I've been through a lot in my life, people wouldn't be able to tell by the way I act but inside I'm broken and torn up. This video made me cry. Full out cry. AJ just made my entire night. Even though this video was posted 10 months ago I will watch this every day just to remember that everything will get better, and to look in the mirror after and tell myself I love me. I can do it without watching but it means a lot more to watch and then tell myself. One day I'll tell AJ everything.

When I was in Highschool I got picked on alot for being different and it got to the point where I got beat up alot and followed home and harrassed I almost committed suicide because of it but I got the help I needed and learned what AJ said dont pay attention to the people that are trying to hurt you and make you feel like shit it s because they are insecure and to just love yourself and who you are It does get better !

I was one of those young kids who was confused and scared and too "different" to be accepted into any social click. I felt there was no place for me in the school hierarchy. Yet I refused to accept that this was it. I never gave up and guess what. It does get better. Like A.J. says, "Believe in yourself, know yourself, love yourself..." That is so true. I promise, it will get better, and that you will finally be able to shine as the person you truly are.
AJ doesn't care if your gay or not. I have know him forever, he is an angel, almost. I wish he could live by me, I would hug him everyday, he has been a hero of mine and a role model for years, and a friend for the past 13 and I love all the cells in him as a friend. I can honestly say that when I was 15 breakups were hard, bullies were mean, and life seemed like a trainwreck. People judge you harshly, expect too much of you and put more pressure on you than you think you can handle. A good friend of mine who was gay hung himself 2 months before our grad. I'm 25 now and all the drama and bullshit of highschool... is gone. I made it, I know my friend could have, and all the kids suffering can too.
I have so much to thank him for: This video, for one. Getting me into writing (after listening to BSB Greatest Hits:Volume One at age 12, I started writing tons of BSB fanfiction - and now I'm working on a few projects with original characters [ 19 now]), and helping me realize that it's okay to still sing "I want it that away" and be proud of EXACTLY who I am! Being a fan of Backstreet Boys has definitely taught me that. I don't have to be ashamed of ANY part of me!

I can honestly say that when I was 15 breakups were hard, bullies were mean, and life seemed like a trainwreck. People judge you harshly, expect too much of you and put more pressure on you than you think you can handle. A good friend of mine who was gay hung himself 2 months before our grad. I'm 25 now and all the drama and bullshit of highschool... is gone. I made it, I know my friend could have, and all the kids suffering can too.
Trust that life is hard, but worth it. <3

I have so much to thank him for: This video, for one. Getting me into writing (after listening to BSB Greatest Hits:Volume One at age 12, I started writing tons of BSB fanfiction - and now I'm working on a few projects with original characters [ 19 now]), and helping me realize that it's okay to still sing "I want it that away" and be proud of EXACTLY who I am! Being a fan of Backstreet Boys has definitely taught me that. I don't have to be ashamed of ANY part of me!

An "it gets better" video from a gay person means alot, because they've been there and done that, but one from a straight person is in a category all it's own.
