  • Wooh...good times. Just picked this up for 20 bucks at the local shop. Was this a good deal?

  • @123doomdoom If it's complete in box then yes. It's a more uncommon game then a rare one though.

  • @starsoldier1 No it's not complete...but i am glad that i bought it. Also, I am not a big fan of complete games for 2 reasons-space restriction (I put all my carts in a large plastic box and shove it under my bed), and cardboard boxes are too fragile (I am sweating balls trying to keep my GBA complete games in decent mint condition).

  • I think SNES R-Types are much more challenging than the PCEngine one, since your ship and enemies are bigger due to a lower resolution, making it much harder to dodge enemy attacks. I personally welcome that challenge since I like challenging shmups.

  • nice vid man not sure why the cam was getting blurry at the end there

  • @JasonRelaxation It has trouble focusing on black. Stupid racist camera!

  • @starsoldier1 jvc is racist yikes!

  • @JasonRelaxation What do you think JVC stands for: Just Vengeful Cunts

  • Indeed, this series is one of the all-time shooter classics. This game was huge in Japan & Europe, not so much here. Yeah, fighting games in 1994 was dominant. But I did not care, shooters are the purest form of video gaming out there. Look at the new games for Dreamcast, or the homebrews for MSX or Amiga or such, they are almost all shooters. No one makes homebrew fighters for these systems.

    Nothing compares to shooters.

  • @cuttock Oh yeah, shooters are usually so easy to pick up and play while most fighting games require mastering some crazy button combos.

  • @starsoldier1 That's right, also, it's easy to pick up on a platformer or Contra-type game too.

Hey maybe you can review Bloody Wolf some day?

  • @cuttock Heh heh, I already reviewed that game aboot a year ago. It's in my Turbografx playlist.

  • I have this on the GBA.. shmups are perfect for handhelds imo.. I need to get this version and see if there are any differences in the ports.

R Type series are the shit

  • @NEScapades I played R Type III on the gba before but I wasn't that impressed. The music wasn't as good and the game feels slower too.

  • Great Review bro loved playing Super R Type I gave it away wish I kept that game still run as hell even thought I only beat stage one. LOL This one is amazing been playing Life Force on the NES and its fun aswell. Great VID

  • @jugghead82 Yeah, Life Force is on my NES top ten believe it or not.

  • I loved R Type, the Original was the best, but it was way to hard for me, couldn't beat it on easy ^^

  • @OGKUSHI There was a Easy setting?

  • @starsoldier1 I'm talking about the R Type on the SNES (if I'm right), maybe I'm messing something up, but if I'm right then yeah, there was a difficult setting, easy didn't make it easier, you just got power-ups earlier

  • @OGKUSHI Ohya, that sounds like the Super R Type game.

  • This is an amazing review. Great editing.

My older brother swore by this game when we were younger. I like some of those special effects.

Irem is one of those companies I take note of and I appreciate most of their games.

  • Cool game, but I favor the original. Never could beat it without cheating though.

  • really like the R-Type series never gets old

  • @TheRealGOEMON77 It never gets any easier either.

  • @starsoldier1 true that

  • It is R Type of game alright! In fact this is my favorite game out of all of the sequels. Nice review dude :)

  • @Soukyugurentai Thanks dude, I think no one really thinks part II is the best, eh?
