This is a brilliant commercial! It plays on nostalgia as well as the legend behind gremlins, which is that they cause havoc to all kinds of technology, including 21st century technology (we must all remember that the first report of gremlin sightings was back in WWI by pilots whose working planes suddenly would go crazy and break down and/or crash).

CGI is actually cheaper, no puppeteer team. I'd love to see em do it old school but they'd have to be sure there is an audience for it. As for whats left? Small town, big city.... open your mind a bit. Airport, Car assembly plant, subway system, high school reunion dance, a wedding, hospital, On set at the filming of Terminator 4. they could mock 300 or launch nuclear missiles against another country from the white house. Lotsa possibilities me thinks.

gremlins 3 would really kick ass!, as long as disney doesn't get their hands on it lol. no offense to disney but this franchise is not the type they could send to kids without messing it up. I mean the molds are still around and usable, far as I know none of the original cast is retired, I see no reason why a sequel cannot be made even if it is the same team making fun of their previous work, heck it worked for the sequel.

@bloomwill123 No, it didn't, and it likely won't. To be honest I don't really want one though... I feel like a lot of the original humor and classic feel to it would change. Even in this brief video you see several things being repeated from previous films; more than enough needed to be nostalgic. They aren't making a 3rd one.

When're we just going to judge movies as they are, rather than how they're made? Just because it's not traditional doesn't mean it's awful. It's like saying that clored pencils are awful, but if something's done with regular pencils, it's amazing. It's just an art medium. That doesn't automatically make something amazing or awful. Sure, you can have a preference, but that shouldn't judge a movie entirely.

I completely agree with you. They had more character in the second film than they did in the first one and their movement wasn't as jerky, either. Of course! If it is made( the biggest rumor going around is that they MIGHT make it into one of those straight to dvd movies), it would probably be all CGI Gremlins. You know, where you can TELL it's CGI? That's how they MIGHT do it.
