The autoharp George is using in this video was made by Pete Daigle of Seatac, WA. This comment section won't let me post a link, but if you Google "Daigle" and "Autoharp", you'll find his webpage.
When I first heard George playing at the Dunfermline folk festival last year, I was amazed by his playing; it was the first time I had heard this instrument, and the music was so beautiful and different from anything I'd heard before. Keep playing scottish tunes the amazing instrument!
That is incredible! I love the bagpipe-like sound George was able to produce with the autoharp, and his playing is nothing but superb. I sat here watching this with my jaw hanging open, I was just so amazed at the beauty of the music.
great playing George...Love the open drone tuning on the bass side of the Autoharp. OK Jo Ann next time you film a guest on your show please show the chording hand. It's blocked. thanks again~dulcimerhawaii
JoAnn thanks so much for this!! I have heard so much about George and this is the first video i have seen anywhere of his playing. all i can say is wow!!
My Email alerted me you had a new video out. I had no idea it was going to be such a treat for all of us! Listening to George play is certainly a pleasure. Please leave this video on here as long as you can, I will be watching it often. I can hear the softness, and soothing smooth way he has full control over this instrument, yet he balances the boldness perfectly with precise timing. The first part of the song is my favorite! Thank you again for sharing. I enjoyed this so much!
I'm using the built-in web cam on my Mac, but use a Blue Snowball USB condenser mic to pick up the sound. I think it does a respectable job for this type of recording.
Hurrah for more autoharp music! And hoo boy, Greg's thick accent really threw me for a loop for a second. But in the end I could understand him. It's great to see masters of music on their type of instrument. Especially for the lesser known instruments out there. Thanks for sharing Greg and Jo Ann for introducing him to us!

This is so wonderful! I have been wanting to play Scottish and Irish ballads on it, but I just can't seem to find any videos on it, until now.
Unfortunately, the link to the alternate tuning is not working. Do you know of another place I could find it?
Thank you Jo Ann! :)

Thanks Jo for introducing us all to Mr Haig. The two of you are surely the best of all of the autoharp players on the Tube. Great!
