so what they are telling me is that the germans with no anti tank gun good enought agaisnt franche and britich tanks could deffeat them both on france in 2 weeks?
"The T-34 was the best all around tank design of the second World War". This was the best all around tank produced in significant numbers. However, the best all-around tank was the German Panther, hands down.
@bjverslues1 The Best tank of World war 2, Was the German Tiger! I agree the T-34 was better than the German panthers and the Allies Sherman,Churchill,Cromwell tanks.
@martynrobin121 Head to head, T34 had slight edge of Panther, German tactics gave them slight edge over the Russians, but in the end Russian numerical superiority beat all -- ditto between Germany and US, although all but the latest model Shermans all sucked rocks head to head against German armor. Tiger was a good tank, but loses points for speed -- should have been a warning sign of what NOT to develop next (King Tiger, etc.).
@tjhoenecke Yes i agree, Also there wasnt many Tigers to make such an impact. In the Western Front the Allies had "Tiger Fevor", American,British tanks- Shermans,Churchill,Cromwell proved no match for the Tigers.

cupcake that it a good one. Read your history on the lend-lease program. Then program your mind to the world of economics. Propoganda is a bunch of shit. It's all polotics, and nothing has really changed.
As for "best tank" I would say the T34 was without a doubt the best early war tank, and still a toss up between the late model Panthers and T34-85s for late war. The Panther was a better machine overall, but it was very difficult to produce. In a war of numbers and attritiion producibility is a very important part. BTW - von Kleist agreed that the T34 was the 'finest tank in the world' (his words). He wasn't the only German officer to feel that way.
@mrceebees14 You're flat out wrong. ~36,000 T34-76 were produced from 1940-1944. (Michulec, "T-34 Mythical Weapon"). ~12,000 T-34-85s were produced beginning in early 1944 through 1945. Steven Zaloga's work shows very similar numbers.
It's funny that people try to say the US kept the USSR in the war, when in fact Lend Lease didn't make a difference, as shipping only began in earnest in mid 1943. The war was 'won' by that point. It was only a matter of time.
@pursuinginsanity Shipping from the states actually begin in early 41...you just don't read much about it(hush hush). The Germans had their reasons for declaring war on the U.S, this was one of them.
I wish to echo the comments by "Clineshaunt" below. Given the recent/current aberrant programming shown by the History Channel frequently finds me changing channels!!
The Suspension once again they took from America, but it was the metal making technology which made that tank deadly.
America sold the Russians machines specifically designed to make the metals they were using stronger. They also sold them the technology of how to make that metal stronger.
Because 1) The T-34 was MUCH more expensive. 2) It was more time consuming to make and 3) It was too complex which ties into #2.
The first Shermans were crap, but they could produces THOUSANDS of them. That is what everyone feared from the U.S. the ability to just out produce everyone which is what we did.
@mrceebees14 I don't know who told you T-34 was "too expensive, complicated and time consuming to build". You're probably just a war dabbler who confused T-34 with German King Tiger tanks.
Most of the EXPERTS in Russia and in the West alike agree that T-34 was the best tank of WW2 due to
@0ktagon The cost to make that armor was very expensive, the machine they used to bend the metal over and over and over again was sold to the Soviets by the United States.
I am a World War 2 buff going on 30 years, I have confused nothing, maybe you have?
@0ktagon I don't know who you have been talking to, but the Tiger I was hands down the best Tank in WW2. No allied tanker wanted to face that beast, not when you have an 88m that was deadly accurate and destructive and a very long ranger compared to other tanks of the era.
@mrceebees14@mrceebees14 Another question: How could Russian war devastated economy produce over 50.000 of "expencive and time consuming to produce" tanks? Meanwhile tank production plants had to be evacuated 1000 miles east from Ukraine into Siberia.
@0ktagon Answer is, they never hit those production numbers during the war. The majority of T-34's were built after the war and lasted until 1958 when they stopped making them all together.
Lastly, the United States gave a HUGE amount of raw materials to the Soviets with an understanding that they would pay it back later.
I always knew the Mark 3 Panzer as a Panzer 2C. Great for infantry attack, faster, very mobile, but not even good against French Tanks, let along what the Soviets had.
i was thinking if only germany could have at least one carrier.. their plane could have hit deeper into the russia territory, thus hitting those impt places like defence industry and oil station? lols i dont know how to spell, sorry.
After a look on the german weaponry it seems that the russian offensive was launched in haste, with time on hitler's side due to the non aggression pact the postponing of the offensive looked a better option to me, england should have been hitlers next target after france, this would sealed the western front, and the US would have been forced to fight with the japanese as well as the germans, with no englishmen on their side, disturbing russia at the wrong time led to germany's defeat
i dont think so. stalin had been taking advantage of the german occupation in the west and strongly threatening the germany's border by occupying finland, romania, etc.. thats the reason why hitler would want to invade russia during this time. furthermore, i think that germany defeat is because hitler invade the west which do not have natural resources to provide him to sustain or expand his military means. if he were to invade russia first instead of the west.
he would have more resources and troops to invade russia in a faster time and during that time is russia's weakest moment. and if he do so, he would not make enemy with the west and after conquering russia he would have more troops and more military machine which he would have win the war against the west by the time.
To those arguing about copyright, if the History Channel would show shows like this and other historical documentaries instead of large rednecks driving across frozen lakes or cutting down trees, trying to scare everyone with Nostradamus and scaring people with the tsunamis, ufos, and other non historical garbage, maybe people would watch the tv's legally instead of this. But until then, great post!
@BizzLeVrai Lol. Seriously, I've seen several comments on other videos of WWII and others talking in general about "How many times can you watch Hitler or Vietnam on the History Channel." Well, WWII and Vietnam are major events in history that no one should forget and we need to remember the valuable lessons learned. Who cares about if someone delivers their load on time or if a chain saw breaks down? I'm not knocking those jobs but I think 1 Nat Geo documentary should do it.

And above all ease of production and maintenance.

@mrceebees14 The german Panzer Panther G was way better than the Tiger Tank.
TTiger75 1 year ago
@TTiger75 I diagree, but why do you say that?
mrceebees14 1 year ago
@mrceebees14 :
1. The Panther was faster and more manouverable.
2. Lighter than the Tiger tank - especially in russia were the bridges and roads were low tech a hughe advantage
3. The Panther was less prone for technical defects than the Tiger
4. Its ~70mm gun was as efficient as the Tigers gun in tank fights
5. Due to its sloped armor it had a good survivability (combined with its better manouverability maybe even as good as the Tigers)
6. The russian tank crews feared the Panther not the Tiger

Youtube will close his account and thats it.
Grow up into reality man.
There is 1 chance in 1 million that a company sues a single guy for copyright and piracy.
They dont go after small fish like him. They go after the servers where those files are downloaded.
