  • This is one vid I can keep watchin' over n over........

  • So awesome, Didnt know about. Further whipped it out in Eugene, jus fuking awesome they do it justice. I think a few more times live and they'll find the pocket. Mama said dont go near that river..............

  • Wow what a good version of that song ..Jerry sounded soo good !!!

  • Someone NEEDS to upload the version with Donna on backup! I can't find it anywhere!

  • Yeah!, it this on a Garcia album?, just heard it once on Sirius...

  • the intro is so sik

  • @casualtySR sick* and yes. it is

  • It's Never-Ending!

I go on Utube to play along for a few tunes, find this for the first time,

    and #(&#%#!!!, Damn! Jerry!

( Oh, and by the way, Mr. wingman572, next time,...."should HAVE," not "should of.".

  • if you look up terrapin station and look at the songs this wont be on there, but this is an outtake from that album.

  • GREAT JOB. Regarding Johnnie Russel....speakin' of flashbacks...he did a tune my old man would always play in the car when I was 12 or so...it's called RED NECK, WHITE SOCKS AND BLUE RIBBON BEER. It's dyed-in-the-wool country. Meanwhile, let's get back to some DEAD! The menu bar off to the right of the screen is peppered with a smorgasboard of tunes...the wonders of the web.

  • wow!!!!!!!!! where ya find this version? nice bullfrogs, this will make ya happy

  • um its not a dead song. it was not on terrapin station and its not a jerry garcia song either although it was a constant in his repertoire. its a country song recorded by john russel... I knew the first 3 points but I googled the last... maybe you should of

  • love love love this song! and that yellow forever grateful poster with that girl drawing on it! where did you find that image??

  • catfish john is like matt folley

  • i think this might be my fav dead song, im not sure, so many good ones

  • Loved this version! It sounds so optimistic that it makes me think of happy Japanese pop music (If you know what I mean). I can definitely hear the Terrapin-ish sound.

  • I like the picture of the hobo, roasting sausages and smoking a doobie

  • twirl on my fellow heads......love to all

  • one person was hangin round catfish john, and it was my dad.

  • great job on the video...song obviously speaks for itself

  • HOLY SHIT

  • This was the first album dead album I ever bought when I was 12 years old. I might only be 19 but these tunes have served me through a few years and I'm sure for decades to come :D

  • @slushemaster word , im 19 as well and the Dead have gotten throught some tough shit and just life in general i will allways listen to them till the day I die!!! RIP Jerry

  • outstanding!

  • Fuck yeah

  • Fuck Yeah!

  • Hey woofie when life gives you velveeta cheese the least you could do is make macaroni and cheese..... anyhow folks, The Dead didnt do it live as far as I know either, it just caught my ear one dayand it has become a favorite of my 9 year old daughters so I uploaded it. Im a longtime lover of the Dead, and when my little girl loves a Dead tune, it automatically becomes one that I love too! This one to me is just fun and OH how I wish there was a LIVE one.

  • @sunshinedaydream1973 their is if you enjoy bluegrass, check out Old and in the way, breakdown live recordings it's a bonus track at the end of the album track 19 blue mule it starts at 5:33 It's not the dead but Jerry is pickin the banjo

  • @jjejeep also the jerry garcia band did this live you can find it on youtube

  • always though this was suckie version ...all 70 velveeta cheeeze

  • yes7651,

    You cracked me up!

  • @40waxx just shut up. it is on the 2001 remaster boxset of terrapin, performed by the grateful dead, not jerry. that's this version. and no one cares what vinyls you had back in the day

  • Great tune- first heard it a few days back from Pandora & this was the only version here that had it. Thanks for posting. Great rendition. Too bad the Dead never played at a show (at least I don't believe they did)!!

  • Sorry, Sunshine, but this song was not on 'Terrapin Station' when that album was released in 1977. It was on an Album called 'Reflections' that was released in 1976 as a Jerry Garcia solo album. I had both of them, back then. Vinal, of course.

  • @40Waxx it's on the extended version of terrapin.

  • THANKS for the upload!!!!!!!!

I was bummed this version wasnt on youtube... but now it is!!!!

    Peace & Love

  • This is actually off of Terrapin guys <3 I only JUST recently really discovered it, Or at least had it catch my ear while I was stuck in traffic the one day. It was nowhere on Youtube, so I made my own video, or attempt there of.....lol.

40waxx, you are correct Jerry Garcia Band did this live, I dont think the Dead actually ever did it live, BUT it was on the studio album Terrapin. Too bad tho they never did this one live tho, eh?

  • @sunshinedaydream1973 This wasnt on Terrapin....it was on Garcia's solo album called Reflections, yes?

  • haha, answer to question above is right here, this is a bonus track on 2001 re-mastered Terrrapin

  • this version is an outtake from a dead box set. one of the best versions i've heard

  • This was on a couple Jerry Garcia Band Albums, but never on a Grateful Dead album. This is Jerry's band, not the Dead. Dig it, though, Sunshine. Thanks!

  • @40Waxx

This was actually on the terrapin station 2001 remaster boxset as a bonus song :)

  • Terrapin Station.

  • Good gravy this is awesome..! Question, what album did this go down on?
