  • Your fun vid made my morning. Thanx for posting.

  • @tackyman2011

Glad you enjoyed it; we had a great time.

  • looks amazing. I'm doing a Europe road trip in summer and would love to go to this exact spot, where exactly is it?

  • @dannywormo Go behind the Swiss federal buildings in Bern and head for Marzilibad Park along the Aare River. I take the footpath along the river to the pedestrian bridge which is what we are jumping off of. Let me know if you have any questions about the directions. Have fun!

  • Born and raided in Berne - I've been in the marzili so many times.

  • @DTHrocKs

Bern is one of the best cities in the world and your city park on the Aare is one of my favorite stops in Europe.

    Marzili <3

  • where exactly is this bridge?

  • @brvandal Sorry, I just got back to this video. The bridge is located just south of the Bundeshaus on the Aare. It is a pedestrian bridge so you will not see it on Google maps unless you use the satellite view. It is labeled the Shonausteg on that view. Hope that helps.

  • I love your river. I bring students from the U.S. to Bern every summer to enjoy a few hours of swimming in the Aare.

  • @tvar4 THANKS MUCH for taking and sharing this vid. The kids look like they are having the time of their lives. I "discovered" the Aare online about a year ago, and I'm fascinated by it. I'm a freshwater nut, and I WILL swim in that river afore I die! The only down side I see is the current -- short ride, then a LONG walk back.

Just curious, what do you teach? what city? what kind of program is it where you bring the young-uns to Bern/Europe? Thanks again. (I'm in Charlotte, NC, btw.)

  • @srbaruchi I teach World History in WI. We stop in Bern on the way to Germany or Italy after leaving Paris. I am a freshwater nut as well. I kayak the Natahala area of NC almost every year and usually spend a week in Ohiopyle, PA where my son is a whitewater guide. The current is great and the walk is very easy on a nice asphalt trail. I look forward to my next swim in the Aare early in July!
