I love this video and the music (great job). It is an inspiration for me to finally get my private pilot. Also, I have never been in a Mooney (just Cessnas) but am impressed by all of the positive press about it. Nice plane! and nice job of landing.
Really nice! Question: What do you run on the Dell hand-held? I notice, too, the little (wireless?) GPS receiver. I use a similar set-up (iPaq with a wireless GPS) in my glider. Shopping for a Mooney for business travel. Again, great video.
I have a moving map program called Anywheremap. It uses a Bluetooth GPS antenna, which you can see on the glareshield. You could not find a better business airplane for the money IMHO. Speed, economy, it has it all. They are a little small in the cabin, but that is a minor sacrifice. I have owned 2 and loved them both.
Yes, Mooney's are very much fun to fly. I have been flying since I was 16,(MANY years ago hahah). I have owned 2 of them. As you can see in the video, it is well equipped. My son also flies. He is a 2008 graduate from the Air Force Academy and is currently in Columbus, MS in the latter stages of flight training. He also got his lecense when he was 16. Goood luck.....and continue flying, but always remember...Safety first!!
Actually, 22W is 2900" long and 40" wide with a 50'obstacle..(trees)..on each end, so it makes this approach a little demanding in a Mooney. But once you get accustomed to it, it's not generally a problem.
Nice video. Its difficult to get camcorders to provide proper f-stop to catch both the panel and the runway and keep them both focused, so you managed that pretty well.
BigD...actually this video was taken by my son with a regular Sony digital camera with video capabilities. I had no idea he was taking it, as is obvious with my stupid wave to the camera.

@ropera1a
Considering the crosswind and 40' wide runway......not a bad job, I think....

@ropera1a ; I would say he did the safe thing,"landing on the up-wind side of the center line!"

Flying mooneys are fun, right. I got to fly one for two minutes because I was co-pilot. I was in Young Eagles Program

Great video but I would have prefered the sound of the engine over the music. Happy Flying!
