  • i had one of these with an xpack body kit........ in 1991. i got stopped by the police as apparently it had been used in a robbery from the previuos owner. eventually the turbo blow. it was a fun car

  • Road-A-Matic would be something wallice would call one of his machines. :L

  • i don't know if any1 can help on the dash what is the orange light below the red handbreake lights

  • baldwins dyno is crap....

    it always over reads.......

  • my mate is after one of those engines to go in his mini. See you at santa pod.

  • dont own this anymore, be at the pod in me bus tho, good luck with the mini conversion, wouldnt mind one myself, but golf gti cost me £500, would dick all over it and i can fit! ha

  • how did you get 131 from a standard turbo 1275 which standard produces 95bhp

  • full race spec exhaust system, carb rebuilt using new o.e parts and a smooth butterly, air box drilled fresh air side of air box, k&n direct fit filter, boost increased to 7-10psi as opposed to 4-7, throttle needle profiled to match fuelling to boost and set on the rolling road. 131bhp in a shopping trolley is a hell of alot of fun!

  • @metroturbomatt that shows you don't have the first clue about cars, airflow, vacuum, velocity, filters and boost/wastegate.

drilling a filter housing lowers power, a K&N is not a filter so it causes pitting in the turbo and altering the wastegate is a crude method, that's why the turbo was hot.

  • @metroturbomatt Not a chance it was running 131bhp with just a 3psi increase in peak boost, Baldwin knows how to tweak a SU needle correctly but the rolling road for figures is useless! If it had a genuine 131bhp the gearbox would of popped.

  • just a thought,...ok maybe a very silly one,but has the 2.0 t16 out of a tomcat ever been shoe horned into a metro be it this type or the later rover one? food for thought perhaps? ;-)

  • thats what im thinking of doing ????,thats what im on here to to find any clips, how cheap would it be,doner car 300,base of the car 300,then conversion cost and a car that would be 0 to 60 in easy 5 and easy 150mph!,not sure about looks and handling but at the cost and speed it must be worth it and a great change to the corsa/nova,...if you know of any,let me know, cost of conversion would be nice to know,...x

  • U must fit an intercooler?

U often lose power when the charge gets to hot.

The gaugewill say high psi but the heat reduces density so u can lose power, not to mention detonation!

My mates had a built in boostscale on dash, it was a row of lights.

Nice car, was it origionally an MG non turbo?

My first car was a metro 998 four door!

    Oh the power!lol.

  • It is a genuine metro turbo, no need for intercooler with the level of boost i am running, you could fit one to increase the bhp further but im happy the power it has so havent. The carb needle was profiled to have optimum air/fuel ratio so no chance of detonation. Car is currently for sale

    cheers

  • U can get detonation with advanced timing, hotspots, high CR etc.

    How much ££££

  • Yes i no mate, all is set up on the car so that wont occur. £2000

  • Good power, what you done to it? I had a 1982 on a Y plate metro turbo, 20 years ago, it didn't have that power! But I never knew what it had as there was no rolling roads back then, xr2's were a little bit quicker, I had 118mph out of it, and it was relining in 4th lol, no 5 speed on that one

  • Impressive stuff, good video!

  • Jesus christ on a bike thats dam good
