This had nothing to do with Obama and initially only partly to do with Cramer. The Daily Show made some criticism of CNBC and that they had been saying to buy in companies that failed horribly shortly after and had CEO's on their network saying everything is fine in their failing companies while the people on CNBC asking them complete softball questions. Cramer happened to be the only one that took exception to the criticism and claimed that wasn't the case and was why this interview took place.

In the first 10 seconds, Bill suggests that Jon assumes Cramer is incompetent. This is a wrongful suggestion. During the interview John expresses that Cramer knows full well what is going on but he doesn't talk about it on his financial show.

Two seconds later, He suggests a motive for John to be angry with Cramer, for attacking Obama. This is wrong. What it does is portray Jon as a "leftwinger", or a "liberal", and every time Jon comes on the show his audience becomes "stoned slackers".

The reason Jon Stewart went after CNBC was because Rick Santelli called homeowners "losers." Stewart was saying that you can't criticize homeowners when you work for a network that lies/is constantly incorrect. He didn't go after Cramer until Cramer made it about him. And Stewart didn't just suddenly start attacking Cramer - he ran that segment on CNBC after Santelli canceled.
