@Gabriel7211989 The requirements for the entry level education required to take the certification exam to become a CRNA is changing. This will include a Practice-oriented doctoral degree (Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice, DNAP, or Doctor of Nursing Practice, DNP) or a Research-oriented doctoral degree (Doctor of Philosophy, PhD, or Doctor of Nursing Science, DNSc). These programs are a minimum of 36 months, beginning no later than Jan. 1, 2022. Most schools will start the new degree sooner.
Plz answer this through message... Is it frowned upon to get a online BA degree. Could it get keep me from getting a job? Or from getting into the next educational stage?
@MrBrezoilor first, make sure the online program meets the state Board of Nursing requirements for licensure in the state that you will work as an RN. Once you have passed the NCLEX-RN and receive your RN license you can be employed as an RN. It will be up to your employer if your education fits into their system. Next, if you plan on going on to an advanced practice nursing degree, ensure that the program is accredited and acceptable for the school that you plan to attend.
Hello, to become an CRNA do you need some course work in Chemistry, and is the math similar to pharmacy formulas. I'm thinking about perusing it but cautious about making the right decision
@lahana2244 you will need to have a chemistry, biochemistry/organic chemistry, and pharmacology in your bachelors's degree or nursing program. The pharmacy classes in the CRNA program will be in much more detail and in depth than the undergraduate. The math involved is usually no more complicated than what you would have learned in your high school algebra classes.
great, thanks for responding! Ive also been looking into a CRNA. so after obtaining a BSN and gaining work experience as an RN, how long is school for becoming a CRNA?
@sierrabaileyyy currently the schools range from 24 to 36 months. For all students beginning in a nurse anesthesia training program after January 1, 2022, the l course will be at least 36 months.
Im a senior in high school. I want to attend a 4 year university and major in biology. how to i go about becoming a nurse, is that possible if i major in biology?
@sierrabaileyyy short answer, yes it is possible. The question you need to answer for yourself is "Where is my passion?" If you want to be an RN then why spend your money and energy pursuing a degree in biology, and similarly, if your passion is in biology, then pursue that with all your energy.
become a CRNA...I just really respect all CRNAs for what they have accomplished. It really takes hard work, a lot of exams, critical thinking, ICU experience, great science gpa and etc...thank u paul for the videos!
Hello Paul....I love your videos about CRNA. It is very informative! I believe that most CRNA programs require science major chemistry as well right? Such as organic chemistry..and in order to take organic chemsitry, you would need to pass general chemistry 1--->then general chem 2---> organic chem 1 and then organic chem 2...also before u can even take general chem 1, you need to pass precal 1 & 2...Just thought i throw that in there just to let others know..I love CRNA. It is my dream to
@leon200k Concentrate on finishing high school with the best GPA you can manage. Pay special attention to the science classes. Look into an RN program, find out about their requirements, make sure you meet them and prepare your application. I would recommend a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing program. That meets two of three basic requirement for CRNA school. After completing that degree, get your experience in an acute setting and start looking at CRNA programs. Shadow a CRNA for a day.
Great Videos very helpful
