I loved this album when it came out, then i just forgot about it. Too bad it sounds a bit dated and they have taken too long to make new albums, Lex or Nagash however you wanna call him, has the potential to make music that can change the way we look at metal. He should live up to it.

Well now i know im gonna get many thumbs down, but in a way i think this album is their best. I mean still critic to relligion in the song jihad, guitar solos, awesome vocal and hard bass :)

I mean many so called bm bands just make songs about the devil and so on but not so direct critic to relligion like in Jihad (thats my favorite song of their :P)

@Norwegiannationalist Completely depends on the band. Plenty of BM bands that do it on a more metaphorical level. There is also a difference in generally questioning religion and critizing Christianity, that many BM bands do.

I like both black metal and industrial or prog space metal as they call themselves. Strangely The Kovenant never stated they were black metal (i picked it ip from some interview when people questioned their genre) and I actually agree with you, I LOVE Animatronic, and if someone has something against it, they can always go back to their older albums...

Remember that Deathstars were formed round the 2000 year, but COVENANT(their actual name that would stay the same, if those bastards wouldn;t sew them for small reasons) were around a long time ago...

Ive actually heard of this band just after Deathstars, and fell in love with em, before that I fell into DS :D

I think Deathstars sound much more atmospherical whereas Kovenant is probabely more electrical and effects. However both bands are great !

@TheRevolutionExodus I wouldn't classify Deathstars metal. That's the major difference between them and The Kovenant. Deathstars is more akin to Rammstein and mid-Mariliyn Manson: alternative rock with goth and industrial influences.

Meaby not greatest, but on the top 5 list imo. :P Finland's nr. 1. No other country can beat Finnish metal bands, tho Norway is coming as 2nd & Sweden 3rd. Kalmah, Norther, Insomnium, Mors Principium Est, Pain Confessor, Fintroll, Ensiferum, Naildown, Shade Empire, Verjnuarmu and the list keeps going on.. Finnish metal just is the best.

In Flames, Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity, At The Gates, and so on.

Finland for nr 2, with Naildown, Children of bodom etc.

Well i would put that sweden 2nd norway 3rd really. But thats as im not into black metal much. But towards to melodic death metal. Especialy with lower death vocals. Kalmah for the win, The Black Waltz !
