I like cubed Emmental or Gruyere cheese with seedles grapes or tangerines! (tangerines even from can, if you have to..) I had some different cheeses with sliced olives from a jar or cubed kosher dills.. you can make party snacks with little wooden picks..
and i recommend goat cheese, no need to be afraid of it.
Make an omelette and fold in two slices of goat milk cheese (rolled and herbed on the outside)
@JoeHell67 I'll have to try pairing grapes with some Gruyere - that does sound good. I fell in love with goat cheese a few years ago. It's amazing the flavors and creaminess. Have you had sheep cheese? A very distinct flavor - very earthy - that i like. Gosh, now I'm getting hungry. ;-)
Would it be a good idea to buy a cheese platter or are there cheese tasting places? I'm only familiar with mozzarella cheddar swiss american and provalone so I would like to expand my pallet
@jaymeez You could start with a cheese platter, but it may just have some of the cheeses you are already familiar with. Check to see if there is a cheese shop in your area. You might be able to sample, or just buy small amounts in order to try them out. Some grocery stores offer samples, which gives you an idea whether you might like it or not. Another place to try some really wonderful cheese is at your local farmers market - provided there are some local artisan cheesemaker vendors. Enjoy!
Yep, Gorgonzola and pear slices are fantastic!

Looks like someone vomited on a platter, what a mess, how would you serve that?
