  • hé oui, quand on construit un réseau il faut aussi penser à ce que les pont n'eagent pas le gabarit

  • where is this?

  • SHOW ME THE CARFAX

  • 188.138.92.201:7777

    Realife server,der beste

  • Ha, I live there

  • i would think after the first car you would stop....oh, and lets blur out the CN logos and crap, just in case anyone decides to sue them for property damage -_-

  • @FECRWY He prolly did apply the brakes after the first car but it IS a train, takes a long time to stop..

  • who loaded the cars? dumb

  • Its not the Engineer's Fault its the Dispatcher for not telling the Engineer for not taking the South Track! :P They switch over at Jordan! They are single track before then but I guess they didnt change it over to the South and kept him on the North. Well half the Engineers fault for not reminding him he got double stacks! :P

  • Gotta Love ST Catharines and CN! I hate both. ONE OF THE WORST TRACKS IN CN'S SYSTEM through here! Well thank goodness for a new Bridge but seriously that is just down the street from me! I live in Thorold. Dispatcher's fault for this NEVER HAVE THEM ON THE NORTH TRACK ONLY SOUTH TRACK. They used to have Stackers come by here in the 1990's 255, 254 going through here. Stupid Craash National!!!

  • @megs905 The Grimsby Sub was still all double track when this happened. CN Intermodal down the Grimsby was 700-series. The dispatcher should have known, yes, but the operating rules for the subdivision clearly outlined the prohibition of anything above a certain height on the South track. There was 7 inches more clearance on the North track, which was designated for Intermodal freights. The crew were to blame for this mishap, for not following the rules outlined for this area.

  • he def. got FIRED!!!

  • CN must stand for Crazy Nut-jobs! What the hell, were they doing a test on how strong the containers are. This is a big fail!

  • It's okay, Bill Gates now owns 10% of CN, so if the crews ever encounter an issue like this or anyother they can exit the windows and reopen them.

  • oops., sombody turned the wrong switch.

  • Someone must've forgotten about that height restriction.

  • okay he goes foward and gets the destroyed and then he goes backwards? Is that guy on crack?

  • 0:36 I love the pointing guys....

"Oh Yeah! That's the problem! The top of the train is hitting the bridge!"

  • @636roadrunner It depends. It could be the train that is the problem or the bridge that is the problem. WAAAAIIT a minute. They forgot to point to the D R I V E R of the train. hmmm.

  • Looking good my brother!

  • I guess he forgot to check the clearance!

  • THEY NEED TO RETRAIN THIS GUY.

  • put smaller wheels on the train lol

  • Do the Canadians not have the concept of a loading gauge? Who on earth designed rolling stock unsuitable for the national rail network?

  • @hindler railroads operated in North America for 150 years before the concept of double stacked containers came along. Of course that meant that many lines had to have their clearances adjusted to allow this type of traffic, and many lines are still not suitable for it. In this particular location only one of the two main tracks was suitable for double stacked containers, and the train was routed onto the wrong track.

  • "It's not going to fit."

"Yes it will, yes it will. Shut up let me drive the train."

    "Dude, you're NOT--GOING--TO--FIT!"

Hey, who's the engineer, you or me?"

  • @schlepperluv a hi and wide is a detector to pick up how high and wide a train for close clearance issues.

  • ??? Why would they try and fit something taller than the bridge under the bridge, what idiot does that???

  • It's a taxpayer proped up Rail line.

They are spoon fed idiots that run to the public trough when ever they need to repower.

  • @viper1966 CN was privatised 15 years ago (publicly traded on the TSX and NYSE), and subsequently became the most efficient railroad in North America. They have annual profits in excess of $2 billion, and an annual operating ratio of around 61% (meaning they spend 61% of what they earn), which is by far the best in North America. Of course this was not one of their better moments lol...

  • @sludge27

Again it was taxpayer money that got them there.

BTW it was 1995 when they went private but got repowered with MY money after.

    It's a bullshit company..

  • @viper1966 Yes, it was November 1995, and yes they got piles of federal money up to that point but they haven't gotten any subsidy since then. The govt is paying for a third track in a couple places in Ontario, but that is for more VIA trains. CN isn't going to spend their own money to accomodate trains that aren't theirs.

Anyway, believe what you want... Maybe I should start looking for your signature on my paycheque?

  • lol cn hasnt been government owned for 20 years now :P

  • @DigitalLonestarX4600 15 years

  • @DigitalLonestarX4600 not to be a dick..but we're on our 16th year right now

  • I can fix it, my Dad is a TV repair man, he has this ultimate set of tools.

  • @raillink2002 Okay Jeff Spicoli...

  • why would you keep go like really.

  • how did it make it past the hiand wide detector??

  • @weelittlemikey my best guess is a surfacing gang raised the track. the train is a standard double stack.

  • @weelittlemikey what is a hi and wide detector

  • ...and THATS what happens when you allow a double stacker on a line with low clearance...

  • Hurr hurr, let's stand this bridge that the train is causing a lot of structural damage to, herp a derp.

  • Folks, CN rail has a terrible safety record. CTV's W-Five did a report that was critical of this railroad and given their massive profits at the expense of safety.

  • FIRED

  • i lold

  • Holy fucking shit . What a mess. :D

  • Comment removed

  • It'll buff out. No biggie.

  • Its not his fault! If you have a so long heavy train un need 10 min to stop it!

  • here in California CN is the example of (what not to do ) or what not to be like! CN is brought up olmost every week in our safety meetings!

  • @belac6137 We have saftey flash/alerts and CN is the talk most of the time

  • smooth fuckin move slick

  • who was the frenchman who built this underpass!?

  • Dude, there's an easier way to get fired....

  • The trains are not like a car, you move over the track, yo don't drive...

  • Welcome to the Fucking USA

  • @TasuBeatZ CN- Canadian national.

  • I am a CN Train Conductor. This was probably a pissed off Engineer who had enough of CN Harrassment from Train masters. I am feeling sorry for CP Rail

crews... They have inherited the biggest asshole. Hunter Harrsion from CN....

  • I am a CN Train Conductor. This was probably a pissed off Engineer who had enough of CN Harrassment from Train masters. I am feeling sorry for CP Rail crews... They have inherited the biggest asshole. Hunter Harrsion from CN....

  • This happened on the CN in Merritton, Ontario, near St. Catharines.

  • jajajaja and reverse too jajajajaja

  • ... years ago, when RRs still used open 3 deck car-carriers my older bro witnessed a conrail train loaded w/ cadillacs lose all the caddies on the top decks of 7 of the carrier-cars... the caddies on the first 3 decks were de-roofed and the rest on the last 4 were all scraped off and heaped upon and aroundthe last deck-car like a giant cadillac volcano cone...
  • The story is that this guy was about to loose his job and took out his frustrations like this.

  • @MrDrifterNL Really? Wow...

  • Why can't some railroads spell out their dam name? I can't stand people or businesses that use acronyms for names. Lazy asses spell it out!!!! If you don't talk that way, why spell that way?

  • @Nathanrailfan Because CN doesn't operate solely in Canada anymore, and don't want to be identified as a solely Canadian company.

So they decided to rebrand themselves at a corporate level.

Man, you foamers sure love to get your panties in a knot about absolutely nothing.

  • @CPRailRTC I would love to work for the railroad and learn something, but I'm sorry railroad companies won't hardly hire anybody anymore. Every business is like you have to know someone to get hired on anymore these days. They won't hire just any Tom, Dick and Harry. It feels like it takes 5 to 10 years to get hired on like a government job. They must be going by specifics. I don't know it all, but I live and learn. SP and CP are the only roads I ever loved.

  • ...so many typos...must quell the troll within....@.@

  • What a dummkopf!

  • Gibt es wirklich so dumme Leute?

  • i dont see why they covered up CN on the locos?

  • @up199519981982198319 They were hoping no one would notice.

  • Oh, Canaduh!

  • did he seriously not notice that his train was being fucked up

  • lol, that''s what his career looks like now. 1:00

  • You bunch of dumb I dots thats rite I dots why would you make a vid like that? Oh! Let me guess you think its funny? Well its not its stupid and I pittty the fools who thought so. Dumb ASS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dam Canadians, he misread the hieght sign, thought it was in meters, not feet.

  • chu!!!... la media cagadita

  • Privatized CN. Thanks moya greene

  • who pay hehe...

  • in germany bridges eat the cargo

  • Comment removed

  • next time the engineer should flatten the tires . That will fit

  • CN Fails at life

  • Is this a WOPS or a OH SHIT

  • they need a bigger bridge

  • This isn't the engineers fault, some dumbass routed the train onto the wrong line.

  • Geee high and wide loads not permitted I'll keep going till every top trailer is torn open like a tin can why the hell not my company will pay for the bill

  • @tombuseck The engineer was moving the train back to a point where the already destroyed containers could be removed from the train. It's not like you could do any more damage to them.

  • this is awsome hope they got stuck with the bill for wrecking the cargo

  • @crapper1 Oh, without a doubt CN paid the price for this "incident". Fortunately most of the containers were empty.

  • Any estimates how fast they were going when they got to the bridge?

......anyway, the power looked shiny and fairly new.

  • Either that or it was a field test of their new pull-top rail car opener... obviously needs a bit of work...

  • that's what the halton sub is for

  • is that a ufo in 0:27 ?

  • it is an UFH

  • Comment removed

  • WOW! They covered the CN logo on the locos! Its sooooo obvious its CN!

  • youtube has become quite the flamepit these days:P

  • VOLLTROTTEL

  • stupid nazis

  • Tear the damn bridge down and build a higher one

  • @MrLuebeck Actually - it's a lot simpler than that - and a hell of a lot cheaper (most railways keep slightly raising tracks - to re-align heir levels) - All that's done in these situations - is tug oug a couple of hundred metres of track either side & dig OUT all the ballast & lower the track two or three feet - to start "again"

  • What happened here?

    Some kind of ridiculous experiment?

Why all the witnesses and RR personnel?

  • Train with stack cars was directed onto a track that would not clear the equipment being transported.

Indeciding how to best clean up it was determined instead of bringing in lift equipment to the train...they would take the train to the lift equipment.

Hence the abundance of officials and spectators.

  • My first thought.

But why do we see the train continuing forward, then backing?

  • I wasn't there so I can't answer that. Some adjustment. Cutting some material with a torch to reduce damage to other containers. Bad editing on the video. Dunno really.

One thing we can agree on....bet there was a bunch of finger pointing on this one. :>

  • lol i was there!!!! i was there live!!! as this happend lol

  • @SuperK0rn WERE DID THIS HAPPEN?

  • And if I remember correctly ENRON's books were also audited.......means bugger all.

Hunter Harrison should die of herpies, good riddance.

  • Harrison isn't in charge of CN anymore. He retired and some new guy replaced him.

  • Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Run out of intelligent communts ( you actually did that some time ago ) and you go out and dig up Enron. LOL.

Stop being such a whining railfan. CN covers massive territory moving heavy tonnage trains over some of the toughest terrain in the world. Overall they do so very safely given the ton miles they haul.

  • Oh, I'm sorry Charles do you need to talk, are you feeling a little lonely........

The reason why I'm not making any more "communts" is because I have a life and have better things to do than banter with an idiot on fvcking YouTube you Putz.

Anyone who works the BC district knows what I am talking about and will agree whole heartedly.

If anyone is an "FRN" it's you and your little CN flag waving BS. Get off the computer and talk to your wife....

Oh that's right, your lonely, no wife.

  • Nah. Not lonely at all. Just working the weekends managing this rail operation and seeing what BullShit the railfans come up with.

I'm a BNSF/UP employee. Not CN. But when little railrans such as yourself decide to attack the industry....I do take a bit of offense. The railroads of the US, Mexico and Canada haul amazing tonnage safely and efficiently. Little pukes like yourself would never understand what a feat that is.

  • @charlieb640 Ha!!! I knew you were management, you are a moron. I'm an RTE you bonehead and work for CP. Do I live for railroading? Not really, it's a job, that's all. Am I attacking the industry? No you loser, I'm bashing CN because they put making money ahead of employee safety.

Learn to read and get a clue.

Now I know why your so thick, your management.....LOLOLOL.

  • Yep. I'm management and I love to mess with retard employees like you. Fortunately your breed is in the minority. Just a whiner who makes the rest of your brothers look bad.

And if you had a clue...you would know that lapses in safety cost railroads money. CN is no exception.

  • @charlieb640 ah-hah.. a big wig(gler) eh? SO - how many wheels has your desk job got eh? (oh -that's right- THEY put you behind a desk- to make sure- YOU would never drive a train again) & Because YOU are no good "out" on the track... (Thus enforced retirement unofficially - & made to to sit on Ur brains - whilst everyone else - gets to "operate" the trains)

  • @QUIX4U Actually I went through certification again last week. But yes indeed I am behind a desk. I just don't "settle" for being a good engineer or conductor. I wanted to know why the railroad runs as it does and how it competes and how it can be made a powerful force in this country. I'm far from retirement kid. I'm just driven to do more than sit in a cab. I'm proud of my drive and work ethic. It made America great.

  • @2tonfun...I love your banter with charlieb640!! I had some with him earlier, but it got tiring. It is so obvious how CN has covered their asses over the past years and everyone knows it...even CN employees!! But our little BNSF hero thinks he know different....he is hilarious. Happy Rail riding!

  • @Sheldon66 It's only obvious to ignorant railfans like yourself whose only source of news is Railfan magazines. You pretend like you're privy to factual information that in actuality you obtained from the rumor mill.

The fact remains that the safety records for all railroads in North America are incredible given the tonnage hauled and the distances traveled. Your sad attitudes are a slap in the face to the men and women who work in this industry

    .

  • @charlieb640 .....go drive a train charlie!!! lol

  • @Sheldon66 Wish I could. It's a bright, sunny day today. However duties of the job dictate that I manage those who run this terminal. My job does not include blowing the horn today. I must admit I periodically miss those days.

But if I were running today, I would be unable to sit at my desk for a few minutes during lunch and see what complete ignorant asses a few ignorant railfans are capable of making themselves. It's a sort of hobby with me.

  • @charlieb640 .....you keep alluding to rail fan magazines....I have never ever read one of those. I am just a fan of railroads, locomotives, different railway companies (get a charge of seeing different locomotives on different rail lines), etc. etc. I don't get caught up on model railway stuff, magazines, etc.

  • @Sheldon66 OK. I'm apologize. Youcome across as one of those railfans who delight in pointing out the negative based solely on rumors or anecdotal incidents. THere's one dude here who thinks NS has a horrible record because of the number of NS videos here. Others like BNSFMANIFEST hates UP and cites them as a terrible company even though they are the most profitable rr in North America. Why do you get caught up in the negative when you enjoy the industry as a whole?

  • Right.......you sound like a typical CN corperate spin doctor. CN killed the 2 ex BC Rail employees with their typical bullshit, dumped 40000 gal. of toxins into the Chekemous River with trainhandling that ex BC rail employees said was dangerous and stupid. The list goes on and on. I worked for a private company that serviced CN for 6 years from Vancouver to Toronto. You can't tell me shit buddy. My whole family was CN untill I saw the light and defected to the SAFER railroad.

    OUT BIATCH.

  • Can't tell you shit because you're not intelligent to understand anything.

You spout off a few instances as evidence of a systemwide problem which actually doesn't exist.

Given the miles they operate and the tonnage they move, CN is not an unsafe railroad.

And no, I'm not a CN employee. BNSF/UP.

But I do have access to industry stats

  • Comment removed

  • Backing the same track is stupid.

  • aren't we suppose to like TRAINS not the freakin companys and locos??

  • Uh...don't they know height restrictions on areas of track?

  • Uh...yes they do. Unfortunately people at times make mistakes. As in this case.

  • lol

  • CN says it ships your freight damage free...

  • This appears to be a demonstration. The bridge is crowded with spectators and the train passed under the bridge multiple times. Also note, the containers were empty. If this were truly an accident, the train would have been stopped and upper containers removed.

  • The train did stop. They determined that given the top containers were already damaged to move the train to a point where the equipment could be removed meant backing it slowy the way it came. It was far easier to move the train to the equipment and cause a bit more damage to an already totalled empty container than to move the equipment to the train.

  • Gidday from downunder Australia

Crikey that's a bloody awesome video mate, thanks for sharing.

  • fuck CN

    fuck em hard

  • When in doubt, pinky out on the trottle and look like you know what you are doing lol even if you are crushing containers and everyone is watching!

  • That's a dumbass CN train for you! They are brutal for safety....tons of crashes and derailments in Canada and the US

  • CSX is no far behind!

  • Interesting. Tons of crashes and derailments.

    Really? Tons?

Wanna point out some industry specs that show CN is less or more safe than other Class I roads per ton mile moved?

Not a railfan magazine mind you.

I'm talking about comparative industry reportings factored by ton miles moved.

  • @charlieb640

OK tons is obviously overagerated but I have read and heard about CN having a lot of accidents/derailments. I am not saying they are the worst railway...but it seems like their safety has been questioned in recent years. As for your comparative industry reportings....I don't have those you silly rabbit!! I have friends who work on the railroad and I am not picking on CN....it's just they seem to have been a little lax over the years. You cannot disagree with that.

  • You're not picking on CN? Let's quote you. Here goes:

"They are brutal for safety..tons of crashes and derailments...."

    That's not picking on CN?

And yet you can't quote industry specs. Just what "friends" tell you.

Yes. I can disagree with what you say because your accusations are based on rumours and gossip.

  • @charlie.OK Chuck, perhaps tons of crashes and derailments is exagerating....you know when someone says we got "tons" of snow...when in fact they may only have gotten a few inches...my point, as I have stated earlier is that CN has gotten a little lax over the years. We have all read about, heard about it in the media, etc. You cannot deny those facts. They are probably no worse or better than other companies...although I have no data on let's say Union Pacific or Santa Fe or Canadian Pacific

  • Actually I haven't read or heard about CN's record, or the railroad industry, being worse in the past 10 years as you state. Therefore I can deny those "facts" because you give no facts or sources for those facts. So I absolutely deny them.

    Industry records speak otherwise.

And again...you say CN is brutal for safety. Now you say they are a little lax. How can anyone take you seriously about anything. No proof. Just goofy railfan anecdotes and rumors.

  • Charlie you're a bit of joke!!! Looking at your past comments on other people...all you say is "back up your facts"....search the internet jack!! Check out some other CN derailments on this site and see what you see. Do you think WE are ALL against the railroads and having nothing better to do??? You and your facts!! Do you have for hard cold facts anytime anyone tells you something?? You must be one sad sack and live a life full of an attitude where you believe NO ONE!

  • Its true I ask the very few of you railfans who do nothing but complain to back up your facts. Your constant bitching while having no facts are pathetic.

I work in this industry. I'm proud of the amazing tonnage we safely haul. When we are attacked by lies such as the ones you spread, I ask you to prove them. You can't because you are wrong.

It's you who are a sad sack for your bullshit accusations that are totally wrong and an insult to the hard workers in railroading.

  • OMG!!! Chuck, I love trains! I love railroads! I wish I could work weekends as an engineer, making a trip or two, or just working in the rail yards. I have nothing against the industry at all!! I and many others will stick to what we say and read. Just don't take it too personal. By the way...did you check out all the derailment/accident sights on Youtube like I asked you to? Did you read comments/investigate why some of those accidents happened? Nuff said.

  • If you have nothing against the industry then stop spouting off with comments like "brutal for safety" and "tons of derailments" when according to industry stats that is not true.

I see accidents on YouTube, but those videos do not give you trends. And some of those accidents are over 10 years old.

I read the actual NTSB investigation reports, not comments by railfans or those who do not know the facts such as yourself.

Nuff not said as long as you continue to attack without facts

  • @charlie...Not a railfan magazine mind you?? I don't read railfan magazines, but if I did I would read a lot of misinformation?? Like how poorly, certain railway companies are?? Rock on...and keep your train on the tracks!

  • Will do dude. Try to focus on the amazing work we do in the USA, Canada and Mexico in haulaing massive tonnages over long distances through all sorts of terrain.

All in all the tonnage hauled safely is absolutely incredible.

    Be good

  • Someone made a huge mistake here, both the crew and dispatcher! they both should have known a double stack train would not fit under this bridge!

  • take that back... It almost seems this was supposed to happen ith all the people watching.

  • stop the train dumdshit

  • Now they will do research on clearance for what lines the double stack cars can fit under bridges i suppose.

  • Test?

If an accident, why all the people?

Engineer could proceed until first car is near the bridge. Then easily stop before it hit.

Not momentum continuing the train forward. He could have quickly stopped.

  • oops!

  • ???????

  • Does this give anybody the idea to build containers that collapse, on purpose?

  • i got fired..

    up

  • This may be a stupid question but was this supposed to happen?

  • footage I saw , the engineer stopped the train before going under and contacted the dispatcher that he thought it wouldn't clear, you can see him talking on the two way radio and they tell him it will clear and to proceed! He tries to tell them again and then probably the chief dispatcher says to move that train now.

so he did thus the results seen here that is why there was so many people watching because he had stopped for some time before proceeding.

  • your wrong the dispatcher which was in the usa and new put them on the wrong track the engineer proceeded unknowingly that it would hit no one got fired this happened in st catharines ontario my dad used to be a train master for CN Rail and he was working that day

  • Somebody got fired.

  • If directed on the wrong track, would the engineer not suspect/know there could be a problem and therefore stop his train BEFORE the bridge?

Once it was discovered that damage was occurring, train's momentum carried it forward until many cars went under the bridge?

Once stopped, it makesense to back out. What is damaged is already damaged.

Then proceed to a facility where the containers can be unloaded.

All of the containers appear EMPTY.

    Why the crowds?
