  • I really love this video.

  • She is absolutely stunning.

  • Look at her go! Love the cute exertion noises she makes.

  • Hehe. Fluffy tail :)

  • lol I love the noises she makes when she bucks, such a cute foal!!

  • look at herr! she's having a blast! beautifull horse! :D and lovely place :]

  • What a cutie

  • SUCH a cutie!

  • Shes BOOTIFUL!

  • that is adorableee <3 i think she wants you to come play with her :)

  • so beautiful

  • THAT IS NOT A SHIRE HORSE!

  • @SaleeCooliHemmo Ha ha! Yes, she really is a full Shire from English and American registered sire and dam. Does she look more like one to you now that she's grown up? -- photos on our webpage - Axeholme Shires. Her name is Ellie.

  • @SaleeCooliHemmo You are right. She is not a horse. She is a filly.

  • @SaleeCooliHemmo

it is a shire.. ;) but not a full grown up..

    @johns503

    really cute.. (=

  • @SaleeCooliHemmo i think the owner would know

  • @SaleeCooliHemmo Why do you say she is not a Shire?

  • @SaleeCooliHemmo oh come oooon , she is clearly a shire ?!

  • @amberstuff i completly agree with u:)

  • She wasn,t a yearling in this vid.Was She?I thought 6mo or 8 mo.She seems realy sweet.

  • @7466309change Nope, she was only 4 1/2 months :)

  • she has the personality of racing stripes! gonna be hard to harness if ur thinking about doing that! she is beaut though!

  • @BethanHorseMad ha ha - she's coming 5 and has changed quite a bit :) She's under saddle now and going for a career in the dressage ring!

  • @johns503 congratulations! she will be amazing! any more vids on her now? good luck x

  • @BethanHorseMad Nothing of her in action, just one of her and her half sister Corva being cute - it's in our videos, the latest one I've posted :)

  • I look at this video whenever I want to cheer up.

  • @SDChick Aw - that's great! Hope you are feeling better! :)

  • She secretly wants to grow up and be a race horse... lol. Such a cutie!

  • OMG!!! This is a great video... My Mom always said that a particular one of our horses could tell when there was a camera around. It appears he wasn't the only one...LMAO ;)

  • CUTE! I wish I had horses...

  • OMG she is a show off isn't she? LOL. She's a beauty! I love Shire's.....such gentle giants. A farmer down the road from where I used to live had 2 big boys and they were just the sweetest horses I've met. They would come straight up to you in the field and just follow you around like puppies. (Puppies with HUUUUUGE feet!)

  • she looks like she will be a smooth rider.

  • @HopalongBarrelRacer She really is. Great gaits!

  • cute

  • thats cute! so whats it like having Shires? is it hard?

  • @gypsydreamer09 It can be a bit more work than light horses at times due to their size (for example, damaging their stall due to butt scratching) and their feather requires extra care. All in all though - not all that difficult! Especially when they are as sweet as ours are :)

  • @johns503 oh ok<3 to me it sound like fun because where i live, there is ABSOLUTLY nothing to do! so,yeah. k thanks

  • awww how cute!

  • she's adorable!

  • its like u could already ride her, thats what her strength looks like!! but ik it wouldnt be the best for her bones

  • She's adorable and it's funny how she keeps comin back to the fence

  • She's SOOOOO adorable! It's hilarious how she keeps coming back to the fence like she wants to make sure you're still watching XD

  • I love when they get full of themselves. She is too cute.

  • haha uv def got a little show off there!

  • I've always loved horses and vids like these make me want one. She looks like she's having fun!

  • shes as big as my yearling qh halter mare...

  • @tmustang94 It is crazy how quickly they grow. Her 1/2 sister is a yearling this summer and is already over 16H and 1000 lbs. She just fits in an adult horse halter :S

  • NICE! That thing will be a great horse.

  • My name is Ellie tooo :D she'sa playful lil thing, isn't she?

  • horses love to show off, and I DONT blame them!

  • Oh my god! Can i steal this little one :O

  • Ha ha what a little rascal!! Really lovely girl! Thanks for sharing!

  • was she born with feathers? im wondering whether my filly will have feathers, her father is a traditional cob and her mother is a standardbred :D

  • @LittleBayPony Yup, she had feather when she was born! Most Shire crosses don't have much for feather, from what I've seen.

  • @johns503 aww, cute horse though, have you backed her yet?

  • @LittleBayPony Yup, she went to our trainer for very light starting 1/09, now I've been riding her some this spring. VERY basic though - we're starting to get steering and forward aids :) You couldn't tell from the video, but she's extremely introverted. I don't push her at all - all positive.

  • @johns503 wow, she sounds a little like kara (our filly) she is a yearling tomorrow and we can already jump next to her, she dosn't mind me putting my coat on her back and lets us play with her mouth a little ^.^

  • @LittleBayPony Actually Ellie was 3 when she went to the trainer and she's 4 now. I prefer to wait until my horses are older :)

  • @johns503 oh were not going to actually train her yet, we are just helping her get used to it so she dosnt freak out in a few years time

  • @LittleBayPony I think that's great! Ellie's younger sister is a yearling and should be doing stuff like that now!

  • @johns503 nice :D try putting a old tea towel on her back and see how she reacts, is she headcollar trained?

  • @LittleBayPony Oh yeah, she leads, grooms, picks up her feet and stuff but I should be ground driving her and taking her out for walks more. Right now life revolves around our other mare, due to foal anytime :D

  • she is beautiful

  • that is adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • People ride Shires? I did not know that. What kind of ride are they? Smooth? Gaited? Thanks.

  • @yelloworangered Yes, while driving the drafts is still tops, there are many being ridden. I can't generalize the whole Shire breed as individuals are all built so differently, but Ellie is a nice mover. She's got suspension and moves forward well. None of the draft breeds are gaited.

  • ok thanks! :)

  • i love the sound of his hooves on the ground. I love shires also. she will grow up to be a manificent shire. she lookes tall enough as a foal. think of her as an adult!

  • @hamsters56789 Thanks! She's coming 4 and I just started riding her. She's a wonderful girl - beautiful too.

  • @hamsters56789 Thanks! She's coming 4 and I just started riding her. She's a wonderful girl - beautiful too.

  • She's a nice mover. Very cute!

  • I got a question for you: Is that filly a barb, thoroughbred, or an arab?

  • @foreverspongebob84 She's a Shire.

  • :O i am going to steal this :) i love it soooooo cute :)

  • so pretty ♥

  • hey, I'm new at this. What's a filly? I only know mare and stallion (as "terms of the trade")

  • A filly is a young female. Colt is young mare. Foal is a young horse - either gender :)

  • really? thanks, mate! :D really helped ^_^

  • Oops, Colt is a young *male*.

  • Filly- female under a year

    Colt- MALE under a year.

    Mare- Female

    Gelding- Male (fixed/castrated)

    Stallion- Male (not fixed./castrated)

  • a Filly is a female under 4 years and Colt is a male under 4 years, whether castrated or not. Filly/Colt followed by Foal is for under 1 year

  • lol she is a beutiful Shire! PS. i wonder if she would lash out at you if there was no fence. idk but it was a good thing there was one there just in case:)

  • Thanks! I'm with you - when the 'kids' are that age, we usually carry a backward whip with us to be sure they get a pop (with the handle) if they do try anything!

  • I think she's inviting you to play?? She's really gorgeous!!

  • omg she is beautiful ur so lucky :)

  • Why circles lol

  • lucky you, the 'little one' really seems to be breathtaking ;)

  • haha shes so cute!! it does seem like shes showing off too. it would be fun to ride her, it looks like she has a smooth lope

  • Wow just four months old and already that HUGE!!?? She is going to be absolutely gigantic once she's fully grown!! :) looks like a cool, active horse though :D and pretty!! 5*

  • O: Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez . I love Shires , But there feet are a Bit big XD , My 2 ponies got out of there feild and was running round the shires Field , Captin (The shire) Was Trying to catch Up With them, Its Soo Funny XD

  • altro che show!!vorrebbe tirarti un calcio in faccia sembrerebbe :D

  • These big kids can do damage at 1 day old! They're so sweet though :)

  • do u ride her now ?

  • She was lightly started last winter, but I won't be riding her regularly until this coming winter.

  • Von wegen diese Pferderasse wäre faul und schläfrig ^ ^

  • aw, that made my day! so sweet x

  • She's gorgeous! does your heart good to watch her.

  • pretty :)

  • So cute and beautiful!

  • too cute

  • So darned adorable!

  • After each lap, it look as though she's coming back to you to make sure that you still have the camera, and then she's off again!

  • I think she wants you to come and play with her!

  • would you recommend a shire horse for a first timer horse. Becuz im thinking of getting one myself, and ive never had a horse before so i would like to know from a few ppl who already have one

  • I honestly cannot recommend any breed - it all depends on the hrose. There are many Shires who would be great first horses, but there are an equal number who are inappropriate (too hot, too contrary, etc.) Make sure you'd be comfortable with the size of them first too!

  • please may i have your permistion to download this clip of your filly to use in one of my shire dedication videos im making???

  • Sure, please just give us credit.

  • ok thank you and i woudnt dream of taking the credit :)

  • Aaaw, she's like "come play with me! come play with me!! ..I want my mum!..."

  • cute and smart! totally showing off! ;-)

  • hope im nt the first boy >:l

But it reminds me of a dog....a very large dog that is :D

  • How tall was she when this was taken? She's beautiful! (:

  • She was about 13.2H - thanks!

  • how tall is she?

  • She'll be 3 in June and just hit 17 hands.

  • aww soo cute =] xxx

  • What a character!

  • omg, she is sooooooo cute!!!

  • Very happy to hear that she's progressing well :) Best of luck with her!

  • This video was post a while ago, what is she like today?

  • Aah, soo cute!

    What's his/her name?

    it's really adorable!

  • She's Ellie - thanks!

  • see i dont need people to keep me lol so cute

  • She is just too cute.

    I love it!

    =]

  • Aww she's gorgeous.

  • I love little Clydesdale foals. They're so clumsy with their big feet. Love it!! :)

  • Clydes have to be just as adorable! :) Thanks!

  • that is adorable!

  • How early do you start training your shires to be ridden? I'd have to think fairly early, since when they're older if they get set in their ways, with how powerful they are it would be nearly impossible to train them.

  • Training begins at 1 day old ;) We don't actually get on their backs until at least 3 (lightly) - preferrably 4. Horses skeletons mature from the ground up and we don't want to cause any harm.

  • she is so adorable! Would love to see vids of her when she is older, her gait is gorgeous for such a young one! Wow- future champ? Good luck with her!

  • my questions is, where is her dam? isn't she a little young to be weaned?

  • You can see her dam (black mare) on the other side of the creek throughout the video. We did not wean Ellie until 6 months, but 3-4 months is normal.

  • lol, at 0:32 i bet shes like "When i grow up, i wanna be a Thoroughbred!" :) cute filly there! Thanks for posting! ^_^ made my day

  • Gorgeos Filly! I Want Her lol x

  • thats so cute!

  • Would have been nice to meet you. One of these springs, I'll make it to Peterborough. I can't even imagine what it's like.

  • Is this in the UK, or US?

  • The US. Her sire was imported - Leapley Deighton Cardinal.

  • Shame. If this was the UK I'd make it a point to visit. She seems to have plenty of character, which is why I love this vid.

  • We have hanoverions, palominos,Morgans, and tennesee walkers. the hanoverions are spoild. I use them for trail riding, the morgans like the Hanoverions are eazy to work with, sweet manners tender hearts and very eazy to work with.

  • She is beautiful lol i love the way she will just be trotting one minute and the next charging and bucking, what a cutie <3

  • A trucking company is picking up my new 4 year old Shire gelding tomorrow. In a few mnonths we'll be in the dressage arena also...I just love the gorgeous flying feathers :)

  • Congratulations - I love to hear about full Shires doing dressage. Maybe we'll cross paths in the future!

  • lol so cute! i see she has so much room to run but instead she stays in the cameras view! too cute! 5 !

  • Hahahha, I love the little grunting noises she's making when she bucks like that. Hamming it up for the camera! Gorgeous, gorgeous girl too! I love drafts!

  • 4 1/2 months? That's crazy for how huge she is! What are you going to use her for...driving? And I have a ton of Breyers and yes there are shires in the mix :-) beautiful horse!

  • Thanks! I'm going to see how she likes dressage first. We'll go from there and see. Our 2007 filly is a daughter of Fox Valley Oliver - 2008 Breyer Horse!
