat evil tone to it but in a awesome way. one of the best games for the sega genesis and i still have the cartridge to this very day and i aint gettin rid of it.

Maximum Carnage was a sweet game, but it was hard as hell to beat. I should know, I've never beaten it though I got as far as Prospect Park. Also, seeing this on the Genesis (Mega Drive) is an interesting comparison as I've only played this on the SNES. I prefer its music over this version, though. Since this was mostly played as Venom, I hope that another Longplay of this game will be done with mostly as Spider-Man and on the SNES for the sake of comparison.
well, i dont have it for the snes, but i can do a spiderman run, althrough i've actually never done it with spiderman only, but i do know 1 secret room with him
@Spazbo3 Well, I kind of meant for the whole SNES thing for any longplayer willing to do so, in general. It's not that major an issue if it's done or not. However, it would still be worth watching if you do try a Spider-Man run.

I hate this game. I liked it as a kid, but when I popped it in again I noticed how uninspired the graphics and gameplay are. Also wonky 2 player support is just stupid.
Good game, even for the "high standards" of LJN. I even owned the Prima strategy guide for this game, which included a summary of the original comic book storyline. Also, I liked how at the end Carnage gets pwned by Spiderman right after killing Venom.
I love this game, I had it for Super NES back in the 90's, both the Super NES and SEGA Genesis versions are pretty much the same the main difference really is the music (Genesis having FM synth, but damn good FM synth!) where as the Super NES version had instrumental samples. For some reason I prefer chiptunes, and FM synth more than I do the sound samples produced by the Super NES, as they are really muffled [in general on most games] on SNES.
separation anxiety was hard for me to beat, i could only beat that with a friend and we had to cheat and skip to the last level just to beat it because we couldnt get past the second level
@Spazbo3 Separation Anxiety is easy to beat if you know how to exploit the AI. For some reason, if you move up and down repeatedly, move enemies will walk up to you and allow you to hit them. Plus another boss (the one that looks like Venom) is a joke of you do nothing but thow him. And Carnage is easier in SA than in MC.
@spoonshiro Hey c'mon what about Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade's Revenge granted it was a hard game but it was a good decent challenge of a game ya know! ;D
Awesome game but not hard at all. Beat it 15 or 20 times as a child.
