What do you mean the Hercules isn't a real plane??? It has engines, it can fly on its own power, it has wings, ailerons, a rudder. What else do you need? The wright flyer never left ground effect that I know of. Actually the first thing the Wright Bothers did after flying their plane was to try and get gov't contracts to build them for the military.

I did most of my overseas trips on the 747 and have a liking in them. Recently I read that the popularity of this plane is dropping somewhat because it is not as economical on fuel as other more modern planes. Why then can they not fit engines similar to what the A380 has onto the 747? The A380 looks a bit like an overkill to me.
