its not just the camera tht they hav excluded... the ipod touch is an iphone WITHOUT (1.) a camera (2. ) a gps receiver (although you can view google maps via wifi) (3.) access to net when not in a WIFI zone. (4.) of course, calls/text/mms features.

The CPU is faster. That's literally all that's been changed, other than a camera hole in the motherboard. But unless you open up the iPod Touch, you wouldn't know it was there.

Yeah I think there is actually a Jailbreak allready out. Im not sure though. And as for the new ipod touch, I dont think anybody knows the answer to that Question. All I know is that there are cases coming out for it w/ the camera hole, so it should be coming out, no time yet. Its not really a huge difference, just a camera. still ana wesome feature to have. I would say wait a bit and see what some rumor websiites say.

What you said about it having no camera I completely agree on. Makes perfect sense, although if there is a new model next year, I still bet it'll have a camera in it-even if it only records video like the nano's camera does.

Not sure about your question, you can probably google it, but I did find it weird that you cant take photos on the nano. But I believe the reason that they didnt release it w/ a camera is that there was a manufacturing problem. I believe it is being released soon though im not sure

I was upset when the camera didn't make it to the Touch 3G, but I got over it pretty quick. The way I think of this is there's the iPhone, then there's everyone else.. The Touch is for everyone else. Everyone else likely already has a camera on their phone with MMS. So you can still upload your pics from any phone and download them from the Touch when you have WIFI access. So the lack of camera is kind of a minor quibble when you think about it like that.

Jailbreaking is when you basically unlock the device. Meaning you are now able to put 2rd party applications on. And even change the look over the menu, icons, keyboard etc. It's actually fairly easy to do, allthough I dont know if a good jailbreak for the 3G is out yet.
