What is important, in my opinion, is how the way "we" govern is changing. Why is Congress, the legislation, deferring to the Senate on the bills it intends to pass? Why are the Senate and Congress now doing the same work?
This is not how the Constitution describes our governing system, and Congress is shirking its responsibility, because the individual Congressman put their paychecks before the job they were elected to do.
(7:00) Congressman Wm. Lacy Clay states that since Brown was elected to the Senate, the Democrats in the House no longer want to "walk the plank" and vote on legislation, until they are sure hat the Senate vote will be.
(8:10) We called Clay repeatedly about 1207. He would NOT cosponsor.
(11:00)Congressman Wm. Lacy Clay states that what he hears, is that if the margins narrow, if Democrats lose the House, that the President will govern by Executive Order... by Executive Branch FIAT Government.
Clay is an idiot, but it took 80% of the idiots in his district to keep him in office.
